If your Clash of Clans Builder Base trophy count looks wrong, first check your recent attack and defense results and whether the season just ended. Supercell’s current support guidance says attacks can earn trophies, defenses can cost them, and players above 5,000 trophies return to 5,000 at the season reset. Those rules can explain a changing total; the official sources do not confirm a current bug affecting trophy amounts.
Is there a confirmed Builder Base trophy bug?
Supercell’s current support pages describe how Builder Base trophies change, but they do not confirm a current bug that incorrectly changes trophy amounts. Without a reproducible sequence or details such as the game version, device, account, and season, an unexpected total is best treated as a discrepancy to investigate—not proof of a known issue.
Community posts have raised concerns about trophies and seasonal resets, but those reports are anecdotal and do not establish a widespread defect. A historical Supercell patch note also mentions a separate, rare extra-troop bug in Builder Base; it is unrelated to trophy counts and is not evidence of a trophy bug.
Why did my Builder Base trophies change?
Attacks and defenses affect the total
Builder Base trophies can increase after successful attacks and decrease after defenses. That means your count can change when another player attacks your base, even if you have not recently launched an attack yourself. Supercell also says Builder Battles match players with opponents at a similar Builder Base trophy count, with both attack gains and defense losses contributing to the results.

Supercell’s Builder Base 2.0 release notes describe the net trophy gain or loss from attacks as similar to the Legend League system in the Home Village. That is general background on how battle outcomes affect trophies; it cannot determine whether a particular disputed count is correct without the relevant battle results.
The season reset can return a high count to 5,000
At the end of the season, a Builder Base count above 5,000 trophies resets to 5,000, according to Supercell Support’s current guidance. If your total was above that threshold and changed at the season boundary, the reset is expected behavior, not by itself evidence of a bug.

How to check an apparent trophy discrepancy
- Check the season timing. Did the change happen as the season ended? If your count was above 5,000, compare it with Supercell’s documented reset to 5,000.
- Review recent attacks. Look for attack results that account for trophy gains or losses.
- Review recent defenses. A defense can change your count even when you were not playing an attack.
- Compare the displayed count with the results you can see. If the battle history and season timing do not explain the total, note the approximate time, current count, recent battle outcomes, and game version.
- Contact Supercell Support if the mismatch persists. Use the in-game Help and Support route or the official support portal, which lists Bug Reports and Technical Assistance. Include the details you recorded so support can assess the specific case.
What to expect when reporting it
The official sources establish the normal trophy rules and a support route, but they do not identify a specific current trophy-count issue or provide a confirmed fix. Do not assume a workaround will correct the total, or that support can restore trophies; report the results and timing so the discrepancy can be investigated.
