- Yellow: Used for storing or transporting liquids and goods.
- Green: Another name for someone who leads or directs others.
- Blue: Related to a professional sport.
- Purple: Things that move back and forth.

- BARREL-SHAPED CONTAINER: CASK, CYLINDER, DRUM, TANK

- N.F.L. TEAM MEMBER: COWBOY, JET, RAM, RAVEN

How Connections works
Connections presents 16 words and asks players to sort them into four groups of four, with each group sharing a theme. The New York Times Help Center says each puzzle has exactly one solution; the groups are color-coded from yellow, the easiest, to purple, the trickiest. The puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone, according to the official Connections help page.

The NYT Connections archive reaches back to June 12, 2023, but archive access is limited to All Access and Games subscribers. Playing archived puzzles affects specified statistics but does not affect streaks. Check the official help page for current eligibility and terms, which can change.
