What has the community co-op mod achieved?
A developer posting about an unofficial mod reports building a host-and-join networking layer and relaying packets between two live game instances. In a later update in the same thread, the developer reports repeatable spawning of a native humanoid character. These are the project author’s own development claims, not independently verified results or confirmation of a finished release. The developer’s Reddit progress thread is the source for the reported milestones and status.
Connecting two game instances and spawning a character are technical steps, not a complete co-op experience. The developer says the spawned body is not yet assigned to a remote player or session, and states: “So this is not playable co-op yet.”

- Second-player input, so another person can control their character.
- Camera and animation behavior for a second player.
- Combat that works as part of a shared session.
- Persistence across streaming boundaries, so the second player’s state is not lost as the game world loads and changes.
- Cleanup of spawned characters and broader stability testing with two game instances.

Does offline play mean multiplayer is supported?
No. Pearl Abyss’s support FAQ, updated June 23, 2026, says an internet connection is needed for initial setup and downloading updates, then states: “Once installation is complete, the game can be enjoyed in its entirety offline.” That describes offline access to the installed game; it is not evidence of online multiplayer.
