For a small Create Live 6 group, start with 6–8 GB of server memory; for 10 or more players, plan on 10–12 GB. Create Live 6 runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge, and the pack has a separate server release. You can deploy it through a managed Minecraft host or install and administer the files yourself. Create Live 6 is a Minecraft modpack authored by Blizzor. Its core gameplay is based on Create, with Ars Nouveau as a secondary core mod. The hosting listing identifies it as a NeoForge pack for Minecraft 1.21.1, created on June 5, 2025 and updated on June 29, 2025. CurseForge lists a separate Create Live 6 Server v1.3.0 release for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge dated June 29, 2025.
Those details matter because a server is not interchangeable with a vanilla Minecraft installation or a Forge installation. Every participant needs a client that matches the server’s Minecraft version, loader and modpack release. A client on a different Create Live 6 version can fail during login, report missing or mismatched mods, or produce inconsistent world behaviour.

Because modpack listings can change after a server has been created, record the exact release you install. Do not update the server and clients independently; choose a maintenance window and move all sides to the same release.

No cited source establishes a guaranteed CPU model, Java version, storage minimum, network port, benchmark or universal maximum player count. Memory alone cannot predict whether a server will keep up with world ticks. A machine with enough RAM can still lag if its CPU is overloaded, if the world is generating terrain rapidly or if a mod creates excessive block-entity work.
Allocate memory without starving the host
Leave operating-system memory and headroom for the host panel, backup process and monitoring tools. On a self-hosted machine, do not assign all installed RAM to Java. On a managed plan, check whether the advertised amount is dedicated to your instance and whether the panel’s value is a hard limit or a target. If the process repeatedly approaches its limit, increase the plan or allocation; if the server has ample free memory but tick time is poor, investigate CPU and world activity instead of adding RAM blindly.

Choose managed hosting or self-hosting
The two approaches can run the same pack, but they transfer different responsibilities. Managed hosting is usually the shortest path to a persistent server. Self-hosting can reduce recurring service fees and gives you direct access to the machine, but you become the administrator.

There is no evidence here that one option is inherently faster. Performance depends on the actual CPU, storage, network path, workload and player behaviour. Pick managed hosting when reduced administration and persistent availability matter most. Pick self-hosting when you already operate a suitable machine and want complete control over files and services.
Managed hosting: deployment procedure
The exact labels differ by provider, so treat the following as a safe sequence rather than a promise of universal button names. The researched provider advertises one-click installation for this pack.
- Check the plan before ordering. Confirm that the plan supports NeoForge and Minecraft 1.21.1, provides at least 6–8 GB for your initial group, and states its CPU allocation, storage type, region, backup policy and Java runtime. Ask how the provider handles a later move to 10–12 GB.
- Create the instance from the control panel. Select Create Live 6, verify the displayed Minecraft and NeoForge versions, and select the documented server release rather than a similarly named vanilla or Forge template.
- Review the generated files and startup settings. Confirm the memory limit, Java runtime, server release and any acceptance or first-run steps shown by the panel. Do not overwrite files until the initial start has completed or the pack’s instructions say otherwise.
- Start once and read the console. Wait for the server to finish its first initialization. Save the console output if it stops, reports a missing dependency or indicates a version mismatch.
- Configure the world and access controls. Set the world options exposed by the server, grant operator status only to trusted accounts, and enable a whitelist if the server is private. Use the configuration files or console commands documented for the installed release; filenames and ports are not universal.
- Set backups before inviting players. Identify where backups are stored, how many versions are retained and whether a restore can be performed without opening a support ticket. Keep at least one copy outside the live server.
- Test with one client. Join using the exact Create Live 6 release, Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge combination. Check block interaction, Create machines, Ars Nouveau content, chunk loading and a server restart before announcing the address.
- Invite the group and observe load. Watch memory usage, CPU utilisation, tick or timing indicators and console warnings while players explore. Increase resources only when the measurements show a sustained limit or when the workload grows.
Self-hosting: install and administration sequence
CurseForge is the documented distribution source for the Create Live 6 pack and its server release in the material available for this guide. Download the current server package and follow the instructions included with that release. Do not substitute a generic Minecraft server jar or assume that a Steam server tool installs this pack.

