Verdict: The standard Corsair VOID Wireless v2 is a good fit for PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and mobile players who value a lightweight headset, low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth and Dolby Atmos support. Its compromises are decisive for some buyers: it has no wired audio mode, the boom microphone is neither detachable nor retractable, and the standard model does not support Xbox.
At launch, Corsair positioned it as a $119.99 headset, but that was a US launch price announced on April 17, 2025, not a guarantee of today’s price or stock. Treat the battery figures as manufacturer claims, and separate those specifications from reviewers’ subjective impressions of comfort, sound and controls.

What the Corsair VOID Wireless v2 is
The VOID Wireless v2 is a mid-range gaming headset built around two wireless connections. Its USB receiver provides the low-latency 2.4 GHz link used for gaming, while Bluetooth handles phones, tablets and other compatible devices. Corsair says you can switch between the two with a button press, so the headset is aimed at players who want one device for a console or computer and a mobile connection.
Corsair announced the headset on April 17, 2025, in carbon and white finishes. The launch announcement listed compatibility with PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, plus a two-year warranty and a $119.99 US launch price. Those are launch terms; regional warranty coverage, retailer stock and the price you see today need to be checked separately. The announcement is available in Corsair’s newsroom at Corsair’s launch announcement.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
This is the standard VOID Wireless v2, not one of Corsair’s later VOID v2 MAX variants. The distinction matters most for Xbox buyers: testing reported by TechRadar identifies the standard headset as supporting PS4 and PS5 but not Xbox. Do not assume a MAX listing has the same platform behavior or features.
Key specifications and claims
| Feature | VOID Wireless v2 information | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Wireless connections | Low-latency 2.4 GHz through a USB receiver and Bluetooth | Useful for gaming plus a phone or tablet; Corsair says switching is available at a button press. |
| Drivers | Custom-tuned 50 mm neodymium drivers | A manufacturer specification, not a measurement of sound quality. |
| Spatial audio | Dolby Atmos support | On PC, TechRadar describes Dolby Access setup; PS5 use can involve Tempest 3D Audio. |
| Microphone | Omnidirectional flip-to-mute boom | The boom rotates up, but reviewers report that it is not detachable or retractable. |
| Battery claim | Up to 70 hours of play; 15 minutes of charging for up to six hours of use | Maximum manufacturer figures that vary with volume, lighting and connection mode. |
| Bluetooth battery claim | Up to 130 hours, as reported by Tom’s Hardware from Corsair’s specification | A separate Bluetooth-rated maximum, not a universal result for 2.4 GHz gaming. |
| Stated device families | PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and mobile | Xbox is not supported by the standard model according to TechRadar’s review. |
| Launch terms | $119.99 US; two-year warranty | Announced launch terms from April 17, 2025; verify current local price and warranty. |

Platform compatibility and setup
PC and Mac
For a computer, connect the supplied USB receiver, power on the headset and select the VOID Wireless v2 as the operating system’s output and input device. Use 2.4 GHz for the lowest-latency game audio. Bluetooth is useful when the computer supports it and you prefer to leave the receiver connected to another device, but the practical latency and feature behavior can differ from the dedicated receiver.
Dolby processing is platform-specific. TechRadar describes Dolby Access on PC, so install or open that software only if you want to configure Dolby Atmos on a compatible Windows setup. The headset’s 50 mm drivers will still produce stereo audio without a spatial-audio profile.
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
TechRadar identifies PS4 and PS5 support for the standard model. Insert the USB receiver into the console and choose the headset for game and chat output in the console’s audio settings. On PS5, the review discusses Tempest 3D Audio as the console’s spatial-audio path rather than treating Dolby Atmos setup as identical to PC. If a console does not recognize the receiver, move it to a direct USB port instead of a hub and confirm that the headset is powered on before changing system output settings.
Nintendo Switch
Corsair lists Nintendo Switch among the supported device families. The wireless receiver is the relevant connection for game audio; the exact port available depends on whether the Switch is docked or handheld. Check that your particular Switch setup exposes a compatible USB connection before buying if you mainly play in handheld mode.

