You can use the same Roblox account on multiple supported devices, including phones, tablets, PCs, Macs, consoles, Chromebooks, and supported VR hardware. Your account—not the device—is the main identity, so your profile, avatar, friends, inventory, settings, and account-linked balance are generally available wherever you sign in.
The important limitation is that using one account on several devices is not the same as playing on all of them at once. Trying to access the same Roblox experience from two devices simultaneously can cause a disconnection or Error Code 264.

At a glance
- One account on multiple supported devices: Yes.
- One account playing the same experience on two devices: Usually no; it may trigger Error Code 264.
- Two people sharing one account: Not recommended. Each person should use a separate account.
- Safest ways to sign in: Quick Login, a passkey, or verified email and two-step verification.
- Universal device limit: Roblox does not establish one in the official support material covered here, so do not assume the account works on an unlimited number of devices.
How Roblox works across devices
Roblox is designed as a cross-platform service. Roblox describes a player finding an experience on a phone or tablet and later continuing on a PC or console. See the official cross-platform documentation.
The same account can be used on Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Chromebook, Xbox, PlayStation, Meta Quest, and other supported VR hardware where Roblox is available. Support depends on the platform, operating-system version, region, app availability, and the individual experience. Roblox’s current platform information is summarized in its platform support center.
#1 Best Overall
- System: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 3.6GHz 6 Cores | AMD B550 Chipset | 8GB DDR4 | 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD | Windows 11 Home
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT 4GB Graphics | 1x HDMI | 1x DisplayPort
- Connectivity: 4 x USB-A 3.2 | 4 x USB-A 2.0 | 1 x LAN | WiFi 5 | Bluetooth 5.0 | 7.1 Channel Audio
- Tempered Side Case Panel | Custom RGB Lighting | Keyboard and Mouse
- 1 Year Parts & Labor Warranty, Free Lifetime Tech Support
Cross-platform support also does not mean every experience has identical controls or features. Some experiences are better suited to keyboard and mouse, touch controls, a gamepad, or VR input. An experience must also be available on both platforms for players to join it together.
What follows you to another device?
Your Roblox account information is designed to follow the account rather than remain tied to one device. After signing in, you should generally see:
- Your username and profile
- Your avatar and inventory
- Your friends
- Your Roblox account settings
- Your account-linked Robux balance
- Experience progress that the experience saves to your account or Roblox’s systems
Progress is not guaranteed to behave identically everywhere. Individual experience developers control many in-experience save systems, while graphics settings, control preferences, cached files, and some other options may be device-specific. The safest expectation is: account information and supported experience data follow your account, but each experience can handle saves and settings differently.
Can you stay signed in on several devices?
Roblox supports signing in on a new device, including through Quick Login. Roblox does not publish a universal maximum number of devices on which one account may remain signed in in the sources covered here.
However, distinguish between being logged in and actively playing. A browser session on one device and an app session on another do not necessarily create a problem, but two active gameplay sessions can conflict. Roblox specifically documents the conflict that occurs when the same account tries to access the same experience from multiple devices.

How to sign in on another device
Option 1: Standard login
- Install the official Roblox app or open the official Roblox website.
- Select Log In.
- Enter the account’s username, email or phone login details, and password as applicable.
- Complete any security verification Roblox requests.
- Check that the displayed profile is the correct account before joining an experience.
On mobile, Roblox’s instructions begin by opening the app, tapping Login, and entering the username and password. See Roblox’s mobile login instructions.
Option 2: Quick Login
Quick Login lets an already authenticated device approve a sign-in on a nearby new device without requiring you to type the password there.
Recommended Free Tools
- On the new device, open Roblox’s login page.
- Select Log In with Another Device.
- Copy the one-time code shown on the new device.
- On the device already signed in, open Account Settings → Quick Login.
- Enter the code.
- Review the device details.
- Select Grant Full Account Access only if you requested the login.
The code is valid for five minutes. Quick Login requires the devices to be near each other, may not be available to every player, and is currently unavailable on Xbox. Never approve a code you did not request.
Option 3: Passkey
Roblox supports passkeys on supported iOS devices and web browsers. A passkey stored on a phone can also be used to sign in on a computer by choosing the passkey option and scanning a QR code. Add passkeys only to devices you personally control; Roblox warns against adding one to a shared device because anyone who can unlock that device may access the account. See the passkey support page.
Option 4: Email one-time code
Where the feature is available, a verified email address can receive a one-time login code. Enter the code on the same device where it was requested and never forward it to another person. Roblox explains this method in its one-time-code guidance.

