Yes, but only in specific ways. In Crimson Desert Update 2.00.00, you can reset an individual character’s skill progression and get that character’s spent Abyss Links back. After completing all main quests, you can also start a new game with Abyss Links and other in-game currency carried over. Neither feature is a general undo button for quests, items, or changes to the world.
Can you respec skills in Crimson Desert?
Yes. Pearl Abyss’s Update 2.00.00 patch notes, dated August 25, 2026, added individual skill-progression resets for each playable character. Resetting returns the Abyss Links spent by that character, rather than resetting every character together.

The same update also performed a one-time migration: on the first launch after installing it, existing skill progression was reset and previously spent skill resources, including Abyss Artifacts, were refunded. That was part of the update, not evidence that ordinary skill resets refund every kind of resource.
What carries over when you start a new game?
After you complete all main quests, Update 2.00.00 makes a new-game carryover feature available. The patch notes say it carries Abyss Links and other in-game currency from an existing save. Pearl Abyss describes the requirement directly: “This features is available after completing all main quests.”

The notes do not list what “other in-game currency” includes, or say that equipment, inventory, completed quests, discoveries, collectibles, or world state transfer. Treat the stated currency carryover as the confirmed scope—not as confirmation of a full New Game Plus transfer.

How can you protect or recover a save?
Pearl Abyss’s Save Data Notice, updated July 16, 2026, says the game supports automatic and manual saves. The publisher recommends saving frequently and keeping multiple save files. On PC and Mac, it documents the local save folder and recommends keeping a separate copy on another drive or USB device. If a save is overwritten or corrupted, that copied folder can be restored by copying it back.

Be careful when cloud saves conflict
Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and other platform cloud-save systems can present conflicts between local and cloud data. Pearl Abyss warns that an older cloud version may overwrite more recent local progress, and choosing the wrong file at a conflict prompt can cause data loss. Let synchronization finish, check the displayed timestamps, and make a separate backup before choosing which version to keep.

Cross-save, added in Update 1.14 on July 16, 2026, is for continuing a save on another linked platform—not reversing an in-game decision. Pearl Abyss’s Cross Save Guide describes an upload workflow: link the platform accounts, refresh the save menu, then upload through the Cross-Save slot. The uploaded save can then be continued on another linked platform.
