The official item category is divided into Utility, Natural, Consumables, Evolutionary, Held Items, Miscellaneous and Command-Only entries. It includes the Evolution Stone and Link Cable, species-related evolution objects, training equipment, type boosters, competitive battle items, medicine, Poké Balls, farming materials and more. This guide organizes those groups so you can identify an item by what it does, how it is activated and whether its availability may depend on your Cobblemon release.

How the Cobblemon item list is organized
The official wiki defines its Item category as items added to the game by Cobblemon. That category is a live reference rather than a fixed, historical database. New updates can add entries, rename them or change how an item is obtained or used, so check the wiki page for the exact Cobblemon version installed on your server or client before relying on a recipe, evolution method or battle effect.

For practical purposes, classify an item along three axes:
- Purpose: evolution, battle, healing, training, utility, farming or decoration.
- Activation: held by a Pokémon, used directly on a Pokémon, consumed, or used as a crafting ingredient.
- Availability: present in your installed version, restricted to a command or creative context, or newly introduced by an update.
This approach prevents a common mistake: treating every object with the word stone, scale, herb or berry in its name as the same kind of item. Cobblemon places trade-evolution helpers and species-specific objects in the same Evolutionary section as its general Evolution Stone, while the Held Items section contains everything from experience aids to competitive equipment.

Evolutionary items: stones, Link Cable and species-specific objects
Evolutionary items are the objects associated with changing a Pokémon’s form or meeting an evolution requirement. The group contains the general Evolution Stone and Link Cable, followed by a wide range of objects that are relevant only to particular evolution lines or conditions. The category placement tells you that an item is evolutionary; it does not, by itself, establish which species use it or whether a recipe is available in your release.
General evolution and trade-evolution entries
- Evolution Stone: the category’s general stone entry. Check the individual species and item pages for supported uses in your version.
- Link Cable: a trade-evolution helper listed alongside the Evolution Stone. Its presence means Cobblemon supports a non-trade route for relevant evolutions, but the exact species list should be verified per release.
Evolutionary item names in the official category
The same section includes the following entries: King’s Rock, Galarica Cuff, Galarica Wreath, Metal Coat, Black Augurite, Protector, Oval Stone, Dragon Scale, Electirizer, Magmarizer, Upgrade, Dubious Disc, Razor Fang, Razor Claw, Peat Block, Prism Scale, Reaper Cloth, Deep Sea Tooth, Deep Sea Scale, Shell Helmet, Sachet, Whipped Dream, Tart Apple, Sweet Apple, Syrupy Apple, Cracked Pot, Chipped Pot, Unremarkable Teacup, Masterpiece Teacup, Sweet, Scroll of Darkness, Scroll of Waters, Auspicious Armor, Malicious Armor and Metal Alloy.
Several names are deliberately similar, but they are not interchangeable. For example, Tart Apple, Sweet Apple and Syrupy Apple are separate entries, as are Cracked Pot, Chipped Pot, Unremarkable Teacup and Masterpiece Teacup. Likewise, Deep Sea Tooth and Deep Sea Scale are distinct objects. When an evolution does not trigger, confirm the exact item name, the Pokémon’s required condition and the Cobblemon version before assuming the item is broken.
How to check an evolution item safely
- Identify the exact Cobblemon version running on the world or server.
- Open the official page for the item and the Pokémon species involved; do not rely on a similarly named object.
- Confirm whether the object is used on the Pokémon, held during a condition, or consumed as part of the evolution process.
- Check whether the entry is available in survival gameplay or is command-only in your setup.
- If the evolution still fails, remove conflicting held items or status conditions and test the documented method in a controlled area.
Held items: training, type boosts and battle equipment
Held Items are attached to a Pokémon rather than activated from an ordinary inventory screen. The category spans routine progression aids, type-boosting objects, competitive equipment, defensive tools, weather and terrain support, and items that modify risk or switching. The following groups make the long list easier to scan.
Experience, effort and progression support
- Berries
- Exp. Share
- Lucky Egg
- Power Weight
- Power Bracer
- Power Belt
- Power Lens
- Power Band
- Power Anklet
The six Power items are separate entries, not one interchangeable item. Choose the exact name shown by the wiki or your server’s item browser when preparing a training set. Because the category also begins with berries, a berry may appear in a held-item search even when you were looking for a battle modifier.