Mobile devices
Pair over Bluetooth when using a phone or tablet. Put the headset into Bluetooth pairing according to its controls, select it in the device’s Bluetooth menu and use the Bluetooth link for calls, music or games. This avoids carrying the USB receiver, but the headset’s microphone and battery behavior will follow the mobile device’s Bluetooth profile.
Xbox
The standard VOID Wireless v2 is the wrong choice if Xbox support is a requirement. TechRadar’s compatibility assessment says Xbox is unsupported, and the USB receiver should not be treated as a universal Xbox wireless adapter. Check the exact model name before purchasing because Corsair’s VOID v2 family also includes MAX variants aimed at different platform requirements.

The headset’s main advantage is the combination of a dedicated 2.4 GHz receiver and Bluetooth. A 2.4 GHz link is the sensible choice for competitive or timing-sensitive games, while Bluetooth makes the headset more convenient away from the console or PC. Corsair says the two modes can be switched with a button press, allowing a phone connection to remain available without replacing the gaming receiver.
Corsair advertises up to 70 hours of play and says a 15-minute quick charge can provide up to six hours of use. Tom’s Hardware reports an additional Corsair rating of up to 130 hours over Bluetooth. These figures are maxima, not guaranteed runtimes: volume level, RGB lighting, microphone use, wireless mode and other settings change consumption. Tom’s Hardware tested over 2.4 GHz with lighting on and charged once during a week of use; that is a single reviewer’s observation, not a promised number of days between charges.
There is no wired audio fallback. When the battery is empty, plugging in a charging cable does not turn the headset into a conventional USB or analog wired headset according to Tom’s Hardware. Plan charging around that limitation if you play long sessions or travel without a reliable power source. The quick-charge claim is useful for an emergency top-up, but it does not remove the need to recharge before a long session.

Comfort, fit and physical design
Comfort is the strongest consistent theme in the independent reviews. TechRadar reports comfortable long sessions, while WIRED says the headset fit a larger head without reaching the end of its adjustment range. WIRED also liked the breathable, mesh-like cushion material. PC Gamer praises the low weight, which can matter more than small differences in padding when a headset is worn for several hours.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThose are reviewer experiences rather than a guarantee for every head shape. PC Gamer describes a plastic feel and notes that fabric may not suit every user. Fabric-like cushions can feel cooler than sealed synthetic leather, but personal preference, glasses and local climate all affect the result. If you dislike cloth contact or want a more substantial premium finish, handle the headset in person when possible.
Corsair provides instructions for changing the VOID Wireless v2 earpads, which gives owners a maintenance path as cushions wear. The available evidence does not establish a particular replacement SKU or say that spare cushions are included, so confirm compatibility before ordering any pads.
Sound quality and spatial audio
What the hardware promises
The 50 mm neodymium drivers are custom-tuned by Corsair, and Dolby Atmos support is part of the product specification. Driver diameter alone does not predict tuning, imaging or distortion, so treat it as a component description rather than a performance score.
What reviewers heard
WIRED’s reviewer praised the level of detail and spatial presentation in the games tested and gave the headset an 8/10 rating. PC Gamer reached a more restrained conclusion, calling the default sound passable rather than top-tier. Those assessments are not contradictory measurements: they reflect different ears, games, equalizer settings and expectations. The safe conclusion is that the VOID Wireless v2 can deliver enjoyable, positioned game audio, but it is not established as a class-leading music or audiophile headset.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
On PC, Dolby Access is the software route described by TechRadar. On PS5, Tempest 3D Audio is the relevant console feature mentioned in that review. Spatial processing can change positional cues and tonal balance, so compare the game’s native mix, stereo output and spatial mode rather than assuming Atmos is automatically best for every title.
Microphone and chat performance
Corsair specifies an omnidirectional microphone and advertises NVIDIA Broadcast microphone noise-reduction technology. TechRadar’s reviewer reports that friends heard clear voice feedback during testing, which is a practical positive for party chat. Because that result is a reviewer’s listening experience rather than a laboratory noise measurement, room acoustics, microphone position and the selected software filter still matter.
The boom rotates upward for flip-to-mute, but it does not detach or retract. Tom’s Hardware reports that the boom can catch hair or strike the reviewer’s face, and TechRadar likewise says it rotates without becoming removable. That design is convenient for muting and keeps the microphone attached, but it remains visible and cannot be removed for a cleaner appearance or easier storage.