- Prepare the machine. Use a system you can leave online, with at least the starting memory allocation plus operating-system headroom. Apply operating-system updates, create a separate account for the server process where practical, and choose a storage location with enough room for the world, logs and multiple backups.
- Obtain the matching server release. From the current CurseForge listing, select the Create Live 6 server release that corresponds to the clients. Keep the downloaded archive and release number so you can reproduce or roll back the installation.
- Read the included setup instructions. Run the pack’s installer or startup procedure exactly as documented. The available sources do not establish a universal filename, command, Java version or launch argument, so do not copy a command intended for another pack.
- Complete first-run requirements. If the server creates an agreement or configuration file, complete it according to the included instructions, then start the server again and wait for a clean initialization.
- Set permissions and privacy. Configure the world, operator accounts and whitelist from the server’s documented controls. Use unique administrative credentials and avoid giving operator access to every player.
- Secure the network boundary. Permit only the server’s actual listening port through the host firewall and router, using the port shown by your configuration rather than assuming a default. Keep the operating system patched and do not expose unrelated services.
- Automate and verify backups. Stop or pause writes as required by the pack’s guidance, copy the world and relevant configuration to separate storage, retain multiple dated generations and perform a test restore before relying on the schedule.
- Run a private acceptance test. Join locally or from a trusted remote connection, test a restart and verify that a restored backup loads. Only then distribute the connection details to the wider group.
Why SteamCMD is not the Create Live 6 installer
Steam’s generic server documentation distinguishes a listen server, a Steam dedicated server and a stand-alone dedicated server, with stand-alone servers aimed at advanced users hosting internet games. It also describes SteamCMD as a tool for downloading and updating Steam game-server files. Create Live 6 is a Minecraft NeoForge pack, not a Steam title, so that documentation does not provide a valid SteamCMD install command for this server. Use the pack’s CurseForge distribution and included server procedure instead.
Networking, security and access
Use the address and port actually assigned
A hosted panel normally displays the connection address and port. A self-hosted instance obtains its listening port from the server configuration and your router or firewall mapping. The cited material does not specify a universal Create Live 6 port; publishing an invented default can send players to the wrong service or expose an unintended one.
Restrict administration
- Give operator privileges only to people who need them.
- Use a whitelist for a private friends’ server.
- Protect the hosting-panel account with a unique password and available multi-factor authentication.
- Keep server, loader and operating-system files updated through a planned maintenance window.
- Do not download replacement mods from unverified mirrors; verify that each addition supports Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
Understand what DDoS protection means
The researched managed service advertises DDoS protection. That is an infrastructure feature, not a guarantee that every attack, exploit or misconfiguration is harmless. Ask what traffic is covered, whether protection is included at the selected plan size and how an incident is handled. A self-hosted server has no equivalent protection unless you arrange it separately.
Keeping clients, server and mods aligned
When a player cannot connect, first compare the three identifiers that must match: Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge and the exact Create Live 6 release. Then compare the mod list and configuration files. A client-side visual or performance mod may be optional, but a gameplay mod that changes registries, world generation or network packets generally must be present in the correct version on the server and clients.

Adding an extra NeoForge mod
- Check the mod’s file page for explicit Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge support.
- Read its dependency list and confirm that dependencies do not replace or downgrade Create Live 6 components.
- Back up the world before installation.
- Install the identical compatible file on the server and every client that will join, unless the mod is explicitly client-only.
- Start the server without players, read the console for dependency or registry errors, and test a new area before returning to the main world.
Removing a content or world-generation mod after it has been used can leave blocks, entities or dimensions that the server no longer understands. Treat additions and removals as changes requiring a backup and rollback plan.

The server runs out of memory
Symptoms include repeated garbage-collection pauses, an out-of-memory error or a process restart. Confirm that the panel or launch configuration is actually granting the intended 6–8 GB or 10–12 GB, then check whether a new mod, a large exploration session or an unusually high player count caused the increase. Raise the allocation only if the host has headroom; otherwise move to a larger plan or machine.

Players experience tick lag despite free RAM
Free memory does not prove that the CPU can complete each tick on time. Look for a CPU limit, rapid chunk generation, large Create contraptions, many loaded machines or entity-heavy areas. Test with players stationary, then while exploring, to distinguish a world-generation spike from a permanent workload. The available sources contain no benchmark, so compare measurements from your own workload rather than quoting a universal player limit.
Login reports missing or mismatched mods
Compare the client and server release numbers, Minecraft version and NeoForge loader first. Then compare each mod file and dependency. Do not “fix” the error by copying a random jar from another pack; obtain the matching file from the pack’s release and follow its instructions.

The server stops during startup
Save the complete console output, identify the first error rather than the final cascade, and check for an incorrect Java runtime, a missing dependency, a damaged download or a mod built for another Minecraft version. Restore the last known-good backup or remove the most recent change, then retest with no players connected.
The world or configuration is lost
A backup that has never been restored is only an assumption. Keep dated copies outside the live directory, test a restore on a separate instance and document who can perform the recovery. For managed hosting, ask whether snapshots include the world, configuration and mod files or only the virtual machine.

Choose managed hosting when the group wants a server that remains online without leaving a personal computer running, when nobody wants to configure router and firewall rules, or when provider-level DDoS mitigation and support are worth the recurring fee. Before paying, verify the plan’s current RAM and CPU limits, region, Java runtime, backup retention, restore process and supported Create Live 6 release.
Choose self-hosting when you have a reliable always-on machine, understand basic system administration and want direct control over files, automation and compatible NeoForge additions. Budget time for patching, monitoring, backups and troubleshooting; those duties do not disappear because the server is for friends.
For either choice, begin with the matching Create Live 6 server release, allocate 6–8 GB for a small group, test privately, and increase toward 10–12 GB when ten or more players or a heavier world makes the measurements justify it. Keep the clients and server on Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge until you deliberately plan a coordinated upgrade.
