Yes—if you want straightforward wireless PC gaming without paying for a long feature list, the Corsair HS35 V3 Wireless is a credible pick. It combines 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth and USB wired audio, a detachable microphone and a 50mm driver. “Fantastic sounding” and “must-have” remain reviewer judgments rather than universal measurements, and the headset’s USB-only wired mode, restrained controls and manufacturer-rated battery life matter before you buy.

What the Corsair HS35 V3 Wireless actually is

The product discussed here is the Corsair HS35 V3 Wireless Gaming Headset. It is a separate model from the HS35 V3 Wired and HS35 V2. Corsair’s own comparison, updated July 31, 2026, lists the wireless version with a detachable microphone, a USB-C wireless dongle and Dolby Atmos compatibility. Check the exact “Wireless” name and SKU when shopping; a similarly named wired listing is not the same product.

The design is intentionally uncomplicated. You get a closed gaming headset, 50mm drivers, an omnidirectional detachable microphone and three ways to connect. Independent reviews broadly like its sound and comfort, but they also describe plain styling and limited controls. That makes the HS35 V3 Wireless more appealing to a player who wants to plug in and play than to someone shopping for extensive equalizer profiles, lighting or onboard controls.

Connection modes and platform support

The strongest practical feature is flexibility. Corsair lists 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth and wired connectivity, with support for PC, Mac, PlayStation, mobile devices and Nintendo Switch on the product page. The best mode depends on latency, convenience and the device you are using.

Mode Best use Important qualification
2.4GHz wireless PC gaming, where low-latency audio and the headset’s full gaming feature set matter most Corsair rates battery life at up to 30 hours at 50% volume in this mode; the figure is a manufacturer specification, not an independent runtime test.
Bluetooth Phones, tablets, portable play and situations where you do not want to use the dongle Corsair lists up to 32 hours via Bluetooth. The PC Gamer review found microphone performance better on 2.4GHz than Bluetooth in its own use.
USB wired Desk use when you want a cable or need to recharge while playing PC Gamer reports a USB-C-to-USB-A connection and no 3.5mm connection for direct gamepad use.

The absence of 3.5mm is easy to miss. If your normal setup plugs a headset directly into an Xbox, PlayStation controller or another analog jack, this model does not provide that option according to PC Gamer’s September 3, 2026 review. Its wired path is USB, so check that your target device accepts USB audio before relying on it.

Battery life: useful, but read the conditions

Corsair states up to 30 hours at 50% volume over 2.4GHz and up to 32 hours over Bluetooth on its product page. Corsair’s accompanying video also describes up to 30 hours at 50% volume. Those are ceiling figures under the manufacturer’s stated condition, not laboratory results or a promise of the same runtime at maximum volume, with a microphone active continuously, or in every firmware state.

PC Gamer describes the headset’s battery life as 30 hours and considers that shorter than some alternatives. The practical takeaway is simple: it should cover several gaming sessions, but it is not an endurance leader based on the published numbers. Keep the supplied USB cable nearby if you regularly play long sessions or forget to recharge.

Sound, microphone and comfort

Audio quality

PC Gamer’s review reports good audio and describes the headset as light and comfortable. TechRadar’s review frames the product around “comfort and quality over customisation,” while GamesRadar’s September 2026 review gives a positive assessment that emphasizes connection choices and multi-platform compatibility. These are reviewers’ listening impressions, not standardized frequency-response measurements, so treat “fantastic sounding” as a favorable opinion rather than an objective rating.

The 50mm drivers are the hardware specification Corsair publishes. Driver diameter alone does not determine tuning, imaging or bass quality, but it is consistent with the HS35 V3 Wireless being designed as a general-purpose gaming headset rather than a specialist audiophile headphone. For games, voice chat, music and video, the independent impressions point toward a pleasant all-round presentation; the sources do not establish a measured advantage over a particular rival.

Microphone behavior

The microphone is omnidirectional and detachable. Removing it is useful when you are listening to music or taking the headset on the go, and replacing it avoids the permanently attached boom found on some competing designs.

PC Gamer reports that microphone quality was better over 2.4GHz than Bluetooth in its review experience. That difference is important for mobile calls or Bluetooth chat: the headset may still work, but the reviewer’s result favors the dongle for gaming voice communication. The evidence does not establish a universal microphone ranking, so use 2.4GHz for PC team chat when possible.

Fit and weight

PC Gamer calls the headset light and comfortable, but the published weight is inconsistent. Corsair’s July 31 comparison lists 230g for both HS35 V3 Wireless and HS35 V3 Wired, while PC Gamer reports 250g for the HS35 V3 in its September review. The sources do not explain whether the difference comes from a retail SKU, a measurement method or included components.

Source Reported figure How to use it
Corsair comparison, July 31, 2026 230g for HS35 V3 Wireless and HS35 V3 Wired Official comparison figure; applies to the listed v3 variants.
PC Gamer review, September 3, 2026 250g for the HS35 V3 Independent review measurement; the exact SKU or measurement basis is not clarified.

