Spoiler warning: The story dragon is a late-game reward. To unlock Darkstar, reach Chapter 11 and complete the main quest “Whispers in the Wind.” It is reported to unlock automatically, with no side content required. If you mean the separate Baby Wyvern, that follows a pet-growth route instead.
Unlock the story dragon, Darkstar
- Continue the main story until Chapter 11.
- Complete the main quest “Whispers in the Wind.” PowerPyx reports that Darkstar is granted automatically when you finish the quest; no optional quests or other side content are required. PowerPyx’s dragon-mount guide describes this unlock.
- Open the character wheel and choose the dragon as your mount. The guide’s control instruction is to hold D-pad Up, but button mappings can vary by platform or control settings. Follow the on-screen prompt shown in your game if it differs.
If you mean the Baby Wyvern
The Baby Wyvern is a distinct pet-to-mount progression, not the Chapter 11 story dragon. A guide for patch 1.10.00 describes this route:

- Hatch the Baby Wyvern egg.
- Feed the pet once per in-game day until it reaches Growth Level 3.
- Select Grow to turn it into an adult Wyvern, then summon it from Special Mounts.
The guide describes a Wyvern Saddle as optional equipment, not a requirement to grow or ride the mount. It does not establish the earliest chapter at which you can obtain the Baby Wyvern. PowerPyx’s Baby Wyvern guide documents the patch 1.10.00 route.
