To craft ordinary arrows in Crimson Desert, use a Smithy’s Crafting menu and select Arrow. The listed recipe consumes Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 and returns 30 arrows per batch. A practical example is Turnali’s Smithy near the center of Hernand Town: locate the Smithy, speak with Turnali, choose Crafting, and select Arrow. If either material is displayed in red, the crafting screen is indicating that you do not have enough of it for that batch.
This guide also explains the separate unlock for Poison Arrows and the guide-reported way regular arrows can be ignited near an open flame. Damage values, vendor stock, and the effectiveness of different arrow types are not established by the available sources, so the instructions below stay focused on the actions and quantities that are documented.

The standard arrow recipe at a glance
The two item databases consulted for the recipe agree on the station, inputs, and output. The Crimson Desert Gaming Tools entry is labeled “Crimson Desert Version 2.0.0” and shows a September 30, 2026 update; that label identifies the database record and is not confirmation of an official developer version announcement. You can view the record at Crimson Desert Gaming Tools’ Arrow recipe page and cross-check the item entry at Crimson Desert DB.
| Recipe item | Where to make it | Materials for one batch | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arrow | Smithy > Crafting | Timber ×5 Iron Ore ×1 |
Arrow ×30 |
The quantities are per listed batch, not per individual arrow. You do not spend one piece of Timber and one piece of Iron Ore for every arrow; the menu’s single craft consumes five Timber and one Iron Ore and produces thirty arrows.

What you need before opening the menu
A Smithy
Arrow production is tied to a Smithy rather than a general inventory action. The step-by-step example in Asmir Kovacevic’s AltChar guide uses Turnali at the Smithy near the center of Hernand Town. The guide recommends switching the map to the Environment layer so the Smithy icon is easier to find. That location and map-filter instruction are guide-reported directions, so the exact route can vary with your current position and map state. The walkthrough is available at AltChar’s “Crimson Desert: How to craft arrows”.
Timber and Iron Ore
Put at least Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 in your available materials before selecting the recipe. The recipe sources do not establish a single required gathering route, a fixed spawn area, or a particular tool for either material, so avoid assuming that a named location or method is mandatory. If you are planning several crafts, multiply both inputs by the number of batches:
| Batches selected | Timber required | Iron Ore required | Arrows produced |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 1 | 30 |
| 2 | 10 | 2 | 60 |
| 3 | 15 | 3 | 90 |
| 4 | 20 | 4 | 120 |
Those larger totals are simple multiplication of the listed one-batch recipe. They are planning figures, not a separate bulk recipe.
How to craft arrows step by step
- Open the map and find a Smithy. If you are following the Hernand example, switch the map to the Environment layer and look near the center of Hernand Town for the Smithy used by the walkthrough.
- Go to the Smithy and speak with Turnali. Turnali is the named Smithy contact in that example. If you are using another Smithy, the available interaction may be presented by a different character; the essential requirement is access to a Smithy’s production menu.
- Choose Crafting. This opens the production interface described in the walkthrough. Do not stop at a dialogue or service option that does not show recipes; the arrow recipe is in the crafting list.
- Open the ammunition list and select Arrow. The standard Arrow entry is the recipe that uses Timber and Iron Ore. Check the displayed ingredient counts before confirming.
- Confirm that the material counts are available. You need Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 for the listed batch. A red material indicator means the walkthrough says you are short of that ingredient.
- Craft the batch. A successful craft is listed as Arrow ×30. Repeat the action only after checking whether your remaining Timber and Iron Ore cover another complete batch.
The walkthrough’s exact interaction sequence is a guide account rather than an official control reference. Menu wording can be affected by localization, platform controls, or later patches, but the documented path is consistently a Smithy followed by Crafting and the Arrow recipe.
Reading the crafting screen correctly
Why the output says 30
The output number is the most useful detail for ammunition planning: one confirmation creates thirty arrows. If you need ninety arrows, three complete batches require fifteen Timber and three Iron Ore. If you have enough material for only two batches, the recipe does not imply that a partial third batch will produce an intermediate number; the documented recipe is expressed as complete batches of thirty.

What red materials mean
When an ingredient is red in the crafting screen, the AltChar walkthrough interprets that color as insufficient stock for the selected recipe. Check both requirements separately. Having enough Timber does not compensate for missing Iron Ore, and vice versa. Return to the material requirement display after obtaining the missing item rather than relying on the previous red state.
Do not confuse the recipe with a per-arrow cost
Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 describe the whole Arrow entry’s output of thirty. Treating those figures as the cost of each individual arrow would overstate your requirements by a factor of thirty. For ordinary restocking, think in batches: each additional thirty arrows consumes another five Timber and one Iron Ore according to the listed recipe.

Troubleshooting when Arrow is unavailable
The Arrow entry is visible but cannot be confirmed
- Recheck the two displayed requirements: Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 are both needed for one batch.
- Use the red-material cue described by the walkthrough to identify which ingredient is short.
- After adding materials, close and reopen the Smithy’s Crafting view if the old counts remain visible; this is a practical interface refresh step, not a separate recipe requirement.
You cannot find a Smithy
- Use the map’s Environment layer, the filter recommended in the Hernand walkthrough.
- If you are in Hernand, search around the town center for the Smithy example associated with Turnali.
- Make sure you are interacting with the Smithy service and selecting Crafting, rather than looking for an ammunition option in an unrelated menu.
You see other ammunition but not ordinary Arrow
The documented standard recipe is attached to the Smithy’s Crafting menu. Return to the Smithy interaction and inspect the ammunition category. Poison Arrows are handled differently because their recipe has an unlock condition; that condition does not describe the ordinary Arrow entry.
You are trying to buy standard arrows
The available material does not establish a regular-arrow vendor, a fixed purchase price, or a universal shop inventory. It does document a purchase for the Poison Arrow recipe, not a confirmed source of ordinary Arrow ammunition. When you need a supported method based on the documented information, use the Smithy recipe rather than assuming a shop sells standard arrows.
Poison Arrows: unlock the recipe first
Poison Arrows are not presented as immediately available in the same way as the standard Arrow entry. The AltChar guide reports that you must buy the Poison Arrow recipe at the Back Alley Shop southeast of Hernand for 10 silver. After obtaining that recipe, it should appear in Turnali’s crafting menu. Because this location, price, and unlock sequence come from one secondary guide and were not independently verified, treat them as guide-reported directions rather than a guaranteed value for every version or region.

- Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Take on the role of the Greymane Kliff and embark on a journey across the continent to reclaim everything youve lost. Explore uncharted lands, encounter mysterious factions, and experience firsthand a world that is as breathtaking as it is merciless.
- Travel to the Back Alley Shop southeast of Hernand, following the guide’s location description.
- Look for the Poison Arrow recipe and check that the displayed price is 10 silver before purchasing.
- Buy the recipe if the entry is present and you have the required silver.
- Return to Turnali’s Smithy, choose Crafting, and inspect the ammunition list for Poison Arrow.
- Read the Poison Arrow entry’s own ingredient display before crafting. The available guide does not provide a verified material list or output quantity for Poison Arrows, so do not substitute the ordinary Arrow recipe’s Timber, Iron Ore, or thirty-arrow output.
| Feature | Standard Arrow | Poison Arrow |
|---|---|---|
| Where the recipe is accessed | Smithy > Crafting | Smithy > Crafting after the recipe unlock, according to the guide |
| Unlock purchase | None is documented | Back Alley Shop southeast of Hernand; guide reports 10 silver |
| Materials and output | Timber ×5 + Iron Ore ×1 for 30 arrows | Not established by the available guide |
| Effectiveness or damage comparison | Not established; no ranking is supported | |
The table separates what is known about access from what is not known about Poison Arrow performance. There is no substantiated basis here for declaring one arrow type stronger or better for a particular enemy.
Fire behavior is different from a separate crafting recipe
The same AltChar walkthrough says regular arrows ignite when held near an open flame, such as a torch or brazier, without extra materials or coin. That is described as an environmental interaction, not as a Smithy recipe with a separate ingredient list. The guide’s wording has not been confirmed by an official developer source or a first-hand test, so regard it as a reported behavior that may depend on the situation.
In practical terms, do not search the Smithy menu for a documented “Fire Arrow” recipe based solely on that report. First craft ordinary arrows through the standard Timber-and-Iron-Ore recipe; then, if the flame interaction is available in your game state, try the arrow near an open flame. The available information does not establish how long the effect lasts, whether every flame works, how much damage it adds, or whether it changes the arrow’s inventory name.
How to plan ammunition without wasting materials
Use complete-batch math
Because the listed output is thirty arrows, decide how many complete batches you want before opening the confirmation prompt. For example, a two-batch restock is 60 arrows for 10 Timber and 2 Iron Ore. A four-batch restock is 120 arrows for 20 Timber and 4 Iron Ore. If your inventory sits between those thresholds, you can craft the largest complete number of batches your materials support and keep the remainder for later.
Check both inputs before traveling
A trip to a Smithy is useful only when both ingredients are ready. Count Timber and Iron Ore separately before leaving. The red indicator can identify the short ingredient once you are at the station, but checking first avoids arriving with enough of one material and none of the other.

Keep variant recipes separate
Do not reserve the ordinary recipe’s quantities for Poison Arrows. The Poison Arrow material list and yield are not supplied, and the Smithy will display its own requirements after the recipe is unlocked. Likewise, the reported flame interaction concerns ordinary arrows and should not be treated as proof of a craftable fire-arrow item.
What is confirmed, and what remains conditional
The standard station and recipe are the strongest part of the available information: two item databases list the same Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 input with Arrow ×30 output, and the walkthrough describes the Smithy Crafting path. The database page labeled Version 2.0.0 and dated September 30, 2026 should be read as that site’s record metadata, not as an official statement from the game’s developer.
The Hernand Turnali route, the Environment map layer, the Poison Arrow purchase for 10 silver, and the open-flame ignition behavior come from the AltChar walkthrough. Those details are useful for navigation, but they are not backed here by an official manual, developer post, in-game capture, or independent test. If your menu differs, rely on the requirements and recipe displayed by your current game client rather than forcing an unverified location, price, or effect.
A separate Side Quest tutorial is titled “How to CRAFT ARROWS in Crimson Desert (Step by Step)” and reflects the same player question, but it does not add a different verified recipe. You can find it at the Side Quest tutorial.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsQuick checklist
- Find a Smithy; in the Hernand example, use the Environment map layer and look near town center.
- Speak with Turnali and choose Crafting.
- Select the standard Arrow entry in the ammunition list.
- Have Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 available for each batch.
- Confirm the output of Arrow ×30.
- If an ingredient is red, obtain more of that material before confirming.
- For Poison Arrows, investigate the reported Back Alley Shop recipe purchase first; its 10-silver price and location are guide-reported.
- Treat open-flame ignition as a reported interaction with ordinary arrows, not as a confirmed separate recipe.
The Bottom Line
Use a Smithy’s Crafting menu to make standard arrows: Timber ×5 and Iron Ore ×1 produce 30 arrows per batch. The Hernand example uses Turnali, while Poison Arrows require a separately purchased recipe according to one guide.
