To solve the Secret of the Ancient Ruins puzzle in Crimson Desert, open the ruin with Nature’s Grasp, then use Force Palm on the three wall discs. Start with the middle disc, followed by the right and left discs. Walkthroughs disagree about whether the final two hits should be right-then-left or left-then-right, so use the visible result as your confirmation: all three discs must be recessed and the energy line must run through the complete circuit.
This puzzle appears during the Reunion main quest in Chapter 2. The route, ability prompts and reward sequence are straightforward once you know what the game is asking you to activate, but the conflicting published hit orders can make an otherwise simple room seem broken.

Quick solution to the Ancient Ruins puzzle
- During Reunion in Chapter 2, follow the black cat from Lioncrest Watchtower to the hilltop ruins.
- Use Nature’s Grasp on the stone slab covering the entrance. Move close enough for the ability prompt if the target is not immediately selectable.
- Enter the cave and locate the three circular discs set into the wall.
- Use Force Palm on the discs in this order: middle, right, left.
- Check the circuit rather than relying only on the order. The puzzle is complete when every disc is pushed into the wall and the energy line connects across all three positions.
- Leave the cave, activate the nearby Abyss Cresset, then speak with the child to advance or finish Reunion.
If middle-right-left does not produce the connected line in your game, try middle-left-right. PowerPyx, PC Gamer and a Game8 search result publish that alternate order, while GamesRadar+ and Beebom publish middle-right-left. No official publisher solution was identified, and the connected circuit is the dependable in-game test.

Follow the black cat from Lioncrest Watchtower
The Ancient Ruins objective is part of the Reunion quest, which guides you through Chapter 2. From Lioncrest Watchtower, follow the black cat toward the hilltop. The cat is the practical navigation cue used by the quest coverage: stay with it until you reach the stone structure rather than searching for the cave as a separate map activity.

At the ruins, the entrance is blocked by a broad stone slab. You cannot simply interact with the doorway or attack the rock. The required action is the newly taught Nature’s Grasp ability. Approach the slab until the ability prompt appears, then cast Nature’s Grasp to raise it.
What to do if Nature’s Grasp will not target the slab
- Stand directly in front of the entrance instead of aiming from the side.
- Walk closer until the contextual ability prompt appears; several walkthroughs note that distance can prevent the target from registering.
- Confirm that you are still following the Reunion objective and have reached the hilltop ruin, not another stone formation in the surrounding area.
- Once the slab rises, walk through the opening to load the cave section. There is no separate key, switch or inventory item required for this entrance.
Inside the cave: identify the three discs
The puzzle room contains three circular discs mounted in the wall. They are arranged vertically or along a short horizontal section of the ruin wall depending on the camera angle, but the solution references them by position: middle, right and left. The game introduces Focus in this area, and the guides describe Force Palm as the ability that operates the discs.
Use Focus if you need to inspect the interactable objects or make their outlines easier to distinguish. Then move your aim over a disc and trigger Force Palm when its prompt appears. You do not need to damage the wall, rotate a separate dial or find a hidden lever. Each successful strike changes the state of a disc and can also affect adjacent discs.

Published walkthroughs do not agree on the second and third hits. GamesRadar+ and Beebom instruct players to use middle-right-left. PowerPyx and PC Gamer give middle-left-right, and a Game8 search result reports the same alternate sequence. All of these accounts agree on the important parts: start with the middle disc, operate the discs with Force Palm, and finish with all three discs pressed inward so the energy path is complete.
| Guide or guide group | Reported order | Other detail reported |
|---|---|---|
| GamesRadar+ | Middle → right → left | Explains that striking a disc changes the state of adjacent discs; completion is shown by a connected circuit. |
| Beebom | Middle → right → left | Connects the puzzle with the Abyss Cresset and continuation of the quest. |
| PowerPyx | Middle → left → right | Describes Nature’s Grasp at the entrance and the Cresset reward sequence. |
| PC Gamer | Middle → left → right | Places the objective in Chapter 2’s Reunion quest and includes the post-puzzle Cresset step. |
| Game8 search result | Middle → left → right | Search listing updated March 24, 2026; the page itself was not accessible for verification. |
Because the game gives you a visual state rather than a written combination, treat either sequence as a proposed input, not an unchangeable code. The practical rule is to stop once the line is connected. If a sequence leaves one disc protruding or breaks the energy path, use the other published order or continue manipulating the affected discs until the required state appears.

