To host Create: Perfect World 2 with friends, install the matching Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge server pack, launch the files it provides, and give every player the identical Forge client profile. Hosting from your own computer costs no server fee but requires firewall, router, backup, and uptime work. A managed host removes most networking tasks for a recurring charge.

What Create: Perfect World 2 requires
CurseForge describes Create: Perfect World 2 as a lightweight, Create-focused Vanilla+ modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1, assembled by MrBeardstone and his mod team. Its content is built around Create and includes a questline plus storage, building, farming, exploration, and performance improvements. The listed mods include Create: Steam and Rails, Copycats+, Chipped, Sophisticated Backpacks, JEI, Storage Drawers, Farmer’s Delight, Aquaculture 2, Naturalist, and Macaw’s building mods.
The project’s files target Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. The principal 0.5 client archive, Create Perfect World 2-0.5.zip, was uploaded on October 28, 2024. The corresponding dedicated-server archive is listed as SERVER Create- Perfect World 2-0.5.zip under Minecraft 1.20 server packs. Those two archives are not interchangeable.

| Item | Required value | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft edition | Java Edition | The pack and Forge server loader are Java-based. |
| Minecraft version | 1.20.1 | A different game version can produce missing-mod or loader errors. |
| Mod loader | Forge | Both the dedicated server and every client must use Forge. |
| Server download | SERVER Create- Perfect World 2-0.5.zip |
This archive contains the server layout and startup files. |
| Client download | Create Perfect World 2-0.5.zip |
Players use the client profile, not the server archive. |
CurseForge reported 358,312 project downloads when accessed in 2026; the 0.5 client file itself showed 231.2K downloads. Those figures indicate adoption, not a guarantee that every release has identical files, so verify the version label whenever you download.
Choose between self-hosting and managed hosting
The right choice depends less on the modpack than on who will keep the world available. Self-hosting gives you direct access to every file and avoids a hosting subscription. Managed hosting puts the server in a provider’s data center and supplies a control panel, support, and usually automated backups.
Recommended Free Tools
| Decision factor | Self-hosted computer | Managed host |
|---|---|---|
| Recurring cost | No server fee; you supply the computer, electricity, and Internet connection. | Monthly plan required. Prices and supported packs vary by provider and date. |
| Initial work | Install Java/Forge files, extract the server pack, accept the EULA, configure properties, and test. | Choose a supported pack and plan in a web control panel; the provider handles the base machine. |
| Network exposure | Normally requires forwarding TCP port 25565 and allowing Java through the firewall. | Players connect to the provider’s address; no home-router rule is normally needed. |
| File control | Complete control over mods, configs, worlds, logs, and backups. | Control depends on the host; SFTP or a file manager may be available. |
| Availability | The world is online only while your computer and connection are running. | Designed for persistent uptime, subject to the provider’s plan and maintenance. |
When self-hosting is the better fit
Use your own computer when the group is small, sessions happen at predictable times, and someone can leave the machine running. It is also the best route when you want to inspect configs, add approved server-side changes, or keep local copies of the world. Your upload bandwidth and home network stability matter more than download speed because every remote player receives world updates from the host.
When managed hosting is worth paying for
Choose a managed service when friends need to join while you are away, nobody wants to configure a router, or you want provider-side support and scheduled backups. Confirm that the provider offers the exact Create: Perfect World 2 server-pack filename before paying; a generic Forge plan does not automatically include every modpack.
Prepare a self-hosted server
- A computer running Minecraft Java Edition-compatible software and a Java runtime suitable for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.
- The exact client and server pack version you intend to run. Do not mix the 0.5 server pack with another client release.
- Enough free disk space for the extracted files, generated chunks, logs, and at least one separate backup.
- Administrator access to create a server folder, run the startup file, edit
server.properties, and permit Java through the operating-system firewall. - Router access if players outside your home network will connect.
- A backup destination that is not the live world directory, such as another drive or an external storage location.
Install the Create: Perfect World 2 dedicated server
1. Confirm the game and loader versions
Write down the version shown on the modpack’s files page before downloading anything: Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge, and the chosen pack release. Every player must later reproduce these values. If one person installs a newer or older profile, Forge can reject the connection even when the server address is correct.

