The two reported percentages total 99.9%. That can reflect rounding or an unshown part of the table, but the available result does not identify what accounts for the remaining 0.1%. Do not normalize the numbers to 100%, and do not claim that the remaining fraction represents a particular item.
Can one corrupted Giga drop both hearts?
Possibly. A Dododex community tip dated May 14, 2022 says: “If you kill a corrupted Giga there’s a chance you can get a Giga heart AND a corrupted heart.” This is a player-submitted observation, not a controlled test, so it supports the possibility of receiving both items without proving how often it happens.
The indexed wiki snippet does not explain whether its two percentages are mutually exclusive alternatives, separate rolls, or a simplified presentation of a more detailed loot table. Therefore, the safe conclusion is narrower: both heart types are associated with corrupted-Giga loot, and a community report says they can appear together. It is not safe to turn the 92.5% and 7.4% figures into a formula for the chance of getting both.

Why your result may not match the listed odds
A percentage describes a probability over many rolls, not a promise for an individual kill. Even if the published 92.5% figure exactly matched your server’s loot table, a single corrupted Giga could still fail to produce a Giganotosaurus Heart. Conversely, an unusual run of drops does not prove that the table is wrong.
There are additional reasons for differences between players:
- Edition and build: The question applies to ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Survival Ascended, but the available sources do not establish that every build uses identical corrupted-creature loot logic.
- Server settings: Official, unofficial, dedicated, non-dedicated, and single-player environments can use different configuration choices. The supplied sources do not identify a universal setting that overrides this table.
- Mods: Creature, loot, overhaul, and difficulty mods may replace or alter an encounter’s drop behavior. A wiki value from an unmodded context should not automatically be applied to a modded server.

How corrupted and normal Gigas differ for heart farming
If your only goal is a Giganotosaurus Heart, the published comparison favors the normal Giganotosaurus because its entry is described as guaranteed. The corrupted variant is still a possible source: its indexed special-loot table includes the same heart, with the listed 92.5% figure. The two creatures should therefore be considered separate loot cases rather than interchangeable versions of one guaranteed drop.
A corrupted Giga may also be relevant when you need a Corrupt Heart, because that item appears in the same special-loot distribution at a listed 7.4%. The table does not state whether obtaining a Giganotosaurus Heart prevents the Corrupt Heart from appearing, which is why the community report about receiving both matters as a possibility but cannot be converted into an exact farming expectation.

- Identify the game and edition. Record whether you are playing Survival Evolved or Survival Ascended, along with the platform and current game build shown by your launcher or server host.
- Confirm the creature is actually corrupted. Make sure the name and appearance identify a Corrupted Giganotosaurus rather than a normal Giganotosaurus. Their loot descriptions are different in the indexed table.
- Ask for the server’s configuration. On an unofficial or hosted server, ask the administrator whether creature or loot mods are enabled and whether custom drop settings are documented.
- Check mod documentation. If mods are installed, read the version-specific notes for the mod that changes creatures, loot, difficulty, or the map. A mod can supersede the base-game table.
- Record several kills. Note the number of corrupted Gigas defeated, whether a Giganotosaurus Heart appeared, whether a Corrupt Heart appeared, and whether both appeared on one corpse. This creates a local observation record without pretending it is a statistically conclusive test.
- Compare like with like. Do not combine results from different maps, servers, editions, or mod lists into one percentage. Keep each environment as a separate sample.
This process cannot prove the wiki’s figure from a small number of kills, but it can reveal an obvious mismatch caused by a mod or custom server setup.

One missing heart is compatible with a probability-based table. Check the corpse, inventory, and surrounding ground before concluding that the roll failed. If another player, tame, or server mechanic handled the corpse, the item may no longer be where you expected.

Several unsuccessful kills
A long run without the item should prompt an environment check rather than an immediate claim that the 92.5% number is false. Confirm the edition, build, server settings, and mod list. The available sources do not say that the indexed value applies unchanged to every configuration.

No heart on any corrupted Giga
If repeated kills in a controlled, unmodded environment never produce a heart, capture the details for the server administrator: map, edition, build, creature type, number of kills, and screenshots or logs if available. Compare the setup with the published table and investigate custom loot rules before spending more resources.
What is and is not established by the evidence
The strongest supported points are limited but useful:
- The indexed ARK Official Community Wiki entry lists Giganotosaurus Heart and Corrupt Heart as special loot for a Corrupted Giganotosaurus.
- That indexed result reports 92.5% for Giganotosaurus Heart and 7.4% for Corrupt Heart.
- The same comparison lists the normal Giganotosaurus’s Giganotosaurus Heart as guaranteed.
- A dated Dododex player report says both heart types can appear from one corrupted Giga.
