No—Steam does not offer a normal way to transfer an existing Steam Wallet balance to a bank account. There is one limited exception: if you bought wallet funds directly from Steam, have not used any of them, and request a refund within 14 days, you may be eligible for a refund. That is a refund of a qualifying purchase, not a withdrawal feature, and the money may go back to your Steam Wallet instead of your bank.
Why you cannot withdraw a Steam Wallet balance
Valve defines the Steam Wallet as a prepaid balance linked to your Steam account. Its Steam Subscriber Agreement, section 3.C, says it is neither a bank account nor a payment instrument. Funds added to it are non-transferable, have no cash value outside Steam, and cannot be exchanged for cash. In practical terms, Steam provides no standard bank-transfer or cash-out option for money already in your wallet.

Wallet funds are for eligible Steam purchases. Steam says they can be used for games and supported in-game purchases; the agreement also covers eligible Steam content, subscriptions, and supported hardware purchases. See Steam Wallet — Add Funds.
When a refund may be possible
Steam’s refund policy provides a narrow exception for wallet funds purchased directly on Steam: you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase if none of those funds have been used. The 14-day window and unused-funds condition apply to the purchase in question; they do not create a general right to withdraw an existing wallet balance.

Steam attempts to refund to the original payment method when that method supports refunds. If it cannot receive a refund, Steam says the refund will be credited to your Steam Wallet instead. So even an eligible refund is not guaranteed to reach a bank account. The refund page was last updated April 23, 2024.
What to check before requesting a refund
- Check where you bought the funds. The exception applies to wallet funds purchased directly on Steam. Valve says it cannot refund purchases made outside Steam, including Steam Wallet cards bought from third-party sellers.
- Check whether any of the funds were spent. The direct-purchase exception requires that none of the funds from that purchase have been used.
- Check the date. Submit the request within 14 days of the direct Steam purchase.
- Check the likely destination. Whether a refund can go back to the original payment method depends on whether that method supports refunds. Steam may credit the wallet instead.
- Submit the request through Steam Support. Use Steam’s refund page to review the policy and start a request.
Do Steam Community Market sales let you cash out?
No official bank-withdrawal route is established by the cited Steam terms. The Subscriber Agreement discusses trading or selling certain subscription rights and virtual items through Steam Community Market separately from wallet funds. That marketplace activity should not be treated as a way to transfer a wallet balance to a bank.

Bottom line on third-party cash-out services
Steam’s official terms do not endorse unofficial exchanges, account sales, or third-party services as a way to cash out wallet funds. The supported routes described above are using the balance for eligible Steam purchases or requesting a qualifying refund for an unused direct Steam purchase.
