Crimson Desert’s Scorchflame Armor Set is collected from five exploration chests rather than one boss reward. Find the boots at Cascade Grotto, gloves at Twilight Grotto, cloak at Silent Falls Hideout, helmet in the Stonewell Farm tower, and plate armor beneath Golden Trading Post. The two waterfall routes use hidden entrances, the cloak requires Force Palm to open a concealed room, and the Grave Walker near that room is a disputed requirement: one guide calls the encounter optional, while another tells players to defeat it. Treat the boss as a possible hazard, not a confirmed gate.
Scorchflame set pieces and destinations
All five pieces are in or around Demeniss and the surrounding Hernandian territory. Because each item is placed in a separate exploration location, you can collect the set in any order that suits your map progress. The route below follows the clearest landmark sequence and identifies the movement ability or interaction associated with each chest.

| Boots | Cascade Grotto | Waterfall northwest of Reventine Monastery | Use the stone pile and Stab to enter the route behind the waterfall |
| Gloves | Twilight Grotto | Waterfall cave in western Demeniss, northwest of the “D” in the map label and south of Hills of No Return | Jump down, choose the northeastern waterfall marked by rocks, then use Stab across the water |
| Cloak | Silent Falls Hideout | Cave opening south of the Twilight Grotto entrance | Swim inside, turn left, climb the southeast wall, and use Force Palm on the indicated wall |
| Helmet | Stonewell Farm | Tall tower-like building on the farm’s western side | Climb to the top floor by the interior ladder or a neighboring-building jump |
| Plate armor | Golden Trading Post | Western end of the middle road, east of Stonewell Farm | Crouch and push the wooden door between two stair flights |
The Steam Community walkthrough by Pulᔕen describes the five-piece collection and was posted April 7, 2026, with an update on April 11. GAMERPILLAR published a second route guide on June 23, 2026. Their directions agree on the destinations, while differing on how the Grave Walker should be handled at Silent Falls Hideout.

Preparation before travelling
Have the movement abilities available
Stab is the important interaction for both waterfall routes. The Steam directions specifically call for it at Cascade Grotto and Twilight Grotto. Force Palm is needed later to rotate the concealed wall that hides the cloak chest. If an entrance does not respond, check that the relevant ability is unlocked and equipped rather than assuming the chest is missing.

Use landmarks instead of a straight-line map search
The locations are easier to identify from fixed landmarks than from a broad “Demeniss” search. Start with Reventine Monastery for the Cascade Grotto boots, use Hills of No Return and the map-label “D” to orient yourself toward Twilight Grotto, then use the Twilight entrance itself as the reference for Silent Falls Hideout. Stonewell Farm and Golden Trading Post are separate surface landmarks for the final two pieces.
Expect local enemies, but do not assume a boss lock
The collection route is primarily exploration. The Steam guide says the armor pieces do not require boss fights. It does, however, mention a Grave Walker near the cloak route and Bastier’s Inquisitors at Stonewell Farm depending on story progress. Those encounters can affect how safely you explore, but they are not the same as a confirmed item requirement.
Boots: Cascade Grotto
The boots are in a chest behind the waterfall at Cascade Grotto, northwest of Reventine Monastery in Demeniss. This is the first hidden-waterfall route and the most straightforward place to begin if you are approaching from the monastery.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Travel northwest from Reventine Monastery toward Cascade Grotto.
- Locate the waterfall and inspect the ground around it for the pile of stones described by the Steam guide.
- Use Stab at the indicated entrance. The action opens the way into the space behind the waterfall.
- Move through the concealed passage and open the chest to claim the Scorchflame boots.
GAMERPILLAR describes the same destination as a chest reached by passing through the waterfall. The two descriptions point to the same environmental clue: do not search the open approach for a normal, exposed chest. If you can see the falls but no chest, look for the stone pile and the interaction point that starts the Stab entry.
If the Cascade Grotto chest is not visible
- Stand close to the waterfall rather than searching the surrounding slope; the chest is behind the falls.
- Check the stone pile for the Stab prompt.
- If no prompt appears, verify that Stab is available before leaving the area.
Gloves: Twilight Grotto
The gloves are hidden in a second waterfall cave in western Demeniss. The Steam guide places it northwest of the “D” in the Demeniss map label and south of Hills of No Return. The cave has two waterfalls, so choosing the correct drop is the key to avoiding a dead end.

