Where to find Captain Henqua’s Spoils
The treasure map is on a skeleton on a raised platform partway up the lighthouse west of Calviger’s Landing in Dawnshore. It is not sold by a merchant. Climb the lighthouse exterior using its ladder and platforms or scaffolding, then loot the skeleton to obtain the map. IGN’s location guide and PC Gamer’s guide identify the lighthouse as the map’s starting point.
How to reach the treasure cave
- Travel north to the river arch by the Old Pargrun Wall, west of Paradis. The Western Pargrun Wall Beacon is a nearby landmark for orienting yourself. PC Gamer places the cave near the beacon.
- Approach the arch from its south side and dive into the water. Search the riverbed around the roots and the pillar on the left for a submerged opening.
- Swim through the opening to enter the cave.
- Pick up the Wind and Wave shield. That is the item that completes the treasure-map objective; a nearby chest holds additional loot, but opening it is not identified as the completion trigger. IGN’s guide distinguishes the shield from the nearby chest loot.
What the treasure map clue means
The clue, reproduced by Gamepressure, reads: “I hate climbing. Captain Henqua must have been a sadist when it came to hiding treasure. Maybe the vantage will help me find his plundered riches. Or maybe I’ll just die of exhaustion on the way up. Whichever’s quicker.” The reference to climbing points you toward the lighthouse; the map leads onward to the underwater cave at the river arch.
Wind and Wave shield bonuses
PC Gamer lists Wind and Wave’s item bonuses as +10% movement speed and +20% resistance to Frost Accumulation. These are the listed shield attributes, not a measure of the treasure hunt’s difficulty or completion reward.
