This is an efficient exploration route supported by walkthrough evidence, not a measured world-record speedrun. Activate shortcuts, mark every ability-gated room and revisit those marks only after gaining the movement tool that opens them.

Route at a glance
Use this order when you want the fewest unnecessary crossings between major regions. Area names can vary slightly between fan guides, so confirm spelling against the labels on your own map.

How to read the map efficiently
The map draws explored rooms as connected outlines and gives Rose 50 markers. Treat those markers as a task list rather than decoration. Place one whenever a room contains a cracked floor, an unreachable ledge, a locked painting, a whip anchor or any passage that obviously demands a movement ability you do not yet have.

Make two kinds of anchor notes
- Traversal notes: record circular anchors, which let Rose swing across a gap, and diamond anchors, which pull her toward the anchor point. The distinction matters when you return with the Arcane Whip.
- Return notes: mark the room entrance, not just the obstacle. On a large map, a marker placed directly over a wall or floor break can be hard to identify after several hours.
GamesRadar’s review describes limited fast travel, many Mirror of Life save points and a map spanning Paris locations, the Catacombs and Dracula’s Castle. The same review says the game’s cryptic clues and hidden key items made map markers alone insufficient. Keep a short written list of markers by region, especially before leaving the city for the castle.
Opening route: Paris Streets to the Abandoned Sewers
1. Follow the opening descent
- Begin in Paris Streets and take the downward route into the Abandoned Sewers.
- As rooms branch, reveal the connected outlines on the map instead of trying to clear every suspicious side room immediately.
- When you reach the Central Sewer Drain, inspect the map around the mirror and note any branch that ends at a gap, cracked surface or anchor.
- Use the Sewer Reservoir mirror and cart as your landmark for the branch you will revisit after the first boss.
2. Prepare the sewer boss runback
Before fighting The Fallen, activate the pulley beside the large sewer arch. This is the most important early shortcut. If the boss defeats Rose, the pulley removes the long return walk and puts the next attempt much closer to the arena.
3. Defeat The Fallen and claim Arcane Whip
The Fallen is the opening boss. Defeating it grants the Arcane Whip, the first major traversal tool. It is not merely a combat upgrade: it changes the meaning of every circular and diamond anchor you passed on the way down.

4. Make the deliberate sewer return
- From the post-boss route, return to the Sewer Reservoir rather than pushing blindly into the next chapter.
- Use the Arcane Whip to grapple to the upper grate or platform.
- Trigger the hidden Anchor and open the large chest.
- Collect the Cestus, then leave the sewer through the route that leads back toward the hanging direction sign.
Do not attempt to complete every marked sewer room during this return. The Cestus branch is the high-value cleanup; keep other marks for a later sweep when another movement ability removes more backtracking.
Holy Innocents’ Cemetery and Prison Tower
Use the hanging sign as your branch checkpoint
At the hanging direction sign, left leads to Holy Innocents’ Cemetery and right leads to Prison Tower. Treat the sign as a two-branch checkpoint: clear both sides before entering the Catacombs of Paris.
Clear the cemetery first if you want a simple left-to-right sweep
- Take the left path into Holy Innocents’ Cemetery.
- Advance until the branch is complete, collecting its required key or upgrade and marking any blocked room that plainly needs a later ability.
- Return to the hanging sign without detouring into every inaccessible corner.
Then clear Prison Tower
- Take the right path into Prison Tower.
- Finish the tower’s accessible route and collect its required key or upgrade.
- Use any newly opened shortcut before leaving; the goal is to avoid crossing the entire tower again when the Catacombs route is available.
Clearing both branches now is faster than alternating between them after every key. The important rule is not to force a blocked side room simply because it is visible. Mark it, finish the current branch and return after the next movement gate.

Catacombs of Paris to Justice District
The complete walkthrough places the Catacombs of Paris after Prison Tower and the Justice District immediately before the castle approach. Once both signpost branches are complete, commit to this forward route.

- Use the map to identify dead ends that are truly dead ends and those that terminate at an ability gate. Mark the latter and continue.
- Finish the catacomb progression before returning to cemetery or tower rooms; your next major destination is Justice District.
- Cross Justice District and take the castle approach.
This sequence concentrates the remaining city travel into one push. Returning to the cemetery or Prison Tower here usually means repeating corridors that the later movement kit would have made shorter.
Dracula’s Castle: stay inside the connected branches
Once Rose enters Dracula’s Castle, stop treating the city as a staging area. The castle’s main hall connects the important branches, so use its internal routes and nearby Mirror of Life save points rather than repeatedly walking back to Paris.
What to record in the main hall
- Mark any painting that is visible but inactive.
- Record the branch in which you found the painting so you can return directly when the relevant Arcana is available.
- Note every gap or vertical shaft that cannot yet be crossed; these are more useful than marking ordinary treasure rooms.
A later Arcana makes the main-hall painting interactive. Because the exact Arcana timing is tied to the later route, leave the mark in place and continue through the connected castle branches instead of repeatedly testing the painting.
Observation Tower, Library and Clock Tower
The route guide places Observation Tower before the Library and Clock Tower. These areas form a movement-ability loop: the Library provides Aerial Rush, while the Clock Tower provides Smash. Explore the accessible portions of both and use the new tools to connect the previously separated levels.

Observation Tower first
- Enter Observation Tower from the castle’s connected route.
- Reveal the rooms and mark any elevated ledge, painting or cracked surface that is out of reach.
- Move on to the Library and Clock Tower rather than spending a long detour on one blocked room.
Use the Library for horizontal gaps
When Aerial Rush becomes available in the Library, immediately sweep the marked long gaps in nearby branches. An air dash is most valuable when it joins two rooms that otherwise require a return to the main hall.