- Travel to western Demeniss, using the “D” in the map label and Hills of No Return as orientation points.
- Find the waterfall cave south of Hills of No Return.
- Inside the area, identify the two waterfalls and jump down as directed.
- Take the northeastern waterfall. The Steam guide identifies it by a stack of rocks.
- Use Stab to cross the water and continue to the hidden chest.
- Open the chest to collect the Scorchflame gloves.
GAMERPILLAR also describes the item as being in a concealed cave behind a waterfall, corroborating the hidden-entry approach. The northeastern waterfall and rock stack are the useful discriminators when several falls look similar. If you take the wrong drop, return to the two-waterfall area and use the rock stack to select the other route rather than trying to force a path through an inaccessible wall.
Cloak: Silent Falls Hideout
The cloak route begins at the Twilight Grotto entrance and leads to Silent Falls Hideout. The chest is not in the first visible chamber. You must swim through the southern cave opening, turn left, climb the southeast wall, and use Force Palm to reveal the hidden room.
- Return to or remain at the entrance used for Twilight Grotto.
- Look south for a separate cave opening.
- Swim inside the opening and turn left to enter Silent Falls Hideout.
- Reach the southeast side of the hideout and climb the wall.
- Find the indicated wall section in the upper area and use Force Palm.
- The wall rotates or shifts, exposing a concealed room.
- Enter the revealed room and open the chest containing the Scorchflame cloak.
How to handle the Grave Walker disagreement
The two route guides do not establish the same boss rule. Pulᔕen’s Steam guide says the Grave Walker encounter is not mandatory and that clearing it simply makes the room safer to explore. GAMERPILLAR’s directions tell players to defeat the Grave Walker before climbing. Since those instructions conflict, the safest accurate conclusion is that the boss may be present, but defeating it should not be described as a confirmed prerequisite for the cloak.
If the Grave Walker is active, you have two practical choices: fight it to make the climbing and Force Palm interaction less dangerous, or attempt the route while avoiding the encounter if the game allows you to reach the southeast wall. The item objective remains the same either way: reach the hidden room and open its chest. Do not abandon the route solely because another guide presents the defeat as mandatory.
Common cloak-route mistakes
- Searching only the first Silent Falls chamber. The chest is in the room exposed by Force Palm.
- Taking the wrong cave opening. From the Twilight entrance, the relevant opening is south.
- Climbing before checking for the Grave Walker. The encounter can make the area unsafe even if it is not an established lock.
- Using Force Palm at a random surface. The interaction belongs on the indicated wall section after climbing the southeast wall.
Helmet: Stonewell Farm tower
The helmet chest is on the top floor of the tall tower-like building on the western side of Stonewell Farm, northwest of the Demeniss map label. This is an above-ground climb rather than a cave puzzle.

- Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Take on the role of the Greymane Kliff and embark on a journey across the continent to reclaim everything youve lost. Explore uncharted lands, encounter mysterious factions, and experience firsthand a world that is as breathtaking as it is merciless.
- Travel to Stonewell Farm, northwest of the Demeniss label.
- Go to the tall tower-like building on the farm’s western side.
- Climb the interior ladder to the top floor.
- If the ladder route is inconvenient, use the neighboring building to jump to the small balcony described by the Steam guide.
- Open the top-floor chest to obtain the Scorchflame helmet.
Bastier’s Inquisitors may appear at the farm depending on your story progress. The Steam route says you do not need to defeat them to take the helmet. If enemies are present, approach the tower with an exit route in mind and interact with the chest when the area is clear enough to do so.
Plate armor: Golden Trading Post
The plate armor is beneath Golden Trading Post, east of Stonewell Farm. The entrance is disguised as a wooden door between two flights of stairs, so walking through the trading post without crouching and pushing the door can make the location look empty.
- Travel to Golden Trading Post east of Stonewell Farm.
- Take the middle road through the trading post and follow it to the western end.
- Look for the wooden door positioned between two flights of stairs.
- Crouch at the door and push it to enter the hidden compartment.
- Open the chest inside to collect the Scorchflame plate armor.
This route does not depend on the waterfall abilities used elsewhere. If the door appears decorative, reposition directly in front of it, crouch, and try the push interaction again. The critical clue is its position between the stairs at the western end of the middle road.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Recommended collection order
There is no stated requirement to collect the five pieces in a particular sequence. A practical order minimizes backtracking through the same western Demeniss landmarks:
- Start with the Cascade Grotto boots while travelling northwest from Reventine Monastery.
- Move to western Demeniss for the Twilight Grotto gloves.
- Use the Twilight entrance immediately to reach Silent Falls Hideout and search for the cloak.
- Travel to Stonewell Farm for the tower helmet.
- Finish at Golden Trading Post for the plate armor, using the hidden door beneath the middle road.
This order is a navigation suggestion, not a progression rule. If your current objective already places you near Stonewell Farm or Golden Trading Post, collect those pieces first. The important preparation is having Stab for the two waterfall paths and Force Palm for the cloak room.

