Its compromises are equally clear: Bluetooth and 2.4GHz cannot run together, there is no headset-specific EQ app, the volume control is a toggle rather than a wheel, and fit and microphone quality depend on the listener and use case. It is a sensible gaming-first choice, not a feature-rich all-purpose audio platform.
What the CORSAIR HS35 v3 Wireless is—and what it is not
The CORSAIR HS35 v3 Wireless is the wireless member of the HS35 v3 family, not the wired HS35 v3 and not the older HS35 v2. CORSAIR’s comparison, updated July 31, 2026, identifies the wireless model as the new wireless version and notes its detachable microphone; the wired v3 keeps a fixed microphone (CORSAIR’s comparison). The wireless package includes a USB wireless transmitter and a 1.8 m charging cable, according to the official product page (CORSAIR HS35 v3 Wireless product page).

Its design goal is straightforward gaming rather than extensive software control. You get three ways to connect, a detachable boom mic, fabric-covered pads and a floating headband. You do not get active noise cancellation, simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4GHz audio, or a dedicated equalizer suite.

CORSAIR’s product FAQ describes the headset this way: “The HS35 v3 Wireless features tri-mode connectivity: 2.4GHz wireless (via SLIPSTREAM USB dongle), Bluetooth®, and USB wired.” Each mode suits a different setup, but the two wireless radios are not concurrent.
#1 Best Overall
| Mode | How it connects | Best use | Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.4GHz | USB SLIPSTREAM transmitter | Low-latency PC and console gaming | Cannot operate at the same time as Bluetooth |
| Bluetooth | Pair directly with a compatible device | Phone, tablet, laptop or casual listening | Cannot operate at the same time as 2.4GHz |
| USB wired | Connect the headset with the supplied charging/data cable | Use when wireless is unavailable or you want a cable | Dolby Atmos processing is inactive in USB wired use |
If you expect to hear a phone call over Bluetooth while remaining connected to a 2.4GHz game session, this model is the wrong type of headset. Switching is possible, but mixing both sources is not.
Platform compatibility and the Switch details that matter
CORSAIR lists PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Mac and mobile support. The dongle’s physical connection changes by Switch generation:
- Original Nintendo Switch: 2.4GHz dongle support is through the console’s USB-C port in handheld mode, not through the dock.
- Nintendo Switch 2: the dongle is supported in both handheld and docked modes.
- PC: all three connection options are available, and Dolby Atmos can be enabled through Dolby Access.
- PlayStation, Mac and mobile: use the connection mode supported by the device; CORSAIR does not list PC-only Atmos processing for these platforms.
Before buying, check which USB port is available where you actually play. A Switch 1 owner who primarily plays docked should not assume the handheld dongle arrangement will work through the dock.
How to connect it
2.4GHz on PC or console
- Insert the supplied SLIPSTREAM USB transmitter into a compatible USB port. On a Switch 1, use the console’s USB-C port in handheld mode; on Switch 2, use the handheld or docked USB connection.
- Turn on the headset and select the 2.4GHz mode using its mode control.
- Set the console or computer’s audio output and microphone input to the HS35 v3 Wireless if they are not selected automatically.
- Play a short clip and speak into the microphone before a match or call so you can confirm both playback and input.
Bluetooth
- Put the headset into Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Open the Bluetooth menu on the phone, tablet, Mac or other host and select the HS35 v3 Wireless.
- Confirm the host is using the headset for both output and microphone if you plan to make calls.
- Remember that activating Bluetooth does not create a second simultaneous audio path from the 2.4GHz transmitter.
USB wired operation
- Connect the supplied 1.8 m cable to the headset and the host device.
- Select the headset as the host’s audio device if it is not chosen automatically.
- Use this mode when the battery is depleted or when a wired connection is preferable; Dolby Atmos processing is not active in this mode.
Battery life and wireless range
CORSAIR rates the battery for up to 30 hours at 50% volume over 2.4GHz and up to 32 hours over Bluetooth. These are manufacturer ratings from the product page accessed October 13, 2026, not independent endurance-test results. Higher volume, microphone use and host behavior can reduce the time between charges.
The stated wireless range is up to 60 feet (20 m) in clear line of sight. Walls, furniture, metal equipment and the position of the USB transmitter can shorten that distance. If audio cuts out at a desk, moving the transmitter to a clearer USB position is a more useful first step than assuming the rated range is defective.

