Mike Towndrow, do comitê de nomeação, disse que a organização mantém uma posição firme contra IA generativa em videogames e que o tema é discutido ao longo do ano ao avaliar possíveis indicados. O comunicado dos organizadores relacionou a desclassificação à confirmação de uso de arte generativa na produção no dia da estreia da cerimônia.
