Your first routine in Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit
The most useful early habit is to treat each play session as one connected set of errands. Several bears may ask for materials that appear in the same areas, and accepting everything before you leave camp reduces repeated trips across the island.

1. Collect every available quest
At the start of a session, speak to the bears with quest markers and accept their requests before gathering. Keep the quest list open while you travel. An item collected for one bear may also satisfy another request, and seeing the active objectives prevents you from overlooking a needed material.

Mailbox notes are not only messages. Characters can send gifts with them, so inspect each new item before deciding what to do. A new object may be appropriate for Tallow’s archival cabinet, useful as a present, or worth selling to Mr. Kit. Selling immediately can remove an item you later need for a collection or relationship task.

3. Gather while you move between objectives
Pick fruit, fish, catch critters, and collect visible resources during ordinary travel instead of making separate “farming” circuits. Use the tool that matches the object in front of you; shovels, machetes, and pickaxes can remain in your backpack and are selected contextually when you interact with a dirt mound, shrubbery, or rock.
4. Turn in work, visit Mr. Kit, and feed Flamey
When your quest items are ready, return them to the relevant bear. Visit Mr. Kit to sell surplus items or handle store business, then feed Flamey when you are ready to close the session. This is a practical rhythm suggested by the official beginner guide, not a requirement to complete every possible task before logging out.
How to decide what to do with every item
Early inventory space is limited, so make a decision rather than keeping everything indefinitely. The same category of object can have different value depending on your current quests, collection progress, and relationships.

Donating a new item to Tallow is specifically described as a way to earn coins. It can therefore be a better first use than selling a unique object, provided no quest needs it. With common duplicates, selling to Mr. Kit is the straightforward way to turn spare resources into spending money.

Badges: claim the rewards, do not turn them into a chore
Badges accumulate through normal play. Milestones include digging, gaining companions, spending coins, and improving critter-catching skills. Open the badge view whenever a notification appears and claim the completed rewards; coins, gems, and rarities are useful precisely because they arrive while you are already playing.
The official beginner guidance does not present badge grinding as necessary. If a badge asks for an activity you already enjoy, let it complete naturally. Repeating an action solely to force a badge can consume time and resources better spent on quests, collections, or upgrades.
Tent or store upgrades: choose for the bottleneck you actually have
Funds become more demanding as you progress, and later upgrades for both the tent and Mr. Kit’s store can cost six figures. There is no published return-on-investment ranking that makes one universally correct, so compare what is limiting your play at the moment.

Treat this as a personal progression choice, not an optimization puzzle: the guide establishes the high cost of later tiers but does not provide numerical income or payback comparisons.

Controls and equipment on mobile
The interface provides a backpack, primary equipment slots, quest slots, a badge view, and zoom controls. Equip frequently aimed tools in the primary slot so they are ready when you encounter a target; leave contextual gathering tools in the backpack.
Movement and interaction
- Tap a location to walk there.
- Tap and hold to follow the cursor.
- Double-tap and hold to run.
- Tap an object or character to interact.
Fishing and throwing
- Place the fishing rod or throwable item in the primary equipment slot.
- Tap and hold on the Scout.
- Drag in the direction you want to aim.
- Release to cast or throw.
- While fishing, tap to reel when the fish pulls the lure; a large splash indicates the moment to react.
Dragging controls both the direction and the reach of the action. If a cast misses, reposition the Scout instead of repeatedly tapping: the hold-and-drag gesture is the intended input.
Catching critters with the net
- Stand beside the critter without starting too far away.
- Equip the net in the primary slot.
- Tap and hold.
- Drag away from the critter.
- Release to swing the net.
Approach first, then make one controlled drag. Switching to the net after you are already moving past a critter makes the timing harder.

Equip the powerwashing tool, drag to aim at the dirty object or structure, and keep holding until the cleaning is complete. Releasing early interrupts the process, so maintain the hold while the target is being washed.

Dowsing for relics
- Equip the dowsing rod.
- Read the distance icon: a snowflake means you are far from a relic, while a fire means you are closer.
- Move in the direction that strengthens the fire indicator.
- When the fire icon grows, look for an X on the ground.
- Tap the X to collect the relic.
The icon is a directional clue, not a precise map marker. Make broad moves while the signal is weak, then take smaller steps once the fire grows.
Contextual shovel, machete, and pickaxe use
Keep these basic tools in the backpack. Tap the relevant dirt mound, shrubbery, or rock and the game supplies the appropriate gathering interaction. This keeps the primary slot available for fishing, throwing, nets, cameras, and dowsing.

- Sell safe duplicates to Mr. Kit.
- Open the badge view and claim completed rewards.
- Compare the next tent and store upgrade before committing your coins.
- Turn in completed quests and feed Flamey when you are finished for the day.
This sequence leaves room for relaxed exploration. You do not need to empty every resource node or complete every badge in one sitting; the island is designed for returning on later days.

Because platform support and regional catalogs can change, verify the current Netflix Help Center listing for your country before installing or switching devices. A failed install on an older phone is a compatibility issue, not an in-game progression problem.
Common early mistakes and how to recover
Selling a unique item too quickly
If you sell before checking quests, gifts, and Tallow’s cabinet, you may have to wait for another copy. Recover by reading every new request first and reserving unusual items until their purpose is clear.
Leaving rewards unclaimed
Completed badges do not help your wallet or collection until you open the badge view and claim them. Make that screen part of your end-of-session routine.
Using the wrong primary tool
If a cast, throw, or net swing will not start, equip the relevant item in the primary slot. The shovel, machete, and pickaxe are intended for contextual backpack use, so placing everything in the active slot only creates unnecessary switching.
Trying to play offline
The mobile version requires internet for installation and does not support offline play. Plan sessions with a connection; cloud saves help you move between supported devices but do not remove that requirement.
Spending every coin on the first upgrade
Later tent and store tiers can reach six-figure prices. Before buying, decide whether storage/decorating space or store progression addresses your current bottleneck and keep enough currency for ordinary requests.
What progress should feel like
Camp Spirit rewards consistency: accept overlapping quests, make useful stops while traveling, and return on subsequent days. The strongest early strategy is not a high-speed grind but a repeatable loop that protects unique items, turns ordinary milestones into badge rewards, and spends coins on the upgrade that removes your current constraint.
