2K and Firaxis announced February 11, 2025 as the launch date, and 2K stated on launch day that the game was available worldwide. The official announcements give a date, not a specific local or UTC release hour: 2K’s launch announcement and its February 11, 2025 launch-day post.
When did Civilization VII Early Access begin?
Early Access began February 6, 2025, five days before the full release. It was included with the Deluxe and Founders Editions announced at launch. That access window has passed; the announcement does not establish that Founders Edition is still available to buy. See 2K’s edition and launch details.
What time did Civ 7 unlock on Steam or console?
No exact unlock hour for Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch is established by the official announcements cited above. They confirm the worldwide calendar date but do not specify a regional schedule. As a result, a precise time such as a particular hour in UTC or a local time cannot be stated reliably from these sources.

Which platforms can play Civilization VII?
2K lists Civilization VII for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. Mac and Linux versions are available through Steam. The platform list is in 2K’s launch-day announcement.

Is the console version the same across Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox?
The official console support article lists different maximum map sizes: Switch supports Tiny and Small maps, while PlayStation and Xbox also support Standard maps. It also says that linking a 2K Account enables multiplayer across supported platforms. See 2K’s console FAQ.

What online requirements did 2K announce?
2K’s launch announcement says online features require an internet connection and a 2K Account. It also states that online console play on PlayStation and Xbox requires a separate paid platform subscription.
