This is a historical Google Play deal roundup, not a list of discounts available this week in 2026. Chrome Unboxed published its article under this title on June 18, 2020; its available excerpt says it covered games discounted or free that week for Android phones and Chromebooks, including some titles also accessible through Google Play Pass. The complete lineup, prices and offer end dates could not be verified, so there is no reliable basis for naming the games or claiming any are on sale now. Chrome Unboxed’s June 18, 2020 roundup
What the June 2020 roundup covered
The available excerpt for Chrome Unboxed’s June 18, 2020 article describes a weekly selection of Google Play games that were on sale or temporarily free. It says the games could be played on Android phones or Chromebooks and notes that a few of the titles made free for the week were also available through Google Play Pass. The excerpt does not establish the full selection, individual deal terms, or how long any offer lasted.
That limitation matters: the article title names This War of Mine and Peace, Death!, but the accessible evidence does not verify their 2020 prices or discounts. It also cannot establish that either game—or any other title from the roundup—is discounted today.
What to know about This War of Mine
Google Play describes This War of Mine as a survival game focused on civilians trapped in a besieged city. Players manage a shelter, craft and trade during the day, and scavenge at night. The Google Play listing identifies “Little Ones” as an in-app purchase and describes “Stories Ep 1: Father’s Promise” as a standalone experience. View the Google Play listing

How to check whether a Google Play game is on sale now
- Open the game’s Google Play listing while signed in to the account and country where you plan to buy. Check the live price and any displayed offer details.
- Confirm the offer conditions. Google says offers and prices can vary by location, eligibility and personalization settings, and that game discounts are redeemed directly on Google Play. Google Play Help: Use Offers on Google Play
- Check the end time and purchase type. Distinguish a temporary discount from a free offer or a Play Pass benefit, and note the expiry shown in your store. Do not assume a deal applies in another country or account.
- For Play Pass offers, look in the Play Store app. Google says those offers refresh weekly and can differ by region and account. A $0 trial or promotional subscription does not qualify for the offers. Google Play Help: Play Pass offers
Newer Google Play tools do not verify this old deal
In a March 11, 2026 post, Google described game wishlisting for sale alerts, trials for select paid games, and single purchases that include mobile and PC versions for select titles. These features can help shoppers monitor or try some games, but the post does not show that any title in the 2020 roundup is currently discounted.
