Flux has the lowest identified hosted entry price in this comparison: $4.99 per month for 8 GB of RAM, 2 vCores and 60 GB of SSD/NVMe storage. That makes it the cheapest candidate for a small new factory, not a proven best-performing server. Satisfactory’s official guidance treats 8 GB as a minimum and points to strong single-thread CPU performance; Flux’s public plan does not name its CPU or provide an independent performance test.
If you want a host built around game servers rather than only the lowest price, start with Godlike.Host, which runs Satisfactory servers alongside more than 40 other games. It is our top pick below; Flux remains the lowest identified hosted price.

What “good” means for a cheap Satisfactory server
A low monthly bill only helps if the server can simulate your factory reliably. The official Satisfactory dedicated-server guidance gives two useful memory targets:

- 8 GB RAM: the stated minimum for a dedicated server.
- 16 GB RAM: suggested for larger saves or more than four players.
Those are guidelines, not a performance guarantee. A compact four-player world may fit comfortably at 8 GB, while a highly automated megafactory can need more regardless of the player count. Save complexity, trains, machines, logistics and accumulated world data all matter.
CPU selection is equally important. Satisfactory favors strong single-thread performance, so “2 vCores” or “4 vCores” does not tell you how fast the underlying processor is. A provider that will not identify the CPU model should be treated as an uncertainty, even when its RAM allocation looks generous.
Finally, evaluate the operational details that determine whether a failure is recoverable:
- How often backups run and how long they are retained.
- Whether you can download a current save and restore an older one yourself.
- Storage headroom and the price of moving to a larger plan.
- Server location, support response and save portability.
- Renewal price, regional currency, refund window and any fair-use CPU clause.
Price and specification snapshot
The following figures are advertised or provider-published values, not independent benchmarks. Check the checkout page before ordering.
| Option | Advertised configuration | What is established | Main uncertainty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Godlike.Host | Satisfactory server plans; see the current plans for RAM sizes and pricing. | Provider states up to three free backups a day with restore, free DDoS protection, ten locations, panel upgrades or downgrades with prorated billing and 24/7/365 support by live chat or ticket. | These are provider statements, not benchmarks; check the CPU details and your save size against the plan before ordering. |
| Flux | $4.99/month: 8 GB RAM, 2 vCores, 60 GB SSD/NVMe $8.49: 12 GB, 4 vCores $11.49: 16 GB, 6 vCores |
Provider says resources are dedicated. The 8 GB tier meets the stated minimum. | Public specifications do not state a CPU model or independently verify single-thread performance. |
| WinterNode | $1.99 per GB in a provider-authored comparison; 8 GB maps to $15.92/month. | WinterNode states unmetered CPU subject to fair-use terms, 12-hour backups and a 48-hour money-back guarantee. | These are vendor claims, and the per-GB comparison is not an independent audit. |
| Shockbyte | $2.49 per GB in the WinterNode comparison. A separate localized page lists £11.11/month for 6 GB and £14.81 for 8 GB. | The comparison describes CPU as throttled. | Currency, region and plan presentation differ; the 6 GB listing is below the cited 8 GB minimum. |
| Self-hosted dedicated server | The Epic Games Store add-on is free. | You avoid a hosting subscription and retain control of the machine and files. | Hardware, electricity, broadband, network configuration and administration are still your responsibility. |
WinterNode’s September 15, 2026 comparison also lists $3.00 per GB for GGServers and BisectHosting. Because that table is provider-authored and some competitor checks are dated earlier, use it as a price lead rather than proof of current value or performance.
Which low-cost route fits your factory?
Godlike.Host: listed first for a game-focused Satisfactory server
Godlike.Host is a game server host with Satisfactory servers among more than 40 supported games. Its Pterodactyl-based panel includes a task scheduler, sub-users with permissions and SFTP/FTP access, and you can upgrade or downgrade from the panel with prorated billing, which helps if a factory outgrows its first RAM tier. Backups are a strong point: up to three free backups a day, with restore. It also lists free DDoS protection and ten locations, from US West Coast and US East Coast to Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Singapore.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Flux: the lowest advertised hosted entry point
The 8 GB Flux tier is the only identified plan at $4.99 per month, making it the natural starting point for a small new factory. It includes 60 GB of SSD/NVMe storage and 2 vCores, and the provider describes the resources as dedicated. That combination aligns with the game’s minimum memory guidance while leaving storage for a growing save.
The qualification is important: the public requirements page does not name the processor model or publish a controlled Satisfactory test. Treat the plan as a low-price candidate. Ask which CPU family and clock policy applies, whether CPU contention is possible, and how you can move to the 12 GB or 16 GB tier if the factory outgrows 8 GB.
WinterNode: higher cost with stated backup and CPU policies
At the comparison’s $1.99-per-GB rate, 8 GB costs substantially more than the cheapest Flux tier. The trade-off is more explicit operational information: WinterNode says CPU is unmetered within fair-use rules, keeps backups every 12 hours and offers a 48-hour money-back period. Confirm what “unmetered” means in practice, how many restore points you receive, and whether backup files can be downloaded before relying on those statements.
Shockbyte: check the exact regional plan
Shockbyte’s figures cannot be combined into one universal price. The provider-authored comparison uses dollars per gigabyte, while the localized page displays pounds and different monthly totals. More importantly, the comparison describes CPU throttling, and the 6 GB example is below the 8 GB minimum. If you consider this route, select at least an 8 GB configuration, verify the currency and renewal rate for your region, and ask what CPU limit applies during sustained factory simulation.