Because of that discrepancy, do not treat one number as the definitive weight for every HS35 V3 Wireless unit. The consistent point is that PC Gamer found its sample comfortable for extended play.

Controls and software: intentionally limited

PC Gamer describes the controls as minimal, and the reviewers’ broader theme is limited customization. That can be an advantage if you dislike software suites and complicated profiles: fewer settings mean less setup before a match. It is a drawback if you expect extensive onboard mixing, programmable buttons or deep sound-shaping options.

Dolby Atmos is the main software-related feature identified in the available material. Corsair says to connect the headset through the 2.4GHz dongle and install Dolby Access on a PC. Corsair’s video description specifies that Dolby Atmos availability is PC-only. The documentation does not establish that the same feature is available through Bluetooth, USB wired mode or consoles, so do not assume those paths provide Atmos.

How to set it up on a PC

  1. Charge the headset. Use the supplied USB cable and allow enough charge for your first session. A wired USB connection can also be used when you need to play while charging.
  2. Choose 2.4GHz for gaming. Plug the USB-C dongle into a free USB port. Corsair’s comparison says the dongle fits into the provided USB-A adapter, which is useful on desktops or laptops without a USB-C port.
  3. Select the headset in Windows. Open Windows’ sound output and input controls, choose the HS35 V3 Wireless for playback and select its microphone for voice chat. In each game or chat app, verify that it has not switched back to your monitor or laptop microphone.
  4. Use Bluetooth when the dongle is inconvenient. Put the headset into Bluetooth pairing mode using its hardware controls, then select it in your computer or mobile device’s Bluetooth settings. Bluetooth is also the mode Corsair rates for up to 32 hours, although the published figure remains a manufacturer claim.
  5. Use USB wired audio when needed. Connect the headset’s USB-C port to a USB-A port with the reported USB-C-to-USB-A cable path. This is not an analog 3.5mm connection.
  6. Enable Dolby Atmos on PC, if desired. Keep the 2.4GHz dongle connected, install Dolby Access and follow its setup prompts. Corsair identifies this feature as PC-only.
  7. Test the microphone before joining a team. Record a short clip in your operating system or chat app. If Bluetooth voice quality is disappointing, switch to 2.4GHz; PC Gamer’s review found that mode clearer on its sample.

Who should buy it?

A good match

  • PC players who want wireless freedom without managing a large software ecosystem.
  • People who value three connection methods and may move between a desktop, phone and portable console.
  • Players who prefer a detachable microphone and a relatively light, comfortable design.
  • Anyone who can live with basic controls and does not require analog 3.5mm compatibility.

Look elsewhere if these are priorities

  • Direct controller audio: the reported USB-only wired design has no 3.5mm connection for a gamepad.
  • Maximum battery endurance: the published 30-hour 2.4GHz figure is respectable but shorter than some alternatives, according to PC Gamer.
  • Extensive customization: reviewers characterize the controls and customization as limited.
  • Verified weight precision: Corsair and PC Gamer publish different v3 weights, so confirm the exact SKU if grams matter to you.
  • Console Dolby Atmos: Corsair’s material identifies Atmos as a PC feature, not a universal mode across every platform.

Common pitfalls and fixes

You expected a 3.5mm cable

There is no reported 3.5mm connection. Use the USB path on a compatible device, 2.4GHz with the dongle, or Bluetooth. If your controller accepts only analog headsets, this is the wrong connection design for that setup.

The microphone sounds worse than expected

Switch from Bluetooth to 2.4GHz for PC gaming and chat; PC Gamer specifically found the microphone better in that mode. Recheck the selected input in both Windows and the game, and make sure the detachable boom is fully seated.

Dolby Atmos is unavailable

Use the 2.4GHz dongle on a PC and install Dolby Access. Corsair identifies Atmos as PC-only, so a console, Bluetooth connection or another audio path may not expose the feature.

Battery life does not match the headline number

Remember that “up to 30 hours” applies to 2.4GHz at 50% volume, while Bluetooth is listed at up to 32 hours. Higher volume and different usage patterns can reduce runtime. The figures are manufacturer specifications rather than independent tests.

You bought the wrong HS35 listing

Confirm that the listing says HS35 V3 Wireless. Corsair sells separate wireless and wired v3 versions, and the older HS35 v2 is also included in Corsair’s comparison. The model name, wireless dongle and connection description should all match before you place an order.

Price and value considerations

No current street price is established in the available material, and headset prices vary by country, color and promotion. Instead of treating “budget” as a fixed amount, compare the exact wireless SKU’s price with what you need: 2.4GHz latency, Bluetooth, detachable microphone, USB wired audio and PC Dolby Atmos support. Paying less for a wired-only model makes sense if you never need wireless; paying more for a feature-rich model may be justified if software controls or longer endurance are essential.

For the right PC player, the HS35 V3 Wireless offers a clear value proposition: three connection modes, a detachable mic, comfortable handling according to PC Gamer and broadly positive third-party sound impressions, without forcing you to learn a complicated control system. Its limitations are equally clear, so the purchase is easiest to justify when USB audio works for your devices and simple controls are a feature rather than a compromise.
