To upgrade battle Tints in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, collect the matching Shape items and, after clearing Flying Waters, speak with the Curator at camp to apply them. This guide lists the reported pickup routes for Healing, Energy, and Revive Tints, then the known locations for each Shape. Chroma Elixirs are covered separately because they are not battle Tints.
How Tint upgrades work
Healing, Energy, and Revive Tints are consumables used during battle. Using one costs no AP, but ends the character’s turn. Tints replenish when you rest at an Expedition Flag or camp. Their potency can be improved with the corresponding Shape item:

Once you have cleared Flying Waters, talk to the Curator at camp and choose the expedition-resource upgrade option to apply a Shape. The guide reports no additional cost beyond using the Shape item. Gamer Guides’ item database also associates each Shape with its matching Tint upgrade.

Shape of Life location and unresolved second pickup
The listed Shape of Life is at Stone Wave Cliffs, awarded after defeating Lampmaster. Gamer Guides’ item database says it has not found a second Shape of Life and mentions a possible Manor access bug; that does not establish a second location. Treat one as the only confirmed guide-listed location unless a current game version or later reliable guide verifies another.
Chroma Elixir pickups are separate
Chroma Elixirs restore health between battles and cannot be used in combat. They replenish after resting at Expedition Flags or camp. The guide lists an initial Elixir plus Paint Cage rewards at Flying Waters, Ancient Sanctuary, Stone Wave Cliffs Cave, and Forgotten Battlefield, and says none is missable. These are useful healing supplies, but they are not battle Tints and are not upgraded with the three Shapes.

Scope and version notes
The locations above are reported by the Gamer Guides item guide, whose page metadata gives an April 22, 2025 release date and a January 10, 2026 last update. Exact completion counts can depend on game version, so check a current guide if you are tracking a full inventory after updates. MapMaster describes its own broad Tint database as containing “150+ confirmed items”; that is a count of items in its database, not an official game-wide total. MapMaster’s item listing includes materials and other inventory families as well as Tint-related entries.
