If melee is not working in Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision’s current public status information does not confirm a widespread melee bug caused by the recent update. Check that your melee action is still bound to the expected input, then note when and where the failure happens. If it persists and is not listed among known issues, report it to Activision with details about your platform and controls.
Is Warzone melee a confirmed bug after the latest update?
As of October 8, 2026, Activision’s Warzone Known Issues page, updated September 25, does not list melee behavior among its tracked issues. The latest patch notes reviewed, dated October 7, describe gameplay changes and fixes but do not identify a melee problem or a melee fix: Warzone Season 06 patch notes.
That means the official materials reviewed do not confirm that the update caused a widespread or acknowledged melee defect. It does not rule out an unreported issue or a problem specific to a player’s controls, device, mode, or game session. No official failure-rate figure or diagnosis for an individual setup is available in these sources.
What to check when melee does not respond
These are basic diagnostic checks, not fixes published by Activision. Change one thing at a time so you can tell whether the symptom changes.

- Check the melee binding. Open Warzone’s control settings and confirm that the melee action is assigned to the button or key you expect. If you use a custom layout or remapped input, verify the assignment there as well.
- Test in a low-stakes situation. Try the input in a safe or low-pressure situation and observe whether it fails consistently. Note whether other actions on the same controller, keyboard, or mouse still respond.
- Record the circumstances. Write down your platform, input device, assigned melee control, mode, and what was happening when the input failed. Include the update or date when you first noticed it, if known.
These checks can help distinguish a binding or input problem from a possible game-side issue, but they cannot establish the cause by themselves.

- Your platform and whether you use a controller, keyboard, or mouse.
- The melee input assigned in your controls and whether it is a custom mapping.
- The mode and circumstances where the input fails.
- Whether other actions work on the same input device.
- When the problem began, including the update or date if you know it.
- Short, repeatable steps describing what you do and what happens instead.
These details are practical suggestions for describing the symptom, not additional requirements quoted from Activision.