What the available guides say about effects and statistics
Volcanic Eruption Abyss Gear
The Steam community guide associates the plate gloves with Volcanic Eruption Abyss Gear. It describes the effect as allowing embedded attacks to shatter a molten boulder and hit nearby enemies. The wording ties the ability to the gloves or their associated gear description; it should not be expanded into a broader claim about every Scorchflame piece without an in-game tooltip confirming that scope.
Fire mitigation and rallying bonus
A fan-made companion database, crimsondesert.app, lists the set as granting 25% fire mitigation and a rallying bonus when four pieces are equipped. That page was last updated in March 2026, but no official Pearl Abyss item guide was located to verify those exact values. Treat both figures as secondary database information, not authoritative statistics. If the game’s own equipment screen shows different wording or numbers, use the in-game description for your build decisions.
Mid-game positioning
The Steam guide characterizes Scorchflame as a mid-game option near Hernandian territory. That label is useful for planning, but it is not a stated character-level requirement or a promise that every player will find the set equally strong at the same point in the story.
Troubleshooting checklist
You reached the landmark but cannot find the entrance
- At Cascade Grotto, search behind the waterfall and inspect the nearby stone pile for Stab.
- At Twilight Grotto, confirm that you are in the western Demeniss cave south of Hills of No Return, then identify the northeastern waterfall by its rock stack.
- At Silent Falls Hideout, start from the southern opening at the Twilight entrance rather than from an unrelated cave.
- At Stonewell Farm, search the western tower, not the surrounding farm buildings.
- At Golden Trading Post, follow the middle road to its western end and check the door between the two stair flights.
The interaction does not trigger
- Equip or unlock Stab before attempting either waterfall route.
- Save Force Palm for the marked wall section reached after climbing the southeast wall in Silent Falls Hideout.
- At Golden Trading Post, crouch before attempting to push the wooden door.
- At Stonewell Farm, try both the interior ladder and the neighboring-building balcony approach if one path is obstructed.
An enemy blocks the route
The Grave Walker can be present near the cloak room, and Bastier’s Inquisitors can appear at Stonewell Farm depending on story progress. The evidence does not support claiming that either encounter universally locks the corresponding chest. Clear the area if that is the safest option, or use the route’s movement and interaction steps when the game permits an evasion approach.
Source limits and how to read conflicting directions
The route details come from community gameplay guides rather than an official Pearl Abyss item guide. Pulᔕen’s Steam Community guide was posted April 7, 2026 and updated April 11; GAMERPILLAR’s guide is dated June 23, 2026. Their agreement on the five destinations makes the location list consistent, but their different Grave Walker instructions mean the boss should be presented as a possible encounter, not as a proven mandatory fight.
Arekkz Gaming also published a Scorchflame plate-armor and Drake Shield locations guide on March 25, 2026. The fan-made crimsondesert.app database was updated in March 2026 and is the source of the unverified 25% fire-mitigation and four-piece rallying claims. No qualifying official statistic or named expert quotation is established by these materials, so the chest directions are more certain than the numerical set bonuses.
Complete-set checklist
- Boots: Cascade Grotto waterfall northwest of Reventine Monastery.
- Gloves: Twilight Grotto waterfall cave in western Demeniss, using the northeastern waterfall and Stab.
- Cloak: Silent Falls Hideout, reached from the southern cave at the Twilight entrance; Force Palm reveals the room.
- Helmet: Top floor of the western Stonewell Farm tower.
- Plate armor: Hidden compartment beneath Golden Trading Post, through the crouch-and-push door between the stairs.
Once all five chests have been opened, the Scorchflame set is complete. The collection itself is an exploration circuit across Demeniss and nearby Hernandian territory, with hidden waterfall entrances, one Force Palm wall puzzle, one tower climb, and one disguised door. The only unresolved route question is whether the Grave Walker must be defeated; the available guides disagree, so treat the fight as optional unless your current game state leaves no safe path around it.
