How to read the confirmed Pokémon list
Pokémon Database describes its Legends: Z-A Pokédex as the full Pokédex and links a distinct list for the paid Mega Dimension DLC. It is a compiled secondary reference, not a publisher-certified master roster. The Pokémon Company’s official Pokémon page highlights selected Pokémon and points readers to news for additional updates; it does not provide a complete text list.
- Base game: Pokémon Database’s main Legends: Z-A list.
- DLC: Its separately scoped Mega Dimension list, which should not be merged into the base-game roster.
- Species versus form: A Mega-Evolved form is a form of a species, not an additional species entry.
- Confirmation: Names on the compiled Pokédex are list inclusions; names appearing in official announcements are individually named official reveals.

Officially identified first partners
The Pokémon Company names Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile as the three first-partner choices. These are confirmed on the official game page, independently of the broader secondary roster.
Other official confirmations
The official page identifies Zygarde as a Legendary Pokémon connected to the story and features selected additional Pokémon. Its selected examples are not an exhaustive roster.

These are official named confirmations, not a claim that the list contains every Pokémon in the DLC. Hoopa is a species; the names beginning with “Mega” identify forms.
When the DLC story takes place
The Pokémon Company says the additional story is for after the main story is complete: “This DLC includes additional story content that you can experience after you’ve completed the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.”

Availability and roster limits
As of October 8, 2026, the official latest updates page labels the game available now. Its September 30, 2026 update says a bundle containing the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Mega Dimension is scheduled for October 29, 2026, so that bundle is not yet released as of that date. Check the live listing for regional naming, platform, format, and whether DLC is included.
The official sources cited here do not establish a publisher-certified total Pokémon count. Pokémon Database’s “full Pokédex” label describes its own compiled list, not an official total. Its entries may also be updated or corrected; consult the live base-game and DLC lists when checking a specific Pokémon.

Pokémon HOME compatibility
The 2025 press release described Pokémon HOME connectivity as planned for 2026 and said transferred Pokémon could not be returned to previous titles. That announcement was forward-looking; it does not establish current transfer availability. Check current official compatibility information before transferring Pokémon.
