To start a dispatch mission in Crimson Desert, inspect the relevant camp or stronghold on the map, open its mission list, and select an available job. Before confirming, check the mission’s required comrades and skills, costs, duration, and listed reward. Requirements vary by mission, so use the live mission panel for your installed game version.
How to start a dispatch mission
- Open the map and inspect the camp or stronghold connected to your objective.
- Open that location’s mission list and choose the specific job you want. For the early Howling Hill expansion, PC Gamer’s March 25, 2026 walkthrough describes selecting Howling Hill, choosing Inspect, opening Missions, and selecting “Howling Hill Camp Expansion.”
- Check that the entry is available. If it is locked or unavailable, review its tracked objective or prerequisite.
- Read the requirements, costs, task time, and reward shown for that mission, then choose Dispatch or Repeat Mission if the panel offers those options.
- Confirm the assignment and reopen the entry to make sure it has started.
What to check before sending comrades
Use the selected mission’s panel rather than assuming every job works the same way. Construction, gathering, and stronghold work can have different requirements and outcomes.

- Eligible comrades and skills: Check which members qualify and what skills the job needs. The current dispatch guide reports that update 1.09.00 moved comrades with required skills forward in the selection interface, but confirm the actual mission entry.
- Supplies and currencies: Note each cost under its displayed name. Materials, Camp Funds, and Contribution are different resources; do not treat them as interchangeable.
- Duration and mode: Read the listed task time and whether the entry offers a one-run Dispatch, Repeat Mission, or both.
- Reward: Check what the panel says the mission will provide and whether the result advances the goal you care about.
The Howling Hill expansion is one specific example, not a universal price: PC Gamer’s walkthrough lists 100 camp food and 250 camp funds for that mission. Other entries may require different resources.
How to choose which mission to run
There is no universally best dispatch mission or best comrade for every stage of the game. Compare the available jobs against your current goal using the details shown in their entries.

How to tell whether a mission finished
Elapsed time alone does not confirm that a mission completed or that you received its reward. Reopen the mission entry and check its status and result. Then verify the relevant item or balance and whether the assigned comrades are available again.
Why dispatch missions can cancel
Pearl Abyss’s version 1.05.00 patch notes say dispatch missions were improved to cancel automatically if they can no longer be sustained. This describes the update; it is not a general refund guarantee for every cancellation or game version.
The version 1.05.01 hotfix notes separately document a historical issue in which ongoing missions could be canceled without restoring resources and Contribution, and say the affected Contribution would be restored in the next patch. That fix record should not be read as a promise that ordinary cancellations always return their costs.

If a mission stops unexpectedly or a cost appears missing, note its name and location, status, assigned comrades, displayed costs, platform, and game build. Compare your balances and contact Pearl Abyss Support if the discrepancy remains.

The current dispatch guide attributes several interface and category changes to official patch records: update 1.10.00 replaced earlier region categories, update 1.09.00 moved comrades with required skills forward in selection, and update 1.04.00 separated the one-run Dispatch and Repeat Mission controls. Labels and mission availability can change, so the panel in your installed build is the practical reference for a specific assignment.
