Steam lists Crime Scene Cleaner as released on 14 August 2024. The store identifies President Studio as developer and President Studio and PlayWay S.A. as publishers. The PC edition is the conventional downloadable Steam build: install it on a compatible Windows computer, select your input device and graphics settings, and play locally.

Microsoft’s Xbox listing gives 17 April 2025 as the release date for the Xbox/Play Anywhere listing. It identifies support for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, and marks the game as “Optimized for XBOX Series X|S.” That later listing date does not mean the game first appeared on PC in 2025; the Steam release predates it by several months.

Play Anywhere and cloud saves
The Xbox listing includes Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox cloud saves. For an account using the supported Xbox ecosystem, those features are the practical reason to prefer the Xbox edition when you alternate between a console and a compatible Windows Xbox installation. On PC, the Steam version can be used with a mouse and keyboard or with a controller, depending on the device and configuration you choose. Mouse aiming can appeal to players who prefer separate, precise camera movement, while a controller can provide the familiar layout and analog movement used on console. Those are input options, not measured claims that one device is objectively faster.

The page also says integrated graphics are unsupported and that Intel ARC may not yet be supported. A computer with an integrated GPU therefore falls outside the stated support boundary even if its processor and memory appear adequate. An ARC owner should check current compatibility before purchasing rather than assume the listed NVIDIA cards are interchangeable with every GPU.

Microsoft’s label confirms that the Xbox build is identified as optimized for the Series X|S family. It does not, by itself, disclose whether Series X and Series S use the same resolution, whether a performance or quality mode exists, the target frame rate, VRR behavior, or loading-time targets. Those details are not stated in the cited Xbox listing.
Why a universal winner cannot be declared
A PC can exceed the recommended graphics card, run at a chosen resolution, use a high-refresh monitor, or be limited by an older CPU. An Xbox Series X|S uses a fixed console configuration, but the store page does not publish the output mode needed for a numerical comparison. Without matching tests that hold resolution, quality settings, scene and frame-time measurement constant, “Xbox runs at X FPS” or “PC is sharper” would be an unsupported claim.
Practical performance checks on PC

- Compare the processor, memory and GPU with the minimum and recommended table rather than using the processor name alone.
- Install current graphics drivers and close applications that compete for memory or GPU time.
- Start with a conservative resolution and quality preset, then adjust one setting at a time. Record frame-rate or frame-time behavior in the scenes where you notice slowdown.
These steps help diagnose a particular PC; they do not turn the published requirements into a guaranteed benchmark.
Achievements and progression
Both platforms have their own achievement systems
The Xbox listing exposes Xbox achievements, while the Steam listing exposes Steam Achievements. A completion earned on one service should therefore be tracked in that service’s profile. The existence of both systems does not establish that every achievement has identical wording, conditions, hidden status, or timing.

An exact, current cross-platform achievement comparison is not established by the available official pages. A March 2026 TrueAchievements news result reports a story update adding new Xbox achievements for Xbox Series X|S and PC/Game Pass players. Because updates can add or alter achievement content, an older Xbox-to-Steam checklist can become incomplete. If a specific achievement matters to you, inspect the current Xbox and Steam lists after installing the same game update and compare the requirements individually.
Third-party completion estimates
TrueAchievements search results estimate roughly 15–20 hours for the base achievement set and show an updated Xbox listing with 68 achievements worth 1,360 Gamerscore. Those are third-party database figures, not an Xbox or Steam guarantee. Recheck the listing before planning a completion run, especially after the reported March 2026 update. What transfers and what does not
Xbox cloud saves and Play Anywhere are listed Xbox features, so they are the relevant conveniences when moving between supported Xbox devices.
