Technically, pirated DLC might appear to work with a legitimate copy of The Sims 4 in some setups, but that does not make it authorized or safe. EA’s current agreement prohibits unauthorized access to or copying of its content, and says EA may suspend or terminate accounts for violations. EA does not publish a Sims 4-specific detection rate or say that every player using pirated DLC will automatically be banned.
Does owning the base game give you access to every DLC pack?
No. A legitimate copy of the base game does not itself grant entitlement to every expansion or other add-on. EA describes add-ons as content associated with the game and account; the supported way to check them is through your EA app Library. See EA’s instructions for finding missing games and add-ons.
EA’s The Sims 4 FAQ says add-on content can be downloaded on PC and Mac through the same EA account, with purchases on one of those systems available on the other when you use that account. This is an account-linked access point, not permission to use content you have not acquired through an authorized route.
What does EA’s current agreement say?
EA’s User Agreement, last updated May 14, 2026, states: “You may not access, copy, modify or distribute any EA Service, Content or Entitlements, unless expressly authorized by EA or permitted by law.” A pirated DLC copy is not an authorized entitlement simply because the base game is legitimate.

![The Sims 4 - Vampires - Origin PC [Online Game Code]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/513y5rPI8OL._SL160_.jpg)
- Requires The Sims 4 & all game updates. For PC, see minimum system requirements for the pack.
- Create Vampires
- Unleash Supernatural Powers
- Escape to Forgotten Hollow
- Live the Immortal Life
The agreement also says EA may suspend or terminate an account for violating its terms. That establishes a possible account consequence, not a prediction of what will happen in any individual case.
Will EA detect it or ban your account?
The official sources cited here do not give a detection rate, a Sims 4-specific automatic-ban rule, or a guarantee that a particular player will or will not face account action. It would therefore be inaccurate to claim either that a ban is certain or that pirated DLC is safe from enforcement. Reports from other players do not establish EA policy or predict your account’s outcome.
