If Call of Duty: Mobile shows “Authorization error 5 1200,” the code alone does not reveal the cause or prove that an outage or account ban is involved. Activision’s current troubleshooting advice covers general access and connection problems, but does not identify this specific error. Start with the connection, restart and updates; then follow the steps for your device.
What does Authorization error 5 1200 mean?
Players have reported this code when they cannot log in or load Call of Duty: Mobile, but no definitive cause is established by the code itself. Older third-party guides suggest possibilities such as connection trouble, server issues, incorrect credentials, an outdated app or account enforcement; those lists are not an official diagnosis and do not establish that any one of them applies to your case.
Activision’s support article, dated February 25, 2026, provides general instructions for installing and accessing the game. It does not define Authorization error 5 1200 or confirm that a related incident is active. See Activision’s Call of Duty: Mobile troubleshooting tips.
Try these steps if you can’t log in
- Confirm what is failing. Note the exact error text and whether the game reaches the login screen. This can help you describe the problem if you contact support; it does not identify the cause on its own.
- Check your connection. Activision recommends a strong Wi-Fi connection. If Wi-Fi is unreliable, restart your router if you can, or try mobile data. Check whether other apps can connect, too.
- Restart the game and your device. Activision says restarting the device can refresh the connection. Close and reopen the game, then restart the phone or tablet if the error remains.
- Install available updates. Update Call of Duty: Mobile and your device’s operating system, then try signing in again.
Platform-specific steps
Android: clear the app cache
Activision recommends clearing the app cache for Android access problems. The exact menu names vary by device and Android version; look in your device’s Settings under Apps or Applications, select Call of Duty: Mobile, and use the storage option to clear the cache. Choose cache only: clearing app data is a different, more disruptive action and is not the same instruction.

iPhone and iPad: reinstall the game
Activision’s iOS guidance includes deleting and reinstalling Call of Duty: Mobile. After reinstalling, sign in with the same account; Activision says this reinstates your progress and game data. Make sure you know which account you used before removing the app.

- iOS: iOS 15.0 or later and at least 2 GB of RAM.
Meeting these requirements is compatibility guidance, not evidence that your device caused Authorization error 5 1200.
When to contact Activision
If the error persists after the applicable steps, use the question-mark icon at the top of the main lobby to open in-game help. If you cannot reach the lobby, go to Activision’s Call of Duty: Mobile support page. Include the exact code, your device and operating-system version, and which troubleshooting steps you tried.

What the old acknowledgment does—and does not—confirm
A GosuNoob guide published April 10, 2021 reproduced a post attributed to Call of Duty: Mobile’s official account: “Hey there, we are aware of this issue and working on a potential fix right now. Hang tight and hopefully we’ll have some good news shortly!” That is a historical acknowledgment from 2021, not confirmation of a current issue or fix. The official public guidance cited above does not establish the present cause or status of this specific code.
