When does Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse release?
Konami lists Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse for release on 15 October 2026. The publisher lists PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Steam as platforms. See Konami’s official game site for its current product information.
Who is Rose Belmont, and where does the story take place?
The game is set in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Konami’s premise begins with Trevor Belmont and his daughter Rose amid a city engulfed in flames as monsters appear and a castle rises over Paris. Rose becomes the story’s focal character, with her growth and a dark conspiracy beneath the city central to the publisher’s description. Konami’s announcement introduced the new chapter, while the PlayStation Blog post by Konami Promotion Planner Moeko Nagaoka discusses its setting and whip movement.
What gameplay has Konami announced?
Konami calls the game an exploration-based 2D action game. Its official descriptions point to movement and combat built around the Vampire Killer whip, alongside weapons, Relics, bosses and Arcana. These are publisher descriptions, not firsthand play impressions.

Whip movement and combat
The Vampire Killer is described as more than a weapon: Konami says players can use it to swing through the environment and move more freely, as well as fight in fast-paced combat. That makes traversal a stated part of the game’s action-exploration design, though the announcements do not establish exactly how its stages or progression are structured.
Weapons, Relics and Arcana
The PlayStation product description lists weapons across seven categories and Relics with offensive or defensive effects. It says equipment found during exploration can be combined. The same description names bosses including Death, Medusa and Carmilla, as well as new boss Joan of Arc. Defeated bosses are sealed into Rose’s tarot cards as Arcana; their skills can then be used for spells and special actions. These details come from the US PlayStation product listing.
