The complete list of fixed, quest-specific donuts in Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension contains five recipes, each defined by a required flavor profile. Ordinary donuts work differently: their flavor values come from the berries you choose, so there is no single fixed list of ordinary recipes or guaranteed power for a given berry set.
All five special donut recipes
The figures below are minimum flavor thresholds in Sweet / Spicy / Sour / Bitter / Fresh order, not exclusive berry combinations. Meeting a profile unlocks the listed item or Hyperspace destination. The thresholds are recorded in Bulbapedia’s donut reference, a community-edited source.
| Special donut | Required flavor profile | Ingredient or unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Bad Dreams Cruller | 310 / 100 / 310 / 40 / 40 | Épice Noire; opens Hyperspace Newmoon Nightmare |
| Omega Old-Fashioned Donut | 260 / 160 / 160 / 20 / 260 | Hoennian Salt; opens Hyperspace Desolate Land |
| Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut | 50 / 50 / 210 / 180 / 370 | Opens Hyperspace Primordial Sea |
| Delta Old-Fashioned Donut | 120 / 40 / 340 / 40 / 390 | Arboliva Oil; opens Hyperspace Sky Pillar |
| Plasma-Glazed Donut | 40 / 200 / 400 / 280 / 40 | Popping Candy; opens Hyperspace Rogue Mega Arena during Side Mission EX3 |
How to make Bad Dreams Cruller
One reported berry combination that reaches the Bad Dreams Cruller profile is 3 Hyper Tanga, 3 Hyper Kasib, 1 Hyper Coba, and 1 Hyper Yache. It is an example, not the only valid combination: the requirement is the flavor profile of 310 Sweet, 100 Spicy, 310 Sour, 40 Bitter, and 40 Fresh. Serebii’s Darkrai guide and Poké Trainer Vault’s guide report this set.
How ordinary donut recipes work
Ansha makes Hoopa’s donuts from berries. The Pokémon Company explained in its November 6, 2025 announcement: “When you feed a donut to Hoopa, the donut can yield a number of different effects while in hyperspace — such as powering up the Pokémon you have with you — depending on what Berries the donut was made with.” It also says Hyperspace Berries produce stronger donut effects than regular berries. - Join Team MZ and the Mega Evolution Successor, Korrina, to investigate Hyperspace Lumiose, the otherworldly home to rare and hyper-strong Pokémon

For ordinary donuts, add the flavor values of the selected berries to get the finished donut’s profile. Its powers are generated based on that profile and can vary, so a berry combination should not be treated as a guaranteed way to get one exact power. The available berry slots increase from three at the start to eight as the DLC story progresses. The flavor groupings below describe the broad kinds of powers associated with dominant flavors; exact types and levels depend on the donut, as summarized in Serebii’s donut guide.
- Sweet: Sparkling, Alpha, Humungo, and Teensy powers.
- Sour: Item, Big Haul, and Mega-related powers.
- Spicy: Move, Attack, Special Attack, and Speed powers.
- Bitter: Defensive and resistance powers.
- Fresh: Encounter and Capture powers.
How to choose the best donut recipe
There is no universally best ordinary donut recipe. Choose berries for the activity you want to support, then consider what ingredients you have and the overall flavor profile they produce.
Rank #2
- Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
- Shiny or Alpha hunting: Aim toward a sweet-dominant profile, which is associated with Sparkling and Alpha powers.
- Gathering items: A sour-dominant profile is the relevant direction for item and Big Haul powers.
- Combat: Consider spicy for offensive or speed-related powers, or bitter for defensive and resistance powers.
- Finding or catching Pokémon: Fresh is associated with Encounter and Capture powers.
These are flavor-based directions rather than promises about a specific result. For a quest-gated special donut, use its listed threshold instead of optimizing for an ordinary power. The Mega Dimension additional story is played after the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, according to The Pokémon Company’s DLC page.
