PlayStation describes the release as a full graphical overhaul and lists auto-save, revamped controls, an improved user interface and full voice acting. Its US product page also describes the game’s core setup: exploring a shopping mall, improvising weapons from everyday items, rescuing survivors and facing both zombies and hostile humans. Those feature descriptions come from the platform listing, not a hands-on evaluation.
What remains of the original Dead Rising?
According to PlayStation’s description, the remaster retains the original’s chaotic mall-survival gameplay. Players navigate the outbreak, use objects found around the mall as weapons, change clothes and try to rescue survivors while contending with undead and human threats. The listing frames the story around a 72-hour scenario; that is the game’s fictional premise, not a real-world time limit.

How does the announcement fit the Dead Rising series?
Capcom reported more than 16 million cumulative Dead Rising series sales as of March 31, 2024. That is a franchise-wide total, not a sales figure for Deluxe Remaster. In its announcement, Capcom characterized the series as one that “challenges players to find the truth behind zombie outbreaks while battling hordes of the undead in new and exciting ways.”