Type-boosting held items
Cobblemon lists type-oriented equipment including Silk Scarf, Black Belt, Sharp Beak, Poison Barb, Soft Sand, Hard Stone, Silver Powder, Spell Tag, Charcoal Stick, Mystic Water, Miracle Seed, Magnet, Twisted Spoon, Never-Melt Ice, Dragon Fang, Black Glasses, Metal Coat, Fairy Feather and Type Gems. These names indicate the item’s intended type association, but the exact multiplier, eligible move categories and any version-specific behavior belong to the item’s current rules page.
Competitive and tactical equipment
The category also contains the familiar competitive group: Muscle Band, Wise Glasses, Choice Band, Choice Specs, Choice Scarf, Assault Vest, Wide Lens, Zoom Lens, Scope Lens, Eviolite, Expert Belt, Absorb Bulb, Luminous Moss, Cell Battery, Binding Band, Throat Spray, Punching Glove, Loaded Dice, Metronome, Light Ball, Weakness Policy, Blunder Policy, Rocky Helmet, Shell Bell, Sticky Barb, Quick Claw, Float Stone, Lagging Tail, Iron Ball, Shed Shell, Eject Button, Eject Pack and Red Card.
These entries cover different tactical jobs. Choice items, Assault Vest and Eviolite belong in a set-building discussion; accuracy-oriented items such as Wide Lens, Zoom Lens and Scope Lens serve a different purpose; and switching or disruption tools such as Eject Button, Eject Pack and Red Card should be checked for their current activation rules. Do not infer an item’s complete effect from its name alone, especially when balancing changes may differ between Cobblemon versions.
Weather, terrain and field-control items
Held support extends beyond direct damage. The list includes weather rocks, terrain seeds, Terrain Extender and Light Clay. The official category also includes Room Service, which is associated with speed manipulation in battle systems, and Utility Umbrella, which is a weather-oriented defensive option. Since the category names the broad item family rather than documenting every interaction, verify the individual page before designing a team around a specific weather, terrain or room effect.
Protection, switching and defensive tools
Safety Goggles, Heavy-Duty Boots, Air Balloon, Clear Amulet, Ability Shield, Covert Cloak, Protective Pads, Ring Target, Bright Powder, Destiny Knot, Leftovers, Black Sludge, Focus Band and Focus Sash are all listed held entries. The group also contains Grip Claw, Shed Shell and Smoke Ball, which can matter for positioning or escape decisions. Use the exact item description for the current release to determine whether an effect blocks a status, prevents a stat change, changes hazard damage or activates only at a particular health threshold.
Herbs, orbs and other specialized held entries
The Held Items section includes the Herb items, Toxic Orb, Flame Orb, Life Orb, Soothe Bell, Everstone, Metal Powder, Quick Powder, Cleanse Tag and related entries. It also lists Throat Spray, Punching Glove, Loaded Dice and Metronome among the tactical equipment above. These are not all activated in the same way: some trigger when a move or condition occurs, some impose a recurring cost, and some provide a passive effect while held. Read the current item page before assuming that a held object is consumed after one activation.

Utility items for exploration and routine play
Utility entries are the items most likely to be used outside a battle. Cobblemon’s official list includes Poké Balls, the Pokédex, the Poké Rod and the Campfire Pot. These support capture, identification, interaction with Pokémon-related systems and cooking or camp activity. Their presence in the Utility section distinguishes them from held battle equipment: a Poké Ball is used as an object, while a Choice Scarf or Lucky Egg is assigned to a Pokémon.
When troubleshooting a utility item, first confirm that you are using the item in the context it was designed for. A Pokédex entry, a capture item and a cooking object will not necessarily appear in the same inventory interface or respond to the same interaction key. Server-side permissions and modpack configuration can also affect whether a utility feature is available.

