What Chipotle’s TEKKEN 8 partnership included
The April 2024 announcement combined a purchase promotion with a digital food campaign and two fighting-game events. They had different ways to participate and different timelines:

How the 500 TEKKEN Coins offer worked
Chipotle’s April 8 announcement said the offer was available to up to the first 20,000 qualifying purchasers, while codes lasted. A qualifying customer had to order a regular-priced entrée through the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com and enter EWGF623. The stated reward was one code for 500 TEKKEN Coins, redeemable on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
The offer expired on August 31, 2024, or when all codes had been claimed, whichever came first. It should not be treated as an active promotion or as a benefit of purchasing TEKKEN 8 today. Chipotle promoted a limited-time TEKKEN 8 Battle Bowl through its app and website. The campaign page advertised sweepstakes prizes, including a signed Premium Collector’s Edition, a share of $20,000 in cash, paid trips to Evo 2024 and a year of free Chipotle. The cash figure refers to the prize pool described by Chipotle in 2024, not a current or recurring offer. [Chipotle campaign page]
The official rules describe the Collector’s Edition as including a physical TEKKEN 8 disc, an electrified Jin figurine, a steelbook, collectible cards and digital content. The sweepstakes has ended. [Official rules]

The Chipotle Challenger Series and Evo 2024
Chipotle Challenger Series
The 2024 Chipotle Challenger Series was announced in collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment. Its organizers described it as the first sponsor-branded tournament within PlayStation Tournaments. TEKKEN 8 was the featured title, and the Grand Finals broadcast was scheduled for May 4, 2024, on PlayStation esports’ Twitch and YouTube channels. That broadcast date has passed. Evo 2024

Why Chipotle partnered with the fighting-game community
Chipotle’s Chief Brand Officer Chris Brandt linked the partnership to the company’s reception at Evo in 2023: “The amazing reception we received from the Fighting Game Community in 2023, notably Evo attendees cheering for our ads when they aired during the competition, has inspired us to double down on our investment in FGC.”
Chipotle’s announcement also called TEKKEN 8 “the biggest fighting game release of 2024.” That was the company’s promotional description, rather than an independently established ranking. [Chipotle, April 8, 2024]