Use Smash for cracked floors
Smash, obtained in the Clock Tower, breaks cracked floors and reconnects lower and upper routes. After acquiring it, check marked cracks in the Clock Tower and adjacent castle branches before pushing into the Circle of Greed sequence.
Circle of Greed: finish the eye-and-door sequence
Circle of Greed is a progression gate, not a place to skim for a single exit. Complete the eye-and-door sequence in full before moving to the late-game mirror route.
- Enter the Circle of Greed after the Observation Tower, Library and Clock Tower movement loop is complete.
- Map each eye or door room so you know which side of the sequence remains unresolved.
- Finish the complete sequence rather than leaving after opening one door.
- Use the resulting route to reach the Hall of Mirrors progression.
If a door appears impossible, check your ability list first. The intended solution is usually a missed movement gate or an unfinished eye sequence, not a need to repeat an earlier city branch.

Follow the mirror chain for the true-ending route
The Hall of Mirrors chain is part of the true-ending path. Do not skip it if you want more than the normal ending. Continue through the mirror route after Circle of Greed and preserve your map marks for rooms that still lack vertical reach.
Use the Artist’s Arcana to enter Notre-Dame
The Artist’s Arcana opens the Notre-Dame sequence. When a painting or related entrance remains inactive before this point, leave it marked rather than repeatedly checking it.
Collect Double Jump from the shadow encounter
The shadow encounter in Notre-Dame grants Double Jump. This is the late movement gate that turns the upper Clock Tower route and many previously marked ledges into reachable paths. After the encounter:

- Return to the marked upper Clock Tower route.
- Use the second jump to reach vertical ledges that were impossible with the earlier movement kit.
- Sweep marked vertical revisits in the castle before entering the Heart of the Clock.
Heart of the Clock and the final approach
With Arcane Whip, Smash, Aerial Rush and Double Jump, finish the upper clock route and proceed through the final encounters. Use the nearest Mirror of Life save point before committing to the end sequence, and check your map list for any true-ending room you deliberately postponed.
How the three endings affect your route
Bad ending
An early push to the top of the Clock Tower reveals the bad ending and returns Rose to the last save. Reaching that scene is not a permanent lockout; use the return to resume from the save point, then follow the mirror and Notre-Dame route instead of making the same final push.
Normal ending
Defeating the final boss with Arcana objectives incomplete produces the normal ending. This is the shortest completion route once the final boss is available, but it does not satisfy the true-ending requirements.
True ending
After Notre-Dame, continue the Hall of Mirrors chain and complete the required Arcana objectives before the final push. Preserve marked backtrack rooms until Double Jump has opened the upper route. This is the route for players who want the game’s full ending progression rather than simply reaching Dracula.
A practical backtracking policy
The fastest route is not the one that collects every item on first sight. It is the one that groups revisits by ability.

- Before Arcane Whip: mark anchors and unreachable sewer platforms; do not search for a way around them.
- After Arcane Whip: retrieve the hidden Cestus and cross the highest-value anchor route.
- After Smash: sweep cracked floors in the Clock Tower and connected castle branches.
- After Aerial Rush: clear long horizontal gaps, especially those that join adjacent rooms.
- After Double Jump: clear upper ledges and the Clock Tower’s vertical route, then verify the mirror and Arcana objectives before Dracula.
Grouping tasks this way prevents the most expensive form of backtracking: walking to a blocked room, discovering that the required ability is still missing, and repeating the same approach several times.

Shortcuts and failure recovery
If you die before The Fallen
Use the pulley beside the large sewer arch. It is the intended boss runback shortcut and should be activated before the first attempt, not after a defeat.
If a sewer branch seems to vanish
Return to the Sewer Reservoir mirror and cart. Confirm that you inspected the Central Sewer Drain map and that the upper grate or platform is reachable with Arcane Whip. The hidden Anchor and large chest are on the post-Fallen return route.
If a castle painting does nothing
Leave a marker and continue through the connected castle branches. The main-hall painting becomes interactive only after a later Arcana; repeatedly returning before then adds distance without opening progression.

If you are unsure whether to revisit a room
Ask which ability it needs. A cracked floor waits for Smash, a long horizontal gap waits for Aerial Rush, a vertical ledge waits for Double Jump and an anchor route waits for Arcane Whip. If the answer is not one of those, finish the current branch first and avoid an unplanned detour.
Planning notes for a first complete run
- Keep the map visible often enough to maintain room connections, but rely on written notes for cryptic clues and multi-step objectives.
- Use Mirror of Life save points as deliberate reset points before boss attempts and before leaving a major branch.
- Do not spend all 50 markers on ordinary treasure. Reserve them for movement gates, inactive paintings, shortcut locations and true-ending rooms.
- When a guide uses a slightly different spelling for a region, compare the surrounding rooms and landmarks rather than abandoning the route over the label.
- Track Arcana and ending objectives separately from ordinary collectibles; a completed map does not automatically mean the true-ending chain is complete.
What the published coverage establishes
The game was reported for release on 15 October 2026 by GamesRadar+ and KeenGamer. Serena Cherry’s 2026 GamesRadar+ review reports 23 hours on PlayStation 5 and reaching two of the three endings. The same review lists seven weapon families with four weapons each. Those figures describe that reviewer’s playthrough, not a guaranteed completion time or a speedrun target. The route above therefore prioritizes fewer crossings and reliable shortcut use rather than claiming a timed record.
