Godlike.Host is listed first here for ARK: Survival Evolved server hosting. Its ARK: Survival Evolved servers come with free DDoS protection, up to three free backups a day with restore, a choice of 10 data-center locations, a Pterodactyl-based game panel and 24/7 support by live chat or ticket. You can upgrade or downgrade from the panel with prorated billing; see the current plans for slots and locations.
On price alone, GTX Gaming shows the lowest clearly specified small monthly offer among the other plans checked: a 10-slot ARK: Survival Evolved server in the UK for £9.99 per month, billed monthly. Its listing includes up to 10GB RAM, up to 100GB NVMe storage, daily automatic backups and 24/7 support. That is a UK reference price, not proof that it is the cheapest server in every country, platform or billing term.

Nitrado lists a UK 10-slot, 30-day configuration at £11.59. Because Godlike.Host, GTX and Nitrado use different markets, currencies and platform configurations, the sensible choice depends on compatibility and the complete checkout total—not the headline number alone.

An ARK server host rents you a continuously available game server instead of requiring one player’s PC or console to remain online. You select a player-slot limit, location and game configuration; the provider runs the machine, network connection and server process. Your group then connects to that server using the platform and edition the host supports.

This article concerns ARK: Survival Evolved (ASE). ASE and ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) are separate games with different server files. An ASE rental cannot be treated as an ASA rental: players, mods and saved worlds do not transfer between the two editions.
A 10-slot plan permits up to ten simultaneous players. Buying more slots than your group’s normal peak wastes money, but buying fewer means someone will be locked out when the server is full. Count the highest number of people likely to play at the same time, not the total number in your gaming community.
Current small-server prices
| Provider | Configuration and price | What it may suit | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Godlike.Host | ARK: Survival Evolved server; see the current plans | Groups that want a game-focused host with 10 locations, free DDoS protection and up to three free backups a day with restore | Check the current plans for slot options and the location that suits your players |
| GTX Gaming | 10-slot ASE server, £9.99 per month, monthly billing | Small UK-based group seeking a clearly priced monthly plan | UK price; confirm location, platform and final checkout terms |
| Nitrado | 10-slot ASE configuration, £11.59 for 30 days on the UK page | Groups needing a choice of PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Mobile or Nintendo Switch configurations | Configurable UK offer; the selected platform and options can affect the total |
The defensible comparison is therefore narrow: among the checked listings that state a price, GTX displayed the lowest clearly specified small monthly price, while Godlike.Host’s plans are on its own page (see the current plans). It is not a universal global ranking. Currency conversion, taxes, server region, platform, promotional pricing and prepaid terms can change which offer is cheapest for you.

Why the cheapest headline price can be poor value
Slot capacity
Slots are concurrent-player places, not accounts or character limits. A 10-slot server is appropriate when your peak group is ten or fewer. If your regular peak is eight or nine, there is little practical headroom for guests; a slightly larger plan may prevent forced upgrades later. Conversely, paying for 20 slots for a group that never exceeds six is avoidable cost.
Rank #2
- Official ARK: Survival Evolved licensed merchandise, turning one of ARK's best-known running jokes into a plush
- Approximately 5.1 x 5.1 in (13 x 13 cm) - small enough to sit on a desk or monitor stand
- Soft filled construction that keeps its shape on a shelf
- Works as the punchline alongside the rest of an ARK plush collection
- A gag gift for ARK players and survival game fans
Edition and platform
Confirm that every player owns ASE, rather than ASA, and that the host offers the exact platform edition your group uses. PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Mobile and Nintendo Switch are not interchangeable server builds. A low price is irrelevant if your friends cannot join the server you rented.
Crossplay rules
Crossplay is a specific compatibility feature, not a default property of an ASE server. Nitrado states that its ASE service supports Steam/Epic crossplay and Windows 10/Xbox Game Pass crossplay. On that service, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch do not support crossplay. GTX describes Steam/Epic crossplay on unmodded servers. Check the exact combination of storefronts and consoles before paying; “PC support” alone does not establish that Steam, Epic and Microsoft players can all play together.
Mods and updates
Mods must be available to, and loadable by, every player in the intended group. GTX says Steam Workshop mods are for Steam players and that Epic players cannot load them. Nitrado warns that community mods can take time to become compatible after game updates. If one friend uses Epic or a console, a mod list designed for Steam Workshop may make the server unusable for that player. Record the mod list and version before changing it, and allow time for compatibility checks after an update.
What the lowest-priced GTX plan includes
The GTX listing for the UK 10-slot ASE plan states a monthly price of £9.99 and includes up to 10GB of RAM and up to 100GB of NVMe storage. It also lists daily automatic backups, DDoS protection and 24/7 support. Those inclusions matter because a server’s value is not just the rental fee: backups help recover a damaged world, storage accommodates the save and configuration files, and support can reduce the time spent diagnosing a failed start.
“Up to” is important. The listing describes the maximum resources associated with the plan, not an independent measurement of performance under every map, mod collection or player load. No independent performance or uptime test establishes how the service behaves in your particular configuration.
How to choose the right offer
- Write down the edition. Confirm that the group is playing ARK: Survival Evolved, not Survival Ascended.
- List every platform and storefront. Separate Steam, Epic, Windows 10/Xbox Game Pass, Xbox console, PlayStation, Mobile and Switch players.
- Decide whether crossplay is required. If it is, match your platform combination to the host’s stated support rather than assuming it works.
- Estimate peak concurrent players. Choose enough slots for the busiest normal session, with a small buffer if guests are common.
- Decide on mods before ordering. A fully unmodded server is the safest common denominator. If you need mods, verify that every platform can load the same set.
- Choose a practical location. Prefer a region that keeps latency reasonable for most players; a cheaper distant location can feel worse than a slightly more expensive nearby one.
- Check continuity features. Look for backups, storage, DDoS protection, support hours and the provider’s rules for changing slot counts or plans without losing the world.
- Read the billing screen. Confirm currency, tax, renewal interval, setup charges, cancellation terms and whether the displayed price is promotional or recurring.
- Save the configuration. Keep a copy of the selected platform, map, slots and mods so you can reproduce the setup if the order page or plan changes.
Platform-specific buying decisions
Steam and Epic on PC
Steam players have access to Steam Workshop mods. Epic players cannot load those Workshop mods according to GTX, so a mixed Steam/Epic group should plan around an unmodded server or verify another supported mod distribution method before subscribing. Nitrado and GTX both describe Steam/Epic crossplay in their ASE information, but GTX’s statement is specifically for unmodded servers.
Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass
Nitrado states that Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass crossplay is supported on its ASE service. Confirm that every participant is using the supported Windows or Game Pass version rather than assuming that any Xbox account can join any PC server.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsPlayStation
Nitrado lists PlayStation configurations but states that PlayStation does not crossplay with the other supported groups on its service. A PlayStation-only group can therefore be a straightforward fit, while a mixed-console group needs a platform-specific check before purchase.

