Dynasty was announced with online and offline play for up to 30 seasons and up to 32 users, with one user per school. This is an announcement-era guide to the systems EA described, not a report on later updates or current online-service status.
How EA framed Dynasty
EA organized Dynasty around three pillars: “Build Your Coach,” “Build Your Program,” and “Deliver the World of College Football.” The program-building pillar brings together high-school recruiting, transfer-portal additions, roster retention, scouting and player development. EA said it consulted community members, college-football experts and coaches, and aimed to reflect a changing sport, including roster management, the 12-team playoff and conference realignment. Those are EA’s stated design goals, not independent evidence of how successfully the mode achieves them. EA SPORTS’ Dynasty Deep Dive describes the planned systems.

Choose a coaching role and develop your staff
A Dynasty could begin with the user as a head coach, offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator. EA said each role has performance expectations and full control of recruiting. The choice affects how you approach the coaching staff, but does not remove recruiting from coordinator roles.
Archetypes, abilities and job security
Coaches use archetypes and abilities; EA compared the archetypes to RPG classes. Abilities belonging to staff members stack. Head-coach abilities have the greatest impact, while coordinator abilities matter more when they align with that coordinator’s side of the ball. Coordinators progress their own archetypes and abilities automatically, so users do not choose or respec those purchases. Job security responds to results and contract expectations: a poor run can put a coach on the hot seat or lead to dismissal. EA’s deep dive outlines these coaching rules.

Recruit high-school prospects and transfers
Recruiting combines high-school prospects with transfer-portal players. It also connects scouting to roster construction: you evaluate talent while balancing new arrivals against retaining players already on the roster. EA described a gem-and-bust system and uncertainty around prospects. Fully scouting an attribute can reveal its exact rating; less-scouted prospects leave more uncertainty in the model EA outlined.
When development traits become visible
EA said a recruit’s development trait is generally hidden until National Signing Day. There is a chance to reveal one earlier during an official visit if the coach has the Strategist archetype’s Mind Reader ability. This makes that ability a scouting advantage, not a guarantee that every recruit’s trait will be exposed before signing. Develop players through the offseason
Players can progress during the season, but EA said most development happens in the offseason, after position changes. The system depends on a player’s school year, coach abilities and development trait. EA listed four traits: Normal, Impact, Star and Elite.
Skill groups and caps
Development operates through skill groups: improving a group advances related attributes rather than treating every rating as a separate, unlimited track. Caps constrain a player’s potential in a skill group. The deep dive presents the traits, skill groups and caps as parts of one progression system; the trait indicates a development category, while the group caps limit how far particular areas can grow. Run a private or shared league
EA said both Online and Offline Dynasty could run for up to 30 seasons, and either format could include up to 32 users. A school could have only one user. That means the 32-user ceiling is a league-wide limit, not a promise that every school is controlled by a person.
Commissioner tools
At creation, commissioners manage league settings and roster-file selection. They can manage custom conferences and schedules, track member status, use force-win functionality and advance the league to the next week or offseason stage. These responsibilities make the commissioner central to the league’s pace and administration, particularly when users are not ready to advance together. Platforms and launch context
EA announced College Football 25 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a worldwide launch date of July 19, 2024. EA also said the game covered 134 FBS schools. These figures describe EA’s 2024 announcement; they do not establish current store availability, online-service status or subsequent changes. EA executive Daryl Holt described the game as built around authenticity and modern college football. That is EA’s promotional characterization, rather than an independent assessment of Dynasty’s realism.
