What is Crimson Desert?
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure set on Pywel, a continent Pearl Abyss describes as a realm of wilderness and varied environments. The publisher’s pitch centers on exploration, traversal and flexible combat, with players able to use different weapons, skills and equipment.

Pearl Abyss lists swords, axes, spears, ranged weapons and hand-to-hand fighting among the combat options, including kicks and grapples. Yes. Pearl Abyss announced a worldwide launch for March 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PDT. Its launch announcement listed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac, Epic Games Store and ROG Xbox Ally as platforms. What changed in the Enhanced edition?
The current official edition is called Enhanced. Pearl Abyss says it adds story scenes and enhanced story moments, expands voice-over and language support, and includes post-launch content and quality-of-life improvements. The publisher says current owners receive a free upgrade to Enhanced. Its official site lists Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s editions, but the available information here does not establish their current regional pricing or the precise contents of each package.
Language support
At launch, Pearl Abyss said the game had full voice acting in English, Korean and Chinese, with subtitles in 14 languages. The Enhanced edition adds voice-over in German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese, as well as Arabic support for subtitles and interface text. How many copies has Crimson Desert sold?
Pearl Abyss reported more than five million copies sold worldwide as of its April 15, 2026 announcement. The same announcement reported a Steam peak of 276,261 concurrent players since launch.