WIRED found the button arrangement confusing and described a mixture of voice prompts and beeps. Give yourself a short familiarization session before relying on the headset in a match: identify power, wireless-mode switching, volume and mute by touch, then test the flip-to-mute position while wearing it. A control layout that feels obvious on a desk can be harder to distinguish once the headset is on your head.

The receiver-based connection avoids a separate analog cable and keeps game audio independent of a phone’s Bluetooth stack. Conversely, the lack of wired mode means there is no simple fallback for a dead battery, a device with an incompatible wireless stack or a situation in which radio connections are restricted.

What is in the box and what you do not need to buy
TechRadar reports that a charging cable is included. That means an additional cable is not a necessary accessory purchase for normal charging. The headset requires its USB wireless receiver for 2.4 GHz operation, so keep that small receiver with the headset when moving it between systems.
No specific receiver replacement, repair part or compatible third-party earpad SKU is established here. If a receiver is lost or cushions eventually wear out, check Corsair’s support documentation for the exact VOID Wireless v2 model rather than assuming parts from another VOID headset will work.
Price, warranty and buying timing
Corsair’s April 17, 2025 announcement listed a $119.99 US launch price and a two-year warranty. TechRadar’s review cites launch or list pricing of $119.99 in the US, £99.99 in the UK and AU$189 in Australia. Launch figures are useful for positioning the headset, but they are not a current price promise. Retail discounts, taxes, regional stock and warranty terms can change.

- That the listing says VOID Wireless v2, not a VOID v2 MAX model or an older VOID Wireless generation.
- That the listed platform support matches your system, especially if you use Xbox.
- That the price, stock status and warranty terms apply to your country and the exact seller.
Who should buy it
- Buy it for mixed-device wireless: The combination of 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth suits a PC or PlayStation player who also takes calls or listens from a phone.
- Buy it for a light, cool-wearing fit: Independent reviewers consistently liked the low weight, and WIRED found it accommodating for a larger head.
- Buy it for console spatial audio: Dolby Atmos support is specified, with Dolby Access discussed for PC and Tempest 3D Audio for PS5.
- Skip it if wired backup matters: The headset has no wired audio mode, even while charging.
- Skip it if you need a removable microphone: The boom rotates up but is not detachable or retractable.
- Skip the standard model for Xbox: TechRadar’s review identifies Xbox as unsupported.
- Look elsewhere for a premium sound-first experience: PC Gamer’s assessment of the default tuning is passable rather than top-tier, even though WIRED found strong detail and spatial presentation.
Decision guide against your priorities
| Your priority | How the VOID Wireless v2 fits |
|---|---|
| One headset for gaming and a phone | Strong fit because it combines 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth with button-based switching. |
| Lowest possible weight for long sessions | Promising; WIRED and PC Gamer both praise comfort or low weight, with WIRED specifically noting a larger-head fit. |
| Xbox compatibility | Poor fit for the standard model; TechRadar reports Xbox support is absent. |
| Emergency wired operation | Poor fit because Tom’s Hardware reports no wired audio mode. |
| Removable microphone for storage or streaming aesthetics | Poor fit because the boom is non-detachable and non-retractable. |
| Spatial audio on PC or PS5 | Good fit when configured through the platform’s supported software or audio system. |
| Premium, universally agreed sound | Uncertain; WIRED was enthusiastic, while PC Gamer found the default presentation merely passable. |
Final assessment
The Corsair VOID Wireless v2 earns its place as a practical dual-wireless headset rather than an all-purpose replacement for every gaming setup. Its low weight, larger-head comfort reports, 2.4 GHz receiver, Bluetooth option and spatial-audio support cover the needs of many PC and PlayStation players. The decision turns on three hard limits: no Xbox support for the standard model, no wired audio fallback and a permanently attached boom microphone. If those limits do not conflict with your setup, the headset’s launch positioning and reviewer impressions make it a sensible mid-range option; if any one is a requirement, choose a model designed around that feature instead.
