A Mortal Kombat 11 connection error does not by itself mean the game’s servers are down. First check WB Games maintenance notices and your platform’s service status. If neither reports an issue, use the troubleshooting steps for your platform below to find out whether the problem is limited to MK11, the platform, or your home internet.
Check whether MK11 or your platform has an outage
Check WB Games maintenance announcements and the status page for your platform before changing settings. WB’s service-status page links to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Steam status resources; it is a directory, not a live report confirming Mortal Kombat 11’s server health. Steam also typically performs routine maintenance on Tuesdays, according to WB’s guidance.

If WB or your platform reports an outage, wait for updates rather than reinstalling MK11 or changing your network setup. If there is no reported issue, continue with the checks for your platform.

PC on Steam
- Check Steam’s service status and WB Games maintenance announcements.
- Quit MK11, then restart the game and your computer.
- Confirm that your Steam account region matches your actual geographical region. WB says a mismatch can negatively affect connection quality.
- Check whether you can access other websites and whether other devices in your home can connect to the internet.
- If general internet access is also failing, restart your modem and router, then test again.

PlayStation 4
- Check PlayStation Network status and WB Games maintenance announcements.
- Close MK11 completely and launch it again.
- Power-cycle the console.
- Run the console’s network connection test and note whether it succeeds.

Xbox
- Check Xbox service status and WB Games maintenance announcements.
- Quit MK11 completely, then start it again.
- Power-cycle the console.
- Open Xbox Network Settings and use its status or test tools to check the connection.

Nintendo Switch
- On another device, try opening more than one website to check whether your internet connection works generally.
- Check your modem and router configuration.
- Restart the modem and router by disconnecting power for at least 30 seconds, then power them back on.
- Reboot the Switch and try MK11 again.
- If other internet services work but MK11 does not, check WB Games maintenance announcements.

- Only MK11 fails: Check WB maintenance announcements and the platform status page. If neither reports an issue and the platform connection test works, the problem may be specific to the game; contact WB Games Support if it continues.
- Other games or platform services also fail: Check the platform’s status and network test results before treating this as an MK11-only issue.
- Other devices or websites cannot connect: Focus on your home internet connection. Restart the modem and router, then test again.
These comparisons help separate game-specific problems from platform or home-network trouble. They do not, on their own, prove that MK11’s servers are up or down.

Contact WB Games Support if the problem persists
If the connection failure continues after the relevant checks, use the support request route and platform-specific network resources listed in WB’s Mortal Kombat 11 online connectivity support page. Include your platform, region, the exact error text, when the issue began, and whether other games or online services work. That information helps distinguish a game-specific problem from a broader connection issue.
Players may describe the problem as “can’t connect to MK11 servers” or report seeing “You are not connected to the MK11 server. please try again later.” Those messages describe a connection failure; they do not establish that an outage is affecting all players.