2. Download the dedicated server archive
Open the modpack’s CurseForge Files page and select the entry under Minecraft 1.20 Server Packs. For the 0.5 release, select SERVER Create- Perfect World 2-0.5.zip. Do not rename a client ZIP and do not use the regular client archive as a server.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3. Create a dedicated folder
Make a new folder used only for this world, such as a folder named for the pack and version. Extract the entire server ZIP into it, preserving the directories and files supplied by the pack. Keeping the server isolated makes backups, upgrades, and troubleshooting much safer than mixing it with another Forge installation.
4. Run the supplied start file once
Use the start file included in the extracted server pack. Follow the prompts it generates rather than replacing the script with a generic Forge command. The first launch normally creates runtime files and then stops or asks for an EULA decision. Keep the terminal or console open so you can read the exact error if the process exits.
5. Accept the Minecraft EULA
When the startup process asks for the EULA, open the generated eula.txt, change the EULA setting to accept it only after reading Mojang’s terms, save the file, and run the supplied start file again. If the file is not generated, read the console output; a missing or unreadable Java runtime can prevent the first launch from completing.
6. Let the world generate, then stop cleanly
Allow the server to reach its ready state once before inviting anyone. Stop it from the server console instead of closing the window abruptly. A clean stop writes pending chunks and configuration changes and gives you a known-good baseline for editing settings.

7. Adjust server properties
Open server.properties in a plain-text editor. Set the options your group needs, such as the difficulty and whitelist behavior, then save the file while the server is stopped. Start the server again and check that the console accepts the settings. The exact files generated can differ according to the pack’s startup structure, so do not delete unfamiliar folders or replace the included configuration wholesale.
A whitelist is useful for a private group: enable it, start the server, and add each player through the server console using the normal Minecraft whitelist command. Keep operator privileges limited to people who need administrative access.
8. Install the matching client profile for every player
Each participant installs the Create: Perfect World 2 client profile for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge and selects the same release used by the server. Do not copy the client’s entire mods folder into the server. CurseForge warns that client-only mods can stop a dedicated server from loading. Use the server ZIP as the authority for server contents and compare files when a mismatch appears.
9. Test from the host computer
Join using the server computer’s local address first. This test separates Minecraft and Forge problems from router problems. If the host cannot join, read the server console for a missing dependency, wrong loader, Java failure, or invalid configuration before attempting any port forwarding.

Players on the same home network can usually connect with the server computer’s private address. Friends on the Internet need a public route to that computer. The usual method is to forward Minecraft’s standard port, 25565, from the router to the server computer and allow Java through the host firewall.

- Fight your way through an all-new action-adventure game, inspired by classic dungeon crawlers and set in the Minecraft universe!
- Play with up to four friends or brave the dungeons alone. Battle new-and-nasty mobs across action-packed, wildly varied levels, in a quest to defeat the evil Arch-Illager!
- Give the server computer a stable private address on your home network, using your router’s address-reservation feature if available.
- Create a router port-forward rule for TCP 25565 to that private address. If your router asks for an external and internal port, use 25565 for both unless you have deliberately changed the server port.
- Allow the Java runtime or the supplied server process through the operating system’s firewall on the network profile you use.
- Start the server and test from a connection that is not on your home Wi-Fi, such as a friend’s network or a mobile hotspot. Testing from inside the same network can give a misleading result because some routers do not support loopback connections.
CurseForge describes port forwarding as the recommended, though complicated, way to make a local dedicated server accessible worldwide. If local players can join but outside players cannot, inspect the firewall and forwarding rule first. An Internet provider using CGNAT may place multiple households behind one public address, preventing inbound forwarding; in that case, ask the provider for a public IPv4 address or use a managed host instead. Do not publish your home public address in an open forum.
Invite friends and keep the world safe
Give friends the public address and port only after the external test succeeds. If you changed the server port, include it in the address format shown by Minecraft; otherwise the default is 25565. Have every player launch the matching Forge profile before connecting, and use the whitelist for a private server.
Stop the server before copying its world folder. Keep at least one backup from before any mod or pack update and another recent backup on separate storage. A backup is useful only if you know where it is and can restore it: periodically copy it to a temporary location and verify that the world files open as expected. Never overwrite your only backup with a newer copy.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Use CurseForge Servers for a managed deployment
When a matching server pack is supported, CurseForge’s hosted-server workflow avoids manual uploads and home-router port forwarding. The service is powered by Shockbyte and billed through Tebex; its support page stated that approximately 9,000 modpacks were supported when updated on September 8, 2026. Plan prices, regions, and pack availability can change, so treat the control panel’s current listing as authoritative.
- Open the Minecraft section of the CurseForge app and select Servers.
- Click Host A Server.
- Select Create: Perfect World 2 and choose the matching server-pack filename, such as
SERVER Create- Perfect World 2-0.5.zip. - Choose an available plan and region, then enter the server name and other requested details.
- Complete the purchase and wait for the server card to finish provisioning.
- Use the address and management controls shown on the server card. The owner can share a direct link or import code so friends install the matching profile.
If the pack does not appear, do not substitute an arbitrary Create pack. Check the exact server-pack filename and the provider’s supported-version list. An unavailable listing may mean that the provider has not indexed this release yet; it is not evidence that the client ZIP can run as a server.

