For a damage-focused build, there is no universal winner: the right pick depends on your unlocked enemy forms, mask use, skill rotation and weapon scaling.
Best overall weapon for Monoco: Ballaro
Ballaro is the clearest choice for a support role because its passives help the rest of the team use skills more often. At level 10, using an Upgraded Skill grants 1 AP to the other allies. At level 20, being in Almighty Mask grants 2 AP to all allies. These are weapon effects listed in the weapon table, not results from a controlled damage comparison. The Monoco weapon table lists Ballaro as obtainable from Ballet enemies in the overworld or from Chromatic Glissando in Sirene’s Dress. A separate Ballaro guide also recommends it for support.

The effects and acquisition routes below are listed in the weapon table; they describe in-game mechanics, not independently tested rankings. Choose based on the role you want Monoco to fill and the weapons and transformations you have unlocked.

Which weapon should you choose for your build?
For party support and AP generation
Choose Ballaro if your priority is helping allies fund their skills. Its listed passives tie that benefit to Upgraded Skills and Almighty Mask. Urnaro is another option to consider if your plan centers on breaking enemies: its listed level 10 effect grants 2 AP to all allies in Almighty Mask, and breaking an enemy switches Monoco into that mask.

For a damage-focused build
Compare the passive effects against the enemy forms you have unlocked and the skills you actually use. Joyaro rewards staying in Almighty Mask and not taking damage, Nusaro boosts Upgraded Skill damage, and Sidaro builds damage through consecutive Upgraded Skills. Monocaro provides a Balanced Mask route, with its listed level 20 passive improving critical-hit damage in that mask. The available guides describe mechanics and recommendations, but do not establish a controlled damage ranking that makes one weapon the verified best for every DPS build. A current Monoco build guide recommends Ballaro for support, while the weapon guide notes that a damage choice depends on unlocked forms.
For early progression
Monocaro is Monoco’s starting weapon, so it gives you a Balanced Mask option before you acquire the other listed weapons. Its passives become relevant at the listed upgrade levels; do not treat those effects as active on an unupgraded weapon.

Match weapon scaling to your attributes
Each weapon lists its own scaling attributes, so build around the weapon you equip rather than copying a single fixed stat spread. Ballaro and Joyaro scale with Agility and Defense; Nusaro with Agility and Vitality; Sidaro with Luck and Might; Monocaro with Agility and Luck; and Urnaro with Vitality and Luck. A September 1, 2026 build guide recommends following the equipped weapon’s scaling and says it was checked against patch v1.5.6. That guide date is the latest reviewed build-guide update; the available material does not establish whether a later patch changed these effects or recommendations.
How to make the choice
- Decide Monoco’s job: choose Ballaro for party AP support, or compare the damage and mask passives for a personal-damage role.
- Check your rotation: prioritize Upgraded Skill effects if those skills define your turn plan; consider mask-change or Almighty Mask effects if your build relies on those transitions.
- Check your available forms and progression: a theoretical passive is useful only if your unlocked forms, skills and encounters let you use it.
- Follow the weapon’s scaling: allocate attributes to the equipped weapon’s listed scaling rather than applying one stat plan to every option.
How reliable is the “best weapon” recommendation?
Ballaro is a guide-supported recommendation for a support loadout, not an official developer tier-list winner. No official statement naming Monoco’s best weapon, or controlled comparison establishing one universal top weapon, is available in the reviewed material. The weapon details and acquisition routes are from the weapon table; recommendations should therefore be read as build guidance, not an official endorsement.
