Company of Heroes 3: Dare & Destroy adds four battlegroups, one for each faction: US Forces’ Free French, Wehrmacht’s Siege Breaker, British Forces’ Special Service, and the Deutsches Afrikakorps’ Elite Forces. Their official descriptions center on defensive counterattacks, breaking fortified lines, raiding and resource denial, and veteran combined arms, respectively. The DLC arrived with update 2.4.0 on May 14, 2026.
What Dare & Destroy adds
Relic’s official 2.4.0 update notes describe four new battlegroups for multiplayer and Co-op/Skirmish against AI. Each gives a different tactical theme and a set of associated units. The battlegroup descriptions explain intended play styles; they do not establish which is strongest or most effective in competitive matches.

How the four battlegroups differ
US Forces: Free French
Free French is built around holding ground long enough to prepare a breakout. French Rifle Sections and fortifications—including concrete Bastions and Tourelle defenses—form the defensive side of the plan. Railway Artillery and the Char B1 Heavy Tank are named counterattack tools. Relic summarizes the approach as using “robust defenses and stalling tactics” to buy time for a breakout.
Wehrmacht: Siege Breaker
Siege Breaker is the option themed around cracking a prepared line. Additional infantry weapons and Flame Halftracks put pressure on defenses; Siege Specialists and the Sturmtiger Heavy Tank are intended to take advantage after a breach opens. Its description suggests a push-and-exploit sequence rather than a raiding or static-defense focus.

British Forces: Special Service
Special Service centers on mobility and disruption. Raiding vehicles, Commandos, and Snipers harass enemy units, while Scorched Earth tactics target the opponent’s access to resources. Relic describes the goal as denying resources and attacking where the enemy least expects it.
Deutsches Afrikakorps: Elite Forces
Elite Forces is presented as an experienced combined-arms force, pairing veteran infantry with vehicles. Its named examples include the Command 8Rad Armored Car, Ace Stuka Squadrons, and the Tiger Ace Heavy Tank. The official description emphasizes veteran units and combined arms rather than a single defensive, breaching, or raiding specialty.

Release timing and what is separate
Dare & Destroy was included in Company of Heroes 3 update 2.4.0, released May 14, 2026, according to Relic’s patch notes. Relic’s later 20th Anniversary Roadmap, published July 23, 2026, also identifies Dare & Destroy as a 2026 battlegroup DLC and discusses Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand separately. Final Stand is not one of these battlegroups or part of the Dare & Destroy content described here.
The 2.4.0 notes also include multiplayer balance changes, but those are update changes—not additional Dare & Destroy battlegroups. The update’s four listed additions are Free French, Siege Breaker, Special Service, and Elite Forces.
