Sony documents console-to-console transfer, USB copying and PlayStation Plus cloud storage for PS4 saves. That does not establish that a separate native PS5 edition can import a PS4 save or automatically award its trophies.

Console-to-console transfer
- Sign in to the same PlayStation account on the PS4 and PS5, and update both consoles’ system software.
- On the PS4, synchronize trophy information before starting the transfer.
- Connect both consoles to the same network.
- On PS5, open Settings > System > System Software > Data Transfer and follow the on-screen instructions. If initial PS5 setup is already complete, the transferred PS4 data applies only to the user signed in on the PS5.
Sony’s guide describes transferring data from a PS4 or another PS5 to a PS5: Transfer data from a PS4 console or PS5 console to your PS5 console.
USB or PlayStation Plus cloud storage
You can also copy PS4 saved data to a USB drive and then copy it to the PS5, or download the saved data from PlayStation Plus cloud storage if you have access to it. Sony documents both alternatives in its data-transfer instructions. A USB drive is optional; it does not make a save compatible with a separate native PS5 edition.

Do Kingdom Hearts trophies carry over?
Keep trophy synchronization separate from game-version migration. Sony recommends synchronizing trophy information on the source PS4 before a console-to-console transfer. That is account-level preparation; it does not confirm that a distinct native PS5 edition of a Kingdom Hearts game will recognize PS4 trophies or unlock corresponding PS5 trophies automatically. No Kingdom Hearts-specific policy for that case is established by the official guidance cited here.

If the save does not appear
- Check that you are launching the same PS4 game edition associated with the save, rather than a separate native PS5 edition.
- Confirm that the PS5 is signed in to the PlayStation account associated with the source save.
- For a console transfer, verify that both consoles are updated, on the same network, and that you followed the PS5 Data Transfer instructions.
- Sony’s general transfer guide does not identify Kingdom Hearts-specific save-region or title-version mismatches as causes, so those should not be assumed without guidance for the exact game and edition.