What if Roblox asks for two-step verification?
A new-device sign-in may require two-step verification. Roblox supports methods including email, an authenticator app, security keys, second-device approval, and backup codes where configured. Roblox says a verified email address is required to enable 2-Step Verification and that only one 2-Step Verification method can be selected at a time in account settings. Review the current options in Roblox’s 2-Step Verification guide.
For second-device approval, check the device type, approximate location, IP address, date, and time before approving. Deny an unfamiliar request, then change the password.
Can two people use the same Roblox account?
They can share the login details, but they should not. Roblox does not encourage account sharing and recommends that friends and siblings create their own free accounts. Anyone with access may change the password, spend Robux, trade items, or otherwise alter the account. See Roblox’s account-sharing guidance.
Sharing also creates gameplay conflicts. If two people try to use the same account in the same experience at the same time, one session may be disconnected and Error Code 264 may appear. Even if two sessions do not immediately fail, a shared account cannot preserve separate inventories, settings, or progress for two players. For two people playing at once, separate accounts are the practical solution.
Can you play with friends on another platform?
Yes, where the platform and experience support cross-platform play. Roblox’s PlayStation support information says PlayStation players can join the same server as friends using PC, Mac, and mobile devices. See the PlayStation support article.

You and your friend should each sign in to your own Roblox account; using one shared account defeats the purpose of playing together.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What does Error Code 264 mean?
Error Code 264 means Roblox detected the same account trying to access the same experience from another device at the same time.
Try these steps:
- Close Roblox on the other device.
- Wait briefly for that session to end.
- Reopen Roblox on the device you want to use.
- Join the experience again.
- If the message remains, restart the app or device.
- Update or reinstall Roblox if necessary.
- Check your internet connection and confirm that the device’s date and time are correct.
- Contact Roblox Support if the account appears stuck or the error keeps recurring.
The exact recovery steps can vary by operating system. Closing the old session and restarting are the sensible first steps; avoid treating command-line fixes as universal solutions.
Robux, purchases, and platform storefronts
Your account and its Roblox assets are associated with your Roblox account, so signing in elsewhere should not create a second identity or separate avatar inventory. But purchase availability, pricing, promotions, payment support, and Robux value can vary by platform or storefront. Roblox discusses these channel differences in its platform-expansion announcement.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Before buying, check the purchase channel you are using. Do not assume that every platform displays or processes purchases in exactly the same way.
Secure the account when moving between devices
- Use a verified email address that belongs to you or the child’s parent or guardian.
- Enable an available 2-Step Verification method.
- Use Quick Login or a passkey instead of handing your password to someone else.
- Add passkeys only to personally controlled devices.
- Log out on shared, public, borrowed, or school computers.
- Never share passwords, browser cookies, one-time codes, 2SV codes, or backup codes.
If a device is lost or another person may still be signed in, change the Roblox password immediately, remove passkeys from devices you no longer control, deny unfamiliar approval requests, and enable 2-Step Verification. Contact Roblox Support if access or ownership is disputed. Roblox’s account-safety guidance specifically warns that sharing login information is a common way accounts are lost.
Platform-specific reminders
- Phone, tablet, PC, Mac, and Chromebook: Use the official Roblox app or website and sign in to the same account.
- PlayStation: Cross-platform servers can include PC, Mac, and mobile players where supported.
- Xbox: Roblox can use the same account, but Quick Login is currently unavailable there.
- VR: Availability depends on supported hardware, software, region, and experience compatibility.
- Consoles generally: The console’s platform profile and Roblox account may both be involved during setup; follow Roblox’s platform-specific linking or login instructions.
The practical rule
Use one Roblox account when one person is switching among devices. Create separate accounts when two people need to play at the same time. Leave the experience on the old device before joining on the new one, and use a secure sign-in method rather than sharing credentials.