Comfort and fit: promising design, individual results
CORSAIR specifies an adjustable floating headband and soft fabric ear pads. TechRadar’s reviewer praised the comfort, while ProSettings’ reviewer also found the headset light and comfortable over long sessions. Those same ProSettings notes reported high clamp force and limited adjustment room for a larger head. The practical conclusion is not that the headset is universally comfortable, but that its low-weight construction and fabric contact points are a good starting point if your head fits the available range.
The headset should therefore be judged by fit rather than by the word “comfortable” alone. A larger head may feel pressure at the sides or run out of headband travel; a smaller or average-sized head may appreciate the secure clamp. There is no named population study establishing a universal comfort score.
Sound profile and microphone trade-offs
Game audio
ProSettings characterized the tuning as more useful for competitive cues than for bass-heavy music or cinematic games. That means footsteps, reloads and positional details may be easier to prioritize than deep impact or a wide, movie-like presentation. This is a reviewer impression, not a measured frequency-response conclusion.
The headset uses 50 mm neodymium drivers and lists a 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response. Those specifications describe the hardware’s stated range; they do not predict exactly how every listener will perceive bass, treble or soundstage.
Microphone
Microphone impressions differ by task. ProSettings called it adequate for quick gaming chat but weak for longer meetings or content creation. TechRadar’s reviewer reported strong results in Google Meet and Discord. Treat that split as a use-case warning: it may be entirely sufficient for squad communication, while people recording videos, streaming or spending hours in meetings may want a more consistent microphone solution.
Rank #3
The boom is detachable, so you can remove it when listening privately or traveling. That is a functional difference from the wired HS35 v3, whose microphone CORSAIR describes as fixed.
Controls, software and spatial audio
TechRadar notes that the headset has no companion software and uses a toggle-style volume adjustment rather than a conventional scroll wheel. ProSettings likewise reports no app for EQ. You can still adjust system volume and use the headset’s physical controls, but you cannot load a headset-specific equalizer profile or tune separate game and music presets through an official HS35 application.
PC users have one additional option: CORSAIR documents Dolby Atmos spatial audio through the Dolby Access app. Atmos requires Dolby Access and is limited to PC. CORSAIR says the processing is inactive on consoles, mobile devices and USB wired use. That makes Atmos a host-dependent PC feature, not a universal hardware mode.
There is also no active noise-cancelling hardware. The fabric pads and closed headset design may reduce some ambient sound physically, but they should not be presented as ANC.
Specifications and the unresolved weight discrepancy
| Specification | Published detail | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Drivers | 50 mm neodymium | CORSAIR specification |
| Frequency response | 20 Hz–20 kHz | CORSAIR listed range |
| Battery, 2.4GHz | Up to 30 hours at 50% volume | Manufacturer rating, not an independent test |
| Battery, Bluetooth | Up to 32 hours | Manufacturer rating, not an independent test |
| Wireless range | Up to 60 ft / 20 m line of sight | Obstacles can reduce range |
| Weight | 250 g on the SKU product page; 250 g in TechRadar | CORSAIR’s comparison article lists 230 g, so published figures conflict |
| Microphone | Detachable boom | Wireless v3 feature; wired v3 microphone is fixed |
| Spatial audio | Dolby Atmos on PC through Dolby Access | Inactive on consoles, mobile and USB wired use |
The safest current weight to use is 250 g because that figure appears on the SKU-specific CORSAIR page and in TechRadar’s review. CORSAIR’s separate comparison article gives 230 g for the wireless model; until CORSAIR reconciles those pages, do not treat 230 g as settled.

Price and value in context
Prices below are historical figures, not live quotes. TechRadar listed the headset at $79.99, £69.99 and AU$124.99 in its August 2026 review. Tom’s Hardware reported a $79.99 US launch price for the wireless model on June 3, 2026, alongside a $49.99 launch price for the wired version (TechRadar; Tom’s Hardware). Check the current regional listing before purchase, because retailer stock and pricing can change.
At those historical prices, the value proposition is the combination of three connection modes, broad platform coverage, a detachable microphone and a light design. You are paying less for customization: there is no EQ application, no simultaneous Bluetooth/2.4GHz mixing and no ANC.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How it compares with nearby alternatives
TechRadar’s comparison places the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 and JBL Quantum 360X in a nearby price category and describes software customization as a differentiator. Current prices and availability were not established in the cited material, so use that comparison as a checklist rather than a live buying table. Ask whether you need:
- an equalizer and profile storage;
- more extensive microphone controls for meetings or content creation;
- simultaneous wireless sources;
- a different clamp or headband range;
- spatial-audio support beyond PC Dolby Access.
If those features matter more than simple tri-mode connectivity, a software-focused alternative may justify its extra complexity. If they do not, the HS35 v3 Wireless keeps the setup shorter and easier to understand.
Who should buy it?
A good fit for
- Players who switch among PC, console, Switch, Mac and mobile devices.
- Anyone who wants 2.4GHz latency for games but also needs Bluetooth for a phone or tablet at separate times.
- Gamers who prefer fabric pads, a floating headband and a relatively light 250 g design.
- Users whose voice-chat needs are mainly short in-game conversations.
- PC players willing to use Dolby Access for Atmos rather than a headset EQ app.
Look elsewhere if
- You require Bluetooth and 2.4GHz audio simultaneously.
- You need active noise cancellation for travel or a noisy office.
- You want deep EQ control, saved profiles or a companion desktop/mobile app.
- You have a large head and are sensitive to clamp pressure or limited adjustment travel.
- Your main use is long meetings, streaming or polished content production where microphone consistency is critical.
Practical troubleshooting
No sound after plugging in the dongle
Confirm that the headset is in 2.4GHz mode, then choose it explicitly as the operating system or console output. On Switch 1, verify that the transmitter is connected to the handheld USB-C port rather than the dock.
Best Value
- It can be a gift option
- Comes with secure packaging
- Helpful in various ways
Bluetooth will not connect while gaming wirelessly
That behavior is expected when 2.4GHz is active. Disconnect or switch modes before pairing Bluetooth; the headset does not mix both wireless links.
Shorter battery life than the advertised figure
The 30-hour and 32-hour numbers assume the manufacturer’s stated conditions, including 50% volume for the 2.4GHz figure. Reduce volume, recharge with the supplied cable and remember that real runtime varies with usage.
Sound drops at distance
Move the USB transmitter into clearer line of sight and reduce obstacles between it and the headset. The 20 m figure is a maximum clear-line-of-sight rating, not a guarantee through walls.
Verdict
The CORSAIR HS35 v3 Wireless earns consideration as a comfortable-by-design, practical budget gaming headset when your priorities are uncomplicated 2.4GHz play, separate Bluetooth access, USB fallback and broad device support. Its limits are easy to identify: comfort varies with head shape, microphone quality depends on the task, controls and EQ are basic, and the wireless modes cannot be combined. Buy it for the essentials and the detachable mic; skip it if customization, ANC, simultaneous sources or production-grade voice capture are central to your setup.