Consider Modrinth Hosting as an alternative
Modrinth Hosting advertises Forge support, SFTP access, region selection, and three published Java tiers: $10 per month for 1–5 friends, $15 per month for 6–15 players, and $20 per month for 15–25 players. The prices are stated in USD and can change. The published information does not establish that Create: Perfect World 2 is currently available there, so verify the exact pack and server version before subscribing.

Troubleshoot the common failure modes
The server crashes during startup
- Confirm that the server folder came from
SERVER Create- Perfect World 2-0.5.zip, not the client ZIP. - Compare the server’s Minecraft and Forge versions with the pack listing.
- Remove client-only mods from the server
modsdirectory and restore the original server-pack contents. - Read the first error in the console or log rather than the final cascade of missing-class messages.
- Restore the last known-good backup if you changed mods or configuration immediately before the crash.
Players receive a mod-list or version mismatch
Check the profile selected in the launcher, the Minecraft version, Forge loader, and pack release on both sides. A player who manually added, removed, or updated one mod can fail the handshake even when the visible pack name is identical. Reinstall the matching client profile instead of copying random files from another installation.
Local players can connect, but remote friends cannot
Verify that the server is running, Java is allowed through the firewall, and the router forwards TCP 25565 to the correct private address. Test from an external network. If all settings are correct and the public address still has no open route, investigate CGNAT with the Internet provider or move the world to managed hosting.
A managed host says the pack is unavailable
Search using the exact pack title and server-pack filename shown in CurseForge. If the provider supports manual files, upload the matching server ZIP through its file manager or SFTP and select Forge 1.20.1. Contact support before changing versions; silently substituting a different release can invalidate an existing world.

The world disappeared after an update
Stop the server, restore the pre-update world backup, and return to the previous pack version. Test updates on a copied world first. Never update the live installation while players are connected or without a separate rollback copy.
Quick Recap
Update without breaking a working world
- Record the current pack, Minecraft, and Forge versions.
- Stop the server cleanly and make two backups: the world and the complete server directory, excluding temporary logs if storage is limited.
- Read the new release notes and obtain its matching server-pack ZIP.
- Extract the new pack into a separate test directory instead of overwriting the live folder.
- Copy only the world and deliberately reviewed configuration changes into the test installation.
- Start the test server, join with a client on the same new profile, and inspect quests, machines, inventories, and chunk loading.
- Schedule the live migration only after the test works, and keep the old directory until every player has connected successfully.
Final decision checklist
- Choose self-hosting when you can keep a computer online, configure port 25565, and maintain your own backups.
- Choose managed hosting when persistent availability, a control panel, and reduced networking work justify a monthly bill.
- Whichever route you choose, use Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge, the exact matching server pack, and identical client profiles.
- Keep a restorable backup before every modpack or loader change.
