Yes—but you need a compatible controller adapter. Brook’s Wingman PS2 is one documented option: Brook lists PS2 support and wireless support for PS5 controllers. A DualSense is not documented as connecting directly to a PS2 without an adapter.
How to connect a DualSense controller to a PS2
- Check Brook’s Wingman PS2 product page and current compatibility information to confirm support for your exact DualSense model and any setup or firmware requirements.
- Connect the Wingman PS2 to the PS2, then follow Brook’s current instructions to pair the controller wirelessly. Setup details can depend on the adapter’s current firmware and instructions.
- Test the controls in your game. The available compatibility information does not establish how every button or feature behaves in every game.
What the compatibility claim means
Brook describes the Wingman PS2 as an adapter for PS2, PS1, and PS Classic consoles, and lists PS5 controllers for wireless support. That is the manufacturer’s compatibility claim, not a result of independent testing. Brook’s compatibility FAQ advises checking its official list before buying.
Sony’s DualSense Bluetooth and USB guidance covers supported devices and operating systems but does not list PS2. So this setup is adapter-mediated, not native Sony support for using a DualSense on a PS2.
What to verify before buying
- That the adapter explicitly supports PS2 and your specific PS5 controller.
- Whether you plan to use the controller wirelessly or wired, and which connection methods the adapter supports for that controller.
- Any stated setup, firmware, or feature limitations in the manufacturer’s current documentation.
The cited documentation supports the Wingman PS2 as one option; it is not a comparison of competing adapters. It also does not establish latency, performance, or game-by-game behavior. Compatibility lists and firmware information may change, so check Brook’s current documentation before purchasing.