Coffee Stain’s dedicated-server tool is listed as a free Epic Games add-on. It lets a technically capable owner keep a world available without paying a hosting company. You still need a computer that can remain online, sufficient memory and single-thread CPU capacity, stable broadband, electricity and a reachable network. The server guidance identifies port forwarding or a VPN as networking considerations.

Self-hosting is most attractive when you already own suitable hardware and are comfortable administering it. If the machine is also used for work or gaming, an outage, reboot or operating-system update takes the factory offline. Create and test your own backup routine before inviting players.

- Estimate the real workload. Count regular players, but also describe the save: early hand-built production, a train network, large automated builds or a mature megafactory. Use 8 GB only when that profile is genuinely small; plan around 16 GB for a large save or more than four players.
- Demand CPU specifics. Ask for the processor model, whether cores are dedicated or shared, and whether fair-use or throttling rules cap sustained CPU. Do not treat vCore count as a substitute for single-thread information.
- Inspect storage and upgrade paths. Confirm the included disk type and capacity, how much remains after the operating environment, and the price and procedure for adding RAM or storage. Keep free space for saves and backups.
- Test backup control before launch. Find the backup interval, retention window, restore procedure and whether you can download a copy. A backup that support alone can access is less useful during an urgent recovery.
- Verify location and migration. Pick a region near most players, then confirm that an existing save can be uploaded and a current save can be exported in a standard form. Do not assume a “save transfer” badge covers every platform or server version.
- Read commercial terms. Check whether the displayed price is promotional, monthly or recurring, which currency and taxes apply, and how refunds work. Save a copy of the plan description because hosting pages change.
- Start small only when upgrading is painless. For a new, low-complexity world, the lowest 8 GB tier can be a sensible trial. Choose a host that lets you increase RAM without rebuilding the server, and monitor memory, CPU and tick behavior as the factory expands.
When 8 GB stops being enough
Player count alone is a poor upgrade trigger. Watch for a combination of symptoms: rising simulation or tick delays, sluggish interactions near dense builds, restarts that coincide with memory pressure, or a save that approaches the provider’s storage limit. First confirm that the issue is not a network route or a mod/version mismatch. Then compare the host’s memory and CPU graphs over several busy sessions.
If the world is becoming a large save or routinely exceeds four players, move toward 16 GB as the game guidance suggests. More RAM cannot compensate for a weak or throttled CPU, so ask whether the upgrade changes only memory or also the processor allocation. Download the save before resizing, keep the old backup until the upgraded instance has loaded successfully, and schedule the change when players are offline.

Backups, portability and failure recovery
Before the first session
- Upload or create the world, then make a manual backup.
- Download that backup to a separate local device.
- Confirm the restore menu or support process with a test copy, not the only live save.
- Record the server version, mods (if any), region and plan size.
After a crash or corrupted save
- Stop players from reconnecting so the damaged state is not overwritten.
- Identify the newest known-good backup and note its timestamp.
- Restore it through the host panel if self-service is available; otherwise follow the provider’s documented support route.
- Launch with the same game/server version and verify the factory before accepting new progress.
- Download the recovered save and retain the failed copy for diagnosis.
These steps are why retention and export rights belong in the buying decision. A cheap server with no practical restore path can cost more in lost construction time than a higher monthly fee.
Bottom line for different budgets
- Listed first for a game-focused server: Godlike.Host combines up to three free backups a day with restore, free DDoS protection, panel upgrades and 24/7/365 support; see the current plans and confirm the CPU details first.
- Small new factory: the Flux 8 GB plan is the lowest identified hosted price and meets the stated memory minimum, but verify CPU details before committing.
- Growing factory or more than four players: budget for 16 GB and compare CPU policy, not just the RAM surcharge.
- Backup-conscious buyer: investigate WinterNode’s stated 12-hour backups and refund terms, then confirm the exact retention and restore process.
- CPU-focused buyer: ask every host to name its processor and explain core allocation and contention before you pay; a named processor is easier to evaluate than an unnamed vCore count.
- Existing hardware and technical confidence: the free dedicated-server software can minimize recurring cost, provided you handle uptime, networking and backups yourself.
No available source establishes a universal best host under matched saves, player counts, regions and server versions. The defensible choice is the cheapest plan that meets your factory’s memory target, exposes a credible CPU policy and gives you a tested way to recover and move the save.