- Official ARK: Survival Evolved licensed merchandise, featuring the Dodo sculpted in textured iron
- Compact pin measuring about 1.6 in (4 cm) across and 0.5 in (1.2 cm) thick - light enough for caps, denim and tote bags
- Raised, textured surface gives the design real depth instead of a flat printed look
- Made in Japan - the pin back attaches securely and sits flat without dragging the fabric down
- A gift for ARK players, survival game fans, and dinosaur enthusiasts
Nintendo Switch and Mobile
Nitrado’s platform selector includes Nintendo Switch and Mobile. Availability of a platform in a selector does not mean it crossplays with PC or console editions, so verify the supported player combination and region on the order page.
Billing, renewals and total cost
Monthly billing is the clearest way to compare flexibility. GTX’s £9.99 figure is explicitly monthly. Nitrado’s £11.59 figure is for a 30-day configuration. A 30-day period and a calendar-month renewal may not produce the same number of renewals in a year, so compare the renewal schedule rather than multiplying a promotional display price without checking.
Before checkout, verify whether taxes are included, whether the first period is discounted, and whether the plan renews automatically. Also check cancellation and refund rules. A low introductory price can cost more if the renewal rate is higher or if unused days are not refunded.
Recommended Free Tools
Longer prepaid terms may reduce the effective monthly rate, but they tie up money and make a poor platform choice more expensive to undo. For a new group, monthly billing is usually the safer way to confirm that the edition, location, mods and player capacity all work. Consider a longer term only after the server has proved suitable.

Backups, upgrades and world continuity
Ask how backups are scheduled, how many are retained and how restoration works. GTX lists daily automatic backups, but the listing does not establish the retention period or restoration procedure. Download a copy of important world data when the control panel permits it; provider backups are a recovery layer, not a substitute for your own copy.
Check what happens when you change slots, locations or plans. The critical question is whether the existing world save and configuration remain attached to the service. Do not assume that moving from a 10-slot plan to a larger plan, changing regions or switching platforms preserves a world automatically. Confirm the migration policy before making a change.
Common failure points and fixes
Players cannot connect
First verify that everyone is launching ASE, not ASA, and that the server’s platform matches the player’s edition. Then check whether the selected crossplay combination is supported. If only one player fails, compare that player’s storefront or console version with the rest of the group and confirm that the server is not full.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchA modded server will not start
Remove recently added mods and start with the last known-good configuration. Check whether the mod supports the current game update and whether every player can load it. Steam Workshop mods are not available to Epic players under GTX’s stated rules, so a mixed Steam/Epic group may need to remain unmodded.
The world appears missing after a change
Stop making further configuration changes. Check the host’s backup and restore controls, then identify the last known world save and the exact plan or location change that preceded the problem. Use the provider’s support channel and keep your own downloaded save if one is available.
Performance feels inconsistent
Separate connection latency from server simulation problems. Have players in different locations report whether the issue is universal or limited to one region. Review slot count, mod load and recent game updates. Provider marketing pages do not establish guaranteed performance, so treat a support response and your own observed behavior as the practical evidence for your group.