Natural entries connect Cobblemon with gathering and farming. The category includes berries, Apricorns, Medicinal Leek, Vivichoke, Nature Mints, Galarica Nuts, Hearty Grains and Mulch. Berries therefore appear in two useful contexts: as natural or agricultural resources and as held items. The context determines how you should search for them and what you can do next.
Apricorns and Mulch are especially easy to confuse with finished equipment because they are materials rather than competitive held items. Nature Mints and Galarica Nuts are also distinct from ordinary healing consumables. Check the item’s category and current recipe page before discarding a plant or crop as surplus material.

Consumables are used, eaten or spent rather than assigned permanently as held equipment. Cobblemon’s list includes food, medicine, vitamins, Rare Candy, Exp. Candy, Hyper Training Candy, Ability Capsule, Ability Patch, battle medicines and status cures.

Progression and training consumables

- Exp. Candy: an experience-oriented consumable family.
- Hyper Training Candy: a separate training entry.
- Vitamins: consumable stat-training items listed as a group.
Ability and battle-use consumables
Ability Capsule and Ability Patch are separate entries, so do not substitute one for the other when following a build or evolution guide. Battle medicines and status cures form additional groups for restoring a Pokémon or removing a condition. The category confirms that these systems exist in Cobblemon; the exact availability, cost and restrictions should be checked against the installed release and the item’s own page.

Miscellaneous and command-only entries
Miscellaneous entries include Relic Coin, Smithing Templates and Pottery Sherds. They may serve collection, crafting or decorative purposes rather than direct battle play. Pokémon Model is listed as command-only, which is an important distinction for survival players: appearing in the item category does not guarantee that an object can be obtained through ordinary gameplay.
If an item is visible in a creative menu, command suggestion or server item browser but cannot be crafted, check whether it belongs to the Command-Only section. Server operators may also disable or restrict commands even when the underlying Cobblemon entry exists.
What changed with the Make Your Move Update 1.8.0
The official Cobblemon main page currently highlights the Make Your Move Update 1.8.0. It adds Alpha Pokémon and introduces TMs crafted from Type Gems in a TM Machine. Those additions matter when reading an item list because Type Gems are not merely type-boosting held items in a team-building sense; they are also connected to the updated TM-crafting system.
Do not assume that an item list from an older guide matches 1.8.0, or that every 1.8.0 entry behaves identically in a later release. Keep the version number with any notes you make about recipes, move teaching, Alpha Pokémon support or Type Gem use.

A practical method for choosing the right item
- Start with the goal. Decide whether you need an evolution trigger, a held battle effect, healing, experience, capture, farming material or a crafting ingredient.
- Filter by activation. Look for a held item, a directly usable item, a consumable or a material. This eliminates many similarly named entries.
- Match the exact name. Distinguish paired entries such as Electirizer and Magmarizer, Upgrade and Dubious Disc, Tart Apple and Sweet Apple, or Deep Sea Tooth and Deep Sea Scale.
- Check the version. Compare the item page with the Cobblemon release shown by your launcher, modpack or server.
- Confirm the context. Evolution items may require a particular species; held items may activate only during battle; materials may require a machine such as the TM Machine.
- Test safely. Back up a world or use a controlled battle before consuming a rare item or changing a competitive set.
Common mistakes and fixes
- Looking only for evolution stones: search the full Evolutionary section because Link Cable and species-specific objects are listed there too.
- Using a similarly named object: compare the complete item name, not just the words apple, scale, herb, armor or pot.
- Assuming every listed item is obtainable in survival: check whether it is in Miscellaneous or Command-Only and review server permissions.
- Copying a competitive set across versions: verify current effects for Choice items, defensive tools, terrain support and status-orb interactions.
- Ignoring category overlap: berries can be natural resources and held items, while Type Gems connect held-item naming with TM crafting in the 1.8.0 update.
Keeping your personal item reference current
For a reliable checklist, record the Cobblemon version beside every recipe or evolution note. Separate your notes into Evolutionary, Held Items, Utility, Natural, Consumables, Miscellaneous and Command-Only headings, then add the activation method and the Pokémon or machine involved. Recheck the official wiki after an update rather than carrying forward an old list: the category is live, and its page count and contents can change as Cobblemon develops.
