There is no single best weapon for Lune in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Choose Lighterim for a Fire-focused setup, Trebuchim for early Stain access, Snowim when healing and sustain matter, or compare Scaverim, Esquim and Cleim for later damage builds. The right pick depends on your progression, preferred combat role and how your build uses Stains and AP.
Which weapon should you choose for Lune?
Use this as a build-based shortlist, not a universal power ranking. Gamer Guides explicitly frames weapon choice as subjective and bases its recommendation on a Fire-and-Burn approach; the guide’s recommendation is not a controlled comparison across builds or difficulty settings. [Gamer Guides]

| Build or stage | Weapon to consider | Why it may fit | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire-focused skills | Lighterim | Its listed milestones reduce Fire Skill AP costs, increase Fire Skill damage and start battle with an Ice Stain. | Best suited to a Fire-oriented approach, not every Lune setup. |
| Early progression or flexible elements | Trebuchim | Free Aim shots generate a random Stain, helping Lune access Stain-dependent abilities. | An early utility choice; this does not establish it as an endgame damage option. |
| Healing and sustain | Snowim | Guide recommendations describe passive healing, Stain generation and AP restoration. | Choose it when sustain is more valuable to your role than maximizing direct damage. |
| Later Stain-consuming damage | Scaverim | Its listing describes Dark Stain generation and increased Skill damage for each active Dark Stain. | Its value depends on a build that can make use of those Dark Stain mechanics. |
| Post-update endgame damage | Esquim or Cleim | Both appear among the guide’s later endgame damage recommendations. | Cleim’s level 10 effect had a reported correction in patch 1.5.6; check the version context before relying on older descriptions. |
Milestone effects and weapon descriptions are listed in the Lune weapon listing; role and progression suggestions come from the fan-made Expedition 33 Wiki weapon guide. These sources do not publish controlled, build-by-build performance results, so the table is a practical fit guide rather than a measured ranking.
Best weapon for a Fire-focused Lune: Lighterim
Lighterim is the clearest choice if your plan centers on Fire Skills. The listed level milestones support that focus: at level 4 it reduces Fire Skill AP costs, at level 10 it increases Fire Skill damage, and at level 20 it starts battle with an Ice Stain. That combination supports Fire skill use while also providing an opening Stain, but the guide recommendation assumes you are actually building around Fire.

For the milestone effects and weapon details, see All Weapons Locations. Gamer Guides’ Fire-and-Burn recommendation is guide opinion rather than proof that Lighterim is strongest for every party or encounter: Lune Guide: Best Skills and Weapons.
Best early-game utility option: Trebuchim
Trebuchim is worth considering early when getting Stains is more useful than committing to a late-game damage specialization. Its Free Aim shots generate a random Stain, giving Lune another route to the elemental resource her Stain-dependent abilities need. That makes it a flexible progression option, not an assertion that it will outperform specialized weapons later.

The progression recommendation is described in the Expedition 33 Wiki’s best-weapons guide.
Best sustain option: Snowim
If Lune’s job is to help a party stay in the fight, Snowim is the role-specific option to consider. The guide describes it as offering passive healing alongside Stain generation and AP restoration. Those benefits point toward sustain rather than a build whose main goal is to maximize Lune’s direct damage.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Later damage builds: Scaverim, Esquim and Cleim
Scaverim
Scaverim is the more clearly described option for a later build built around Dark Stains: its weapon listing says it generates Dark Stains and increases Skill damage for each active Dark Stain. Consider it when your skills and resource plan can exploit that condition; the effect alone does not make it the right choice for every damage build.

Its listed effects are in All Weapons Locations, while the later-game recommendation appears in the Expedition 33 Wiki guide.
Esquim and Cleim
Esquim and Cleim are additional endgame damage choices identified in the guide’s recommendations after the game received its Thank You Update content. The cited material does not provide enough comparative testing to declare either one the top damage weapon across builds.
Best Value
For Cleim specifically, a changelog entry dated June 30, 2026 reports that patch 1.5.6 fixed its level 10 Lumina effect not triggering correctly for every instance of area-of-effect skills. That is a reported trigger fix, not evidence that the patch changed the weapon’s overall balance: Patch v1.5.6 changelog.
Why older weapon advice may miss current options
PlayStation announced that the Thank You Update, including Verso’s Drafts content, was available on PS5 on December 11, 2025. Xbox’s official product page also describes the update as adding environments, bosses and unlockable weapons. This added content explains why early weapon guides may not cover the later options; availability details here are platform-specific to the cited announcements.
See the PlayStation announcement for its PS5 timing and the weapon guide for the post-update recommendations.