Step-by-step: solve the discs with the visual circuit
1. Strike the middle disc first
Stand where all three discs are visible and use Force Palm on the center position. Starting in the middle is the only element shared by the competing walkthrough instructions. After the impact, watch the neighboring discs and the energy line rather than immediately turning away; an adjacent position may change state as part of the same action.
2. Try the right disc second
Use Force Palm on the right-hand disc. This is the second hit in the middle-right-left sequence reported by GamesRadar+ and Beebom. The goal is not merely to make the disc flash. Look for the disc face to sit farther into the wall and for the line to extend through the circuit.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →3. Hit the left disc third
Finish by targeting the left-hand disc. If all three positions are now recessed and the energy path joins without a gap, the room has accepted the solution. The connected line is more reliable than counting animations, because a disc can visibly react while still leaving the circuit incomplete.
4. Use the alternate order if the circuit does not connect
If the first attempt leaves the line broken, do not assume the quest is bugged. Reset your approach by trying middle-left-right, the order listed by PowerPyx, PC Gamer and the Game8 search result. The adjacent-disc behavior means that a hit can change more than the disc you targeted, so compare the final physical state after the third strike instead of judging a sequence from one animation.
How to know the puzzle is finished
The completion condition is visual and mechanical: all three discs are pushed into the wall and the energy line runs through the entire circuit. A partial glow, a single depressed disc or a line that stops between two positions is not enough. Remain in the room and adjust the discs until the path is visibly continuous.

Take on the role of the Greymane Kliff and embark on a journey across the continent to reclaim everything youve lost. Explore uncharted lands, encounter mysterious factions, and experience firsthand a world that is as breathtaking as it is merciless.
- Correct state: each of the three circular plates is recessed and the energy route is connected.
- Incomplete state: one plate remains raised, the line has a visible break, or the energy appears to terminate at a disc.
- Targeting problem: Force Palm’s prompt does not appear when you aim at a plate; move closer, reposition the camera and use Focus to distinguish the interactable object.
The guides describe the connected circuit as the success indicator, so it is safer to trust that state than a memorized order. The two orders may reflect different explanations of the disc-state changes or differences in how a particular guide recorded the room.
What to do after the circuit connects
Leave the cave and find the Abyss Cresset
Once the energy path is complete, exit the cave. The next nearby objective is the Abyss Cresset. It is easy to overlook because solving the discs feels like the end of the activity, but the walkthroughs consistently direct you outside to this object.
Activate the Cresset
Interact with the Abyss Cresset when you reach it. Guide coverage describes it as providing an Abyss Artifact and functioning as a fast-travel point. The exact interaction prompt can vary with the control setup, so use the contextual prompt shown by your game rather than a platform-specific button assumed from another guide.
Speak with the child
After activating the Cresset, return to the child and speak with them. This conversation advances or completes the relevant Reunion objective. If the quest marker does not update, make sure you activated the Cresset rather than merely walking past it; the reward and fast-travel interaction are tied to that nearby follow-up.

The entrance remains sealed
Nature’s Grasp is the required ability for the slab. Check that the ability has been taught in the Reunion sequence, then approach the slab until the prompt appears. If you are targeting from too far away or from an oblique angle, move directly in front of the stone and try again.

Force Palm does nothing
Inside the cave, target one of the three circular wall discs rather than the surrounding masonry. Use Focus to reveal the interactable area, step closer and wait for the Force Palm prompt. The puzzle does not ask you to use Nature’s Grasp on the discs; that ability is for opening the entrance.
The first order fails
Use the other documented sequence. Begin with the middle disc, then test left-right if right-left did not connect the line. Because adjacent discs can change when one is struck, inspect the final configuration after every attempt. You are looking for three recessed discs and one uninterrupted energy path, not a particular sound or a fixed number of flashes.
The quest will not advance after solving it
Exit the cave, locate the nearby Abyss Cresset and activate it before returning to the child. The Cresset is both a reward interaction and a fast-travel point in the published walkthroughs, so walking straight back without activating it can leave the next step apparently unavailable.
Quest context and version caveats
PowerPyx and PC Gamer identify this Ancient Ruins objective as part of the Chapter 2 Reunion main quest. The walkthroughs used for the solution were published or updated in March 2026, with GamesRadar+’s guide accessed October 13, 2026. They are guide-site accounts rather than an official developer solution, and no independent gameplay test established a universal button layout for every platform.

That matters because the reliable instructions are ability names and visible states, not controller labels. Nature’s Grasp opens the slab, Force Palm changes the discs, and the connected line confirms completion. If a future patch changes the animation or interaction prompt, those three functional checkpoints should still tell you which stage of the objective you are on, but exact behavior should be checked against the current game version.
