There is no confirmed Steam Deck OLED giveaway tied to The Game Awards 2026. The promotion most closely matching this headline was reported in 2023: PCGamesN said 100 1TB Steam Deck OLED models were being offered through a Gleam entry page, but noted it was unclear whether watching the show was required. Treat that as a past promotion, not an open contest or a promise of another one.
What happened with the Steam Deck OLED giveaway?
PCGamesN reported on December 6, 2023, that 100 Steam Deck OLED models with 1TB storage were being offered in connection with that year’s show. Its article linked to a Gleam entry page, but did not establish that simply watching the broadcast counted as an entry or was required. The Game Awards’ 2023 rewind confirms the event’s historical context, but does not provide contest rules.
The reported prize and Gleam details come from secondary coverage rather than official archived terms available in the cited sources. The 2023 article also said eligible countries were limited, without establishing a complete eligibility list here. Do not rely on the headline alone to determine who could enter or what action qualified.
Valve did run a separate Steam Deck giveaway during The Game Awards in 2022. Its November 30, 2022 announcement described one Steam Deck giveaway each minute of that year’s broadcast and required registration, eligibility, a logged-in account, and watching on Steam.tv. Those were rules for the 2022 promotion only; they do not establish the entry method for the 2023 promotion or any future event.

Is there a Steam Deck giveaway for The Game Awards 2026?
The Game Awards’ official 2026 announcement schedules the event for Thursday, December 10, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. It does not announce a Steam Deck giveaway. That means no 2026 giveaway is confirmed by the available official event notice; it does not rule out a later announcement.
The organizer’s general event information about prior broadcasts is not a substitute for current promotion terms. A broadcast may be available to watch without offering a contest, and viewing a show does not by itself establish giveaway eligibility.

How to verify a future giveaway before entering
If The Game Awards or Valve announces another Steam Deck promotion, use the official promotion page and rules rather than carrying over requirements from an earlier year. Check these terms before submitting personal information or assuming that viewing is enough:
- Who can enter: eligible countries or regions, age limits, and any account or residency requirements.
- How entry works: the required action and platform, including whether watching is required, optional, or unrelated to entry.
- When it runs: opening and closing times, including the stated time zone.
- What is offered: the exact Steam Deck model and storage capacity, and whether the prize is a device or another form of award.
- How winners are chosen and contacted: selection method, notification channel, and response deadline.
- Whether another entry route exists: read the rules for any alternative method and its conditions.
- Who sponsors it: confirm that the rules identify the organizer or sponsor and match the official announcement.
Valve’s Steam Deck press kit identifies the OLED product family, but it is not a source for contest eligibility, current availability, or pricing.
