Prioritize cooldown substats, then ATK%, with damage resistance as a useful defensive option. For Arena, damage-resist bypass on the Beascuit can be more attractive; a full ATK setup is a situational burst alternative, not the default.
Why cooldown is the best starting point
Shadow Milk Cookie is a Beast-rarity, Magic-type cookie in the Middle position. His skill, Act 1: Lies, pressures a vulnerable target with Puppet Show effects, follow-up damage, and disruption. The build guides describe a base skill cooldown of 11 seconds. More frequent casts are the reason cooldown is the broadly recommended starting point: the goal is to access his skill loop more often, rather than maximizing a single hit.
Build guides use both “Deceitful Chocolate” and “Swift Chocolate” when recommending a five-piece cooldown set. Check the topping name available in your game version; the practical recommendation is the cooldown-oriented set.
Best toppings: five cooldown pieces
Use five cooldown-oriented toppings for a flexible build that suits repeated skill use across modes. For their substats, use this order as a baseline:

#1 Best Overall
- Add a surprise Beast Cookies figure to your CookieRun collection with this random box release designed for collectors and display fans.
- Each box includes one randomly packed figure, making every opening part of the fun for blind box collectors.
- The figure measures about 3.1 x 1.6 x 3.9 inches and is made with PVC and ABS materials for a solid collectible feel.
- Compact sizing works well on desks, shelves, and display cases without taking up much room.
- A fun choice for fans building the Beast Cookies lineup or looking for a small giftable collectible.
- Cooldown: supports more frequent Act 1: Lies casts.
- ATK%: adds damage once the skill rotation is supported.
- Damage resistance: a useful defensive roll when survivability is a concern.
There is no universal substat threshold established by the cited guides, so avoid treating a particular number of cooldown or ATK rolls as mandatory. Your current stats, team, and game mode can change the best balance.
Best Beascuit: Zesty, with stats adjusted for the mode
A Zesty Beascuit is a natural choice for a Magic cookie. For a general-purpose setup, prioritize cooldown to support skill frequency. For Arena, damage-resist bypass is a meaningful alternative emphasis, particularly when you want more pressure against durable opponents. The guides differ on how much to favor cooldown versus bypass, so there is no single required four-stat combination supported across all situations.

- Collect All 10 Charactors from Cookie Run Kingdom!
- Adorable Plush Doll Figure on Keychain
- Capsule/ball Size- 3-1/2" Diameter
Choose based on what the build needs: retain cooldown when you want a more dependable skill rotation; consider damage-resist bypass when Arena damage is the priority and your cooldown is already adequate.
When to consider an ATK build
A full ATK-oriented setup is a situational option for short Arena bursts, not the general recommendation. It shifts the build toward immediate damage and away from the repeated skill access supported by cooldown. Whether that tradeoff works depends on your roster and encounter; the available guides do not establish it as universally stronger.

Optional tart pairing
One current gear guide pairs a cooldown-oriented tart with the cooldown build and an ATK tart with the full-ATK burst setup. Treat this as a secondary pairing rather than a requirement; choose the tart that matches the build you are actually using.
Quick build comparison
| Choice | Best fit | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Five cooldown toppings | General-purpose starting build | Less emphasis on one-hit burst than a full ATK setup |
| Five ATK-oriented toppings | Situational short Arena burst | Not the broad default; results depend on team and mode |
| Cooldown-focused Zesty Beascuit | Supporting skill frequency | Competes with damage-resist-bypass emphasis for Arena damage |
| Zesty Beascuit with damage-resist bypass emphasis | Arena-oriented damage pressure against durable opponents | May be less useful if the build still needs cooldown for its desired rotation |
Shadow Milk Cookie merchandise is separate from the build
The official CookieRun Store lists a Shadow Milk Cookie plushie, and its catalog also includes a medium action figure and a Puppet Shadow Milk Cookie mini plush keychain.
