To solve the Precipice of Truth puzzle in Crimson Desert, use Axiom Force to disable each laser turret and take its dropped core to a pedestal. The pedestal opens a compartment with a flat battery; carry that battery to the nearby socket and use Force Palm to seat it. Each installed battery powers fans that lift you to the next tier. At the top, activate the circular pressure pad with Force Palm and climb to the Abyss Artifact.
Reach Precipice of Truth
Enter from Root’s End in the Path of Providence. The approach runs across moving platforms to a portal or teleporter; a skilled player may also reach it with a gliding aerial Force Palm boost. Arriving activates the Abyss Nexus checkpoint. PowerPyx’s route guide covers the approach.
How the puzzle works
The same object sequence repeats as you climb: disable a turret with Axiom Force, take its dropped orb-like power core to a pedestal, retrieve the flat battery revealed inside, and install that battery in a socket. Use Force Palm to lock each battery in place. The resulting fan or updraft carries you onward. Guides use different names for these objects, including “energy rock” and “battery crystal”; identify them by what they do and where they fit.
Install the first battery and ride the fan
- Cross the first gap and approach the pillar-like laser turret. Wait for it to open and aim, then use Axiom Force on the orb at its center. The turret is destroyed and drops a power core. PC Gamer’s walkthrough likewise advises grabbing the orb when the turret opens to attack.
- Carry the core around the corner to the square pedestal beside the barrier. Place it there to open the compartment and expose a flat battery block.
- Move the battery to the socket near the platform edge, then use Force Palm to seat it. The first fan activates.
- Activate the nearby checkpoint, then glide through the fan’s airflow to the next platform.
Install the second battery
- On the next tier, trigger the second turret and use Axiom Force on its central orb when it opens. Take the dropped core up on the moving platform.
- Place the core at the next pedestal to expose another flat power block.
- Carry the block to the wall socket between the wheels and use Force Palm to lock it in place. The fan activates and launches you toward the far platforms.
Activate the third fan network and reach the artifact
- Follow the route upward to the third turret. Disable it with Axiom Force and carry its dropped core to the relevant pedestal.
- Take the newly revealed flat battery to the remaining wall socket and seat it with Force Palm. This activates the lower fan and the pair of large fans.
- Use the airflow to reach the circular wall pad. Activate the pad’s center with Force Palm.
- Climb to the ledge above and collect the Abyss Artifact.
Why the three-light gate may remain closed
Completing Precipice of Truth lights its own square, but it may not open the three-light gate above the altar. The gate tracks three connected Abyss paths: Root’s End, Precipice of Truth, and the Spire of Insight chain, which includes Chaos Forest and Roots of Truth. If the gate is still shut, check the Challenges menu for completion markers in the other connected areas. All Things How’s guide also reports that an area beyond the gate may remain story-locked after all three lights are complete; that is a guide’s report, not an official guarantee about progression.

If a core or power stone disappears
A secondary guide reports that a fall can make laser orbs and power stones despawn. It suggests reloading a manual save or, after reaching Chapter 4, recovering a lost stone through the Kuku Pot and camp warehouse NPC. These are reported workarounds, not confirmed fixes for every current game version. See the guide’s recovery suggestions.

- Force Palm: seat batteries in sockets and activate the final pressure pad.
A controller is optional; PC Gamer’s general Crimson Desert guide recommends gamepad play for PC players who find mouse-and-keyboard controls awkward. A controller is not required to solve this puzzle.
