Your first progression loop
Follow the main quest without ignoring the map around you

Fight with an escape route
Open-world combat becomes more forgiving when you avoid being trapped between enemies and hazards. Before committing to a dungeon room or a large group, identify where you can move if the first attack does not work. Retreating to recover position is especially important in areas containing traps or other obstacles. Survival is more valuable than finishing one encounter quickly and arriving at the next objective depleted.
Choosing weapons, spells, and passive abilities

Keep more than one approach available

- Accept any side quests that are close to the current objective.

In solo mode, switching between the cat and dog lets one player use both heroes. In co-op, two players can divide responsibility and react to threats from different positions.

Before entering
- Review both heroes’ weapons, spells, and passive abilities.
- Choose a setup that covers the dungeon’s likely combat range and gives you a way to survive mistakes.
- Enter from a nearby safe location so retreating does not turn into a long, costly detour.
- Decide what would make you leave: repeated defeats, overwhelming damage, or hazards you cannot safely navigate.
Inside the dungeon
- Move carefully through rooms containing traps or other obstacles.
- Use the hero whose role matches the immediate threat instead of forcing one attack pattern.
- Separate enemies when possible and preserve space for repositioning.
