In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, merchants trade Chroma for vendor-specific stock that can include weapons, Pictos, cosmetics, music records, upgrade materials and combat-support items. Check the individual vendor listings before travelling: inventories differ, and some stock is hidden until you defeat the merchant in a duel.
What merchants sell
Chroma is the currency named for purchases in the merchant listings. There is no single inventory shared by every vendor: one merchant may offer combat equipment or Pictos, while another carries wardrobe pieces, haircuts, music records, upgrade tints, Colour of Lumina, Recoat or combat-support items. The Gamer Guides merchant database organizes stock by vendor; consult the relevant entry for the item and price rather than assuming every shop carries it.

Not every listed item is necessarily available as soon as you meet its merchant. Some vendors hide stock until you win a duel against them. Check the specific vendor entry for the affected items and unlock condition; the available guide information does not establish a universal duel requirement or identify every gated item.
Where to find merchants
Merchant locations are spread across the game’s regions, so use vendor-specific listings alongside the region and landmark names in a location guide. MapMaster reports that the Continent has the largest concentration: over 30 merchants across three Acts, according to its merchant guide. Treat that as the guide’s reported count, not an official or independently confirmed total.

Useful merchant categories
Combat equipment and Pictos
Look for vendor entries listing weapons, Pictos and combat-support items when you are shopping for battle options. Stock and prices are vendor-specific; the available listings do not establish one complete, current price list for every merchant.
Upgrades and recovery or customization items
Some listings include Chroma upgrade tints, Colour of Lumina and Recoat. Check the individual entry to confirm whether a particular vendor has the item you need.

Cosmetics and music
Wardrobe pieces and haircuts appear alongside gameplay items in merchant inventories. MapMaster also reports that Artisan Gestral merchants sell Music Records, which are used to change the background music at camp.

How to use a merchant listing
- Find the merchant by region or named landmark in a vendor-location guide.
- Open that merchant’s individual inventory entry and check for the item, its listed Chroma price and any unlock condition.
- If stock is hidden, check whether that vendor requires a duel; do not assume every merchant uses the same unlock.
- Confirm the item and price in-game, particularly if you are relying on a reported discount or a guide whose version is unspecified.
