For a flexible late-game Monoco, make him a Ballaro support: equip Troubadour Trumpet, Clair Enfeeble, Abbest Wind, Contorsionniste Blast, and Jar Lampstorm, then prioritize Agility and Defense before Might. Ballaro reverses the Bestial Wheel’s rotation, so check Monoco’s next mask before choosing a skill. If your party needs another damage dealer more than support, an Agility-focused build is a viable alternative.
What is the best Monoco build?
Ballaro support is a strong default when your other two characters already deal damage and need buffs, healing, weakness coverage, shields, or AP. The loadout below comes from an independent guide checked against version 1.5.6; it is a recommendation, not an official ranking or controlled comparison. GamerHeadlines’ character builds guide

How the Bestial Wheel works
Monoco’s Bestial Wheel has five masks: Balanced, Agile, Heavy, Caster, and Almighty. Skills move the wheel in predictable, skill-specific steps. A skill is improved when used under its matching mask; Almighty improves skills regardless of category. Planning the order of actions so a payoff skill lands on a favorable mask is central to Monoco’s turns. HowToPlayHub’s Monoco guide

Ballaro rotates the wheel in reverse. Do not assume that the same sequence applies across weapons: check the displayed next mask, then choose a skill with that rotation in mind. The useful habit is to plan one action ahead rather than selecting each skill in isolation.
When to use an Agility damage build
Choose a damage-focused Monoco when the rest of the party can cover buffs, healing, and utility. A September 2026 guide recommends investing primarily in Agility, with Luck as a secondary priority for critical hits; it argues that Agility supports both turn frequency and strong-skill scaling. This is a role alternative, not a complete named loadout independently established by that source. HowToPlayHub’s Monoco guide

Is Joyaro a good alternative?
Joyaro is presented as a higher-risk Almighty damage option rather than the broadly useful support default. The cited current-patch guide lists Duallist Storm, Sakapatate Fire, and Lampmaster Light as core attacks, with Benisseur Mortar as a way to return to Almighty against a Marked target. This route depends on deliberate mask sequencing and avoiding incoming damage, so it suits players comfortable with reaction timing and planning. GamerHeadlines’ character builds guide
How to unlock Monoco’s skills
Monoco gains skills by defeating certain Nevron enemies while he is an active party member, rather than through the ordinary skill-point progression described for other characters. Keep him in the active party during relevant encounters as you explore. The cited guide reports that skills do not unlock retroactively for qualifying enemies defeated while Monoco was absent. How to fit Monoco into a party
A suggested flexible team pairs Monoco with Lune and Maelle: Lune can shift between elemental damage and healing, Maelle supplies the main single-target payoff, and Monoco handles support, debuffs, recovery, AP, and weaknesses. Treat that as one party plan, not a requirement; the right build depends on what your other characters already cover. GamerHeadlines’ character builds guide
- Pick one main job for Monoco—support or damage—before spending attributes and choosing skills.
- Match attribute investment to the weapon’s scaling and keep enough survivability for turns when reactions are missed.
- Budget AP for the actions your opening sequence requires; a support build is less useful if it cannot execute its setup.
- Factor in your comfort with dodges, parries, counters, and free-aim targeting. The official game overview describes these as part of combat, alongside gear, stats, skills, and character synergies. Official game overview
Which version does this build apply to?
The recommendation is tied to version 1.5.6 evidence: GamerHeadlines says its guide checked that version on August 31, 2026, and Steam’s official listing shows patch v1.5.6 live with a June 30, 2026 update. The reviewed recommendations are guide advice, not official developer rankings or controlled tests. Check subsequent patch notes and your in-game skill and weapon descriptions if playing a later version, since balance changes can affect build interactions.
